The people who need a president love Hillary

Firsthand Accounts

So this morning I rose at 4:30 am so that I could get showered and awake and out the door before 6 am.
I was off across town to pick up another volunteer who needed a ride, and we met up on the southwest side of the city with some other Hillary supporters to "do visibility" at a major intersection for the morning commute. Eight of us held up signs, hooted and hollered, and yelled at passing motorists for a couple of hours to GO VOTE, starting TODAY.

Firsthand Accounts

I spent all day working here in San Antonio for our gal! We had a couple hundred volunteers show up early this morning at the campaign office, and Dolores Huerta, after a moving speech, sent us out with precinct lists to hit the streets for Hillary. Those unable to do the walking stayed behind to phone bank.
The buzz on Clark, fresh from a Red State Barnes and Noble.

Wesley Clark

I'm just in from my weekly jaunt to the large Barnes and Noble here in town (Yes, I do mean weekly - I'm a bookworm of the rabid hardcore variety), and thought I'd pass along a little anecdotal observation.
I had already grabbed two new books to buy, and was looking for General Clark's Waging Modern Wars, as I've read his second book but not the first. Unable to find it, I went to the help desk, where 7 or 8 people were milling about.
The employee punched it in to the computer, and noted aloud that not only was it not in stock, it was on backorder. As a matter of fact, none of the 3 large stores in our area can keep his two books or his biography in stock, noted the employee.
Obama, Dodd, and the College Vote: A Little Perspective, Please?

Crossposted from Daily Kos
In the past couple of days, I've seen a diary, and lots of comments, saying that Dodd is trying to disenfranchise the youth vote in Iowa. I've also seen a diary, and comments, that Obama is using Rovian tactics.
Before we decide that it's "Off with his head!" for either Democrat, both of whom I admire, let me explain why I believe neither claim is true.
Let's look first at some history, because as always, context is everything.
Why, as a reasonable person, I cannot vote for The Baby Jesus or The Buddha

Humor

My diary crossposted from DailyKos, because the level of fervor over whose candidate is the Second Coming of FDR, versus everyone else's candidates who are The Devil, has reached epic proportions. The Democratic party really is very prone to self-flagellation during primary season. I thought maybe we could use a laugh over here as well.
Are we (and Wes) making a difference regarding Iran?

Iran

I just received a reply from one of my Rebublican senators whom I wrote regarding potential war with Iran. It may not read as encouraging to you, but since I have been writing and receiving stock replies from him for years now, I can tell you that this is subtly different in tone from what I'm accustomed to getting.

Iraq

zeus4pres over at DailyKos has compiled a the list of senators that need pressuring over the Iraq War, and has composed personalized appropriate letters to use, geared to either Republicans or Democrats.

Iraq

There's a thread up on DKos about a memo that Steny Hoyer got hold of regarding the Repug strategy for the House debate.
Here's what it says....
We are writing to urge you not to debate the Democratic Iraq resolution on their terms, but rather on ours.
Democrats want to force us to focus on defending the surge, making the case that it will work and explaining why the President's new Iraq policy is different from prior efforts and therefore justified.
One thing I dislike about Wesley Clark: Flagburning

Wesley Clark

Supporters of candidates are often accused of seeing only the good in their chosen candidate. Here's one area where I think that Wesley Clark is dead wrong: Flagburning.
By their supporters shall ye judge them...

I'm married to a former Navy Commander, and anyone who has ever been in the military or been married to someone who has can attest to what I am about to say.
