I don't know who or how to get this to the right people, so I am going to
say it here, I support Gen. Clark in all that he has done, however I will not
give one more dime to an incumbent. I will however keep on giving straight to
the General and let him give it out however he sees fit. I have come to the point
that I just plain cannot trust how my senators (Lincoln and Pryor)or any other
for that matter will vote, especially on this "torture" issue, the Geneva Rules are just fine
the way they are and they don't need some non-combat R.E.M.F trying to re-write
them.
The Oath
Submitted by checkmate1947 on January 22, 2006 - 2:05pm.
I took an oath on 6 different occasions, each time I reenlisted, that has a meaning even now, "I swear to uphold and defend the constitution of the UNITED STATES against ALL powers foreign and DOMESTIC,-sic- so help me GOD". Nobody that I am aware of has ever let me out of that oath, General Clark had to take the same oath, more than I did, and he can't get out of it, because once he took his commission from the point (West Point) he is committed for life as an Officer. My point here is that many are asking the question of How far are we away from a democracy, now let me say this; we are only as far as we let ourselves be.

Call to Action
I am a retired veteran from the Vietnam Era, now my country is in trouble, not from an unknown enemy that sneaks around, or from one that has intentions of blowing my world up. It is an enemy that takes advantage of the freedoms that my friends and fore fathers died for. Every time the adminstration flaunts another Article of the Bill Of Rights, it is just a slap in the face or better yet a knife in the back to every veteran that is alive or has died serving this country, you would think that the people that we have elected to to represent us would be jumping up and down trying to keep this from happening, sadly they aren't and I speak specifically of mine, that being Pryor and Lincoln, these 2 Senators should be on the frontsteps of the Capital each day and on the podium of the Senate at the very least speaking out for you and me, what are they afraid of?? Even if they loose their arguement at least they took a stand, and actually stood for something. I like General Clark for that very reason, he may have lost the first round and he might loose the next round but at least he has the goanads to stand up and be for something that is percious to each of us,The Constitution Of the United States, He and I together along with millions of others took an OATH that we would protect and defend the constitution of the United States aganist ALL powerrs foriegn and DOMESTIC and nobody has come along and released us from that oath. I still believe it and will still exercise that oath,"so help me GOD". I hope in the near future that we can have representation that we can be proud of once again, that we can have leaders that we can look up to and not bow down to, The freedoms that we enjoy and that we fought for are in the balance, they were not given to us, they were fought for, Men and women alike died for those freedoms, they are sacred, and the President nor some appointed judge should think about taking them away.
Investigation Sham!!!!

Is it just me or does anyone else see the "sham" with this new investigation in to who leaked the NSA story, it is my belief that the White House started this investigation to keep people around it quiet, by starting an investigation the White House the NSA and the Dept of Justice CANNOT discuss, or be interviewed or questioned anymore, all they have to say now is "that is an on going investigation and we will not make any comments about it", and if anyone does then that person could be charged with obstruction, and that is just my opinion.
My Country is being attacked!!!!

In December of 1971 I was stationed at a small place in Vietnam, a place called Ninh Hoa, it was the home of the Korean Army's "White Horse" Division, during that time the NVA were raising havock with a large number of T54 tanks that they had gotten from the Russians, we didn't have at that time any weapons that were effective aganist these tanks and some of us had begun to get quite worried that there wasn't anything to stop them from coming father south and over running us and everybody else, now my reason for saying all this is because the fear I had of that happening pales in relation to the fear that I have now of what is happening to my country. We as a country are under attack and in jeopardy of losing what so many have fought and died for, mainly our freedoms, that is why I support General Wesley Clark and others that will not only defend this country, but do the one thing it needs more than anything else, and that my friend is LEADERSHIP, the American people are in my opinion starved for leadership, we need it like a fresh drink of cold water on a hot day. America needs leaders that say what they mean and mean what they say. It is sad to see where we are at now, but at the same time we have hope in the fact that there are leaders like General Clark and others that will step forward, and fulfill that need when their country calls. Please forgive my SOAPBOX diatribe, I am just a loyal American Veteran that is worried about his country.,,,,,,,,
