As I was happily slicing seeds out of an apple on Thursday afternoon, looking forward to attending the “New and Improved Edwards/Rove Debate – Now featuring Wes Clark!” my husband shuffled into the kitchen with some words of warning.

A few months back, at the dawn of 2007, some of the house staff at Second City started a small production group with the mission of making internet video shorts. One in particular, John Kramer, wanted to make a short focusing on the upcoming election. He had a two-fold purpose. One, to test out a theory that he had about pushing a youtube selection to go viral - fast, and two, to get me to quit bugging him to make a film that cast General Clark in a candidate spotlight.

“What are you doing? Why?  You’re such a dork. You’re going to walk up to that man with five copies?  I’m embarrassed for you.  How much are these? ”

My darling husband was somewhat aghast.  Well, actually, that’s putting it lightly.  He was down right apoplectic when I marched into the Borders Bookstore on Michigan Avenue last night, picked up four copies of “A Time To Lead” and headed toward the register.  

“OK.  Who are these for?”
