The DJ, Bob, introduced Gen. Clark as a former General then corrected himself saying, "Well, no one is ever a 'former' General," (good on him), former Commander of the Kosovo War and NATO Allied Commander.
Gen. Clark talked about the troop surge and continued problems in Iraq. He reminded listeners that "everyone" is saying that the war cannot be won by military alone but that broad and robust diplomacy was needed. Wes pointed out that Bushco was not putting forth the effort needed for diplomacy to work.

I am the Flag
by Ruth Apperson Rous
I am the flag of the United States of America.

I was born on June 14, 1777, in Philadelphia.
There the Continental Congress adopted my stars and stripes as the national flag.

My thirteen stripes alternating red and white, with a union of thirteen white stars in a field of blue, represented a new constellation, a new nation dedicated to the personal and religious liberty of mankind.

I downloaded this a few weeks ago. I was going to post a link but apparently the DNC has removed it from their website, I can't find it now. :/

Gen. Clark autographed books and visited with fans and patrons on Thursday evening (11-8-07) at Wordsworth Books, a small upscale bookstore in the Heights Neighborhood of Little Rock.
As I crossed the parking area and stepped up on the sidewalk, I spied Gen. Clark standing in front of the store talking on his cell
phone. Not wanting to disturb him, I just smiled and waved a bit. He said, "Hello, Sue." What, no "Arky?" I was kidding about my nickname Sir, you can call me Arky anytime. :)
