If Nancy understood "legitimacy" like Wes does, she'd impeach.

As most of you probably know from from Mike Stark's account on Daily Kos, Pelosi thinks that there are more important things to get done than impeachment. Of course, notwithstanding the importance of legislation on behalf of all people who aren't billionaires, Ms. Pelosi seems not to understand that any legislation the Democrats might manage to pass will ultimately be meaningless if America's Constitution is allowed to become meaningless.

Our survival depends on the trustworthiness of our leader.

My favorite hopeful candidate is Wes Clark for the simple reason that I trust his character, vision and capabilities more than any of the other candidates. Moreover, I have no doubt that, once given the chance to get to know him, he would be the nominee who would garner the most trust from the electorate; particularly the 40% of the electorate who swing Independentwise--i.e., THE 40% WHO WILL DETERMINE IF BUSH IS REPLACED BY A REPUBLICAN OR A DEMOCRAT.

Please, Wes Clark, isn't it time "to beat the sh*t out of them"?

General Clark, while I was reading Rusty1776 throw down the gauntlet with the long overdue diary, Leadership on Daily Kos, I was reminded of the time on C-span when you were asked what you would do if anyone tried to color you unpatriotic. Your supporters often cite your eloquent retort as evidence of why we want and need you in the ring.

Why did Murtha et al think voting "no" would have been less preferable?

I don't know myself. But as disappointed as I am by the Dems letting us down, I'm inclined to believe that the alternative to not going along with this bill would have been worse. Surely Jack Murtha knows what he's doing and thinks it would have been worse otherwise, as sad as it is that we "had to" capitulate, right?

I honestly don't know, so hopefully one of you can explain it. Because either most of the Democratic base is making a big mistake or most of our leaders are dead to us. And I really want to know which it is.

And what does Wes think? Anyone?

"I Talked to My Translator in Baghdad Yesterday"...from DK

I knew you guys wouldn't want to miss this firsthand account of an Iraqi translator's pleas to his former American soldier to come back because Iraq needs someone to save it desperately.

Wes! This is your big chance!!!! ...Tell George You'd love to be his War Czar.

Need I say more? (If you're anticipating all of the reasons people on the right will try to claim Wes ain't gonna cut it, all he's got to do is bring with him a letter of endorsement for the job with sigs from all of his peers who would attest to his caliber.)

Time is of the essence.

Get Wes on The Daily Show already! Richardson was on tonight!

And he told a great--and VERY IMPRESSIVE--story of the time he sat face to face with Saddam to get him to release to American hostages. ...And of course he succeeded.

We've got to set Stewart up to be like, "I heard you've got a story just like Richardson's."

Does anyone think that it would be better if he waited until he announced to do the show? If he can be at the even in January, he can get on The Daily Show already. ...Surely Fox news can't let him make an exception for that, right?

Y'all won't want to miss this editorial by a soldier from Iraq

"You asked me to put together some thoughts on my experience in Iraq. First, Iraq is a very complex nation with huge differences between regions and locations. The experience of one battalion can be completely different from the experience of another next to it. Every area is different. My views reflect my very narrow vantage point after less than 12 months in a tiny corner of a very large country.

If a genie made everyone listen to me for one day....

I would say, "George Bush needs to resign and let Wesley Clark take his place. But since nobody is going to do what I say just because a genie made everyone listen to me for a day, here's why it wouldn't merely be the wise thing to do, but the law and Constitution demand that Bush be replaced by either Al Gore, John Kerry or Nancy Pelosi.
