General Clark recognizes Harris’ deep commitment to our nation’s security.

“David Harris has proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Infantry and through exemplary leadership to his fellow service members. After serving on active duty for 12 years, he continued his service in the Army Reserves. He was among the troops during the initial invasion of Iraq, Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, spending 14 months deployed as a Logistics Officer out of Al-Nasiriyah.”

A lifelong Democrat, active in working for the needs of families as well as a strong nation, Harris recognizes the need for citizens to be involved in their government in order to elect officials who truly represent the people of their districts. Clark endorses and supports Harris’ stated reasons for running: his core principles of strong defense, strong families and to ensure the rights of all citizens. “He cannot be dismissed as soft on security. David Harris recognizes the need for a strong national defense as well as the importance of a balance of power in our government.”

Married to Michelle Harris for 16 years, and the father of three children, Harris understands the value of strong families and the obstacles they face in providing everyday needs such as healthcare and education. “His family knows first hand the huge sacrifices that military families live with as their loved ones serve this country, and what they face as returning veterans in a time of budget cuts to veterans services across the board.”
