UPDATED: Mr. Jason Goes to Manchester

|

Hi all. I don't have a lot of time to write a long prose FHA so will give a bullet pointed highlights list to ya for now.

PORTSMOUTH

-I got a slightly later than planned start and stupidly forgot to take the address of the Clinton Portsmouth NH office with me in the car. I realized this some where near the border so figured it was not worth going back.

Keeping Score: Copland

| |

Well I tried to go to sleep and just got more sucked in to the political coverage which I was finding more and more disturbing. Once it went in to the rerun stage I was flipping channels and came across a PBS show, "Keeping Score: Aaron Copland". Maybe it is simply because Copland was the first music I can ever remember hearing, as he was a favorite of my grandfather, my Mother, and myself. Maybe it was his inherent love and belief in America, despite all the government put him through during the "Red Scare" that so clearly comes through in his music.

Iowa CSPAN Dem Caucus Watching Thread

| |

I have to go catch a train but am starting you all off with this thread to discuss the goings on of the Iowa Caucus that will be broadcast on CSPAN tonight. Always an interesting view of the process. I will rejoin you all once I get home after braving near 0 degree airtemps and much colder wind chills... at least the weekend is supposed to be in the 40s for all you heading to NH. :D

Colbert in double digits as 3rd party candidate

|

Rasmussen reports did a poll including colbert as a candidate. Looks like the country really does see this election as a joke, and the republicans aren't laughing. 18-29 year olds prefer him to either Thompson or Giuliani. Ouch. For more info see their full report here.

Romney Watch: MA doesn't like Romeny.... REALLY doesn't like him.

| | | |

Check out this story from WBZ showing how those of us who have first hand experience with Romney as a chief executive. Lets just put it this way... 44% of PRO LIFERS prefer Clinton!

Bonus feature: You get to see downtown Waltham, just a few blocks from my home, and the bridge/mill area I walk through twice a day.

NH-SEN Buckey the only alternative to Shaheen in primary

| | | | |

According to the Boston Globe, Katrina Swett will drop out of the race tomorrow. Marchand dropped out of the race the day Shaheen entered the race. Our very own Clarkie, Jay Buckey intends to stay in the race. As the only alternative in the primary to Shaheen he may actually have a chance. I don't think she is that popular in NH and independents can vote in the primary. Watching this one closely, but it is still 12 months before the primary so anything could still happen.

Romney Watch: Romney Research by the editors of BMG

| | | | |

The editors of Blue Mass Group are entering the growing corps of Romney Watchers. They have opened a new Wiki of fact checked items about our least favorite ex-Governor.

Copied from BMG:

"We are delighted to introduce The Romney Research Center: A Media Resource. This is a wiki page where we will collect verified, fact-checked background information about Willard that can be used by members of the media and other interested observers as a reference resource.

Romney Watch: Guess I am not alone

| | | |

Guess I am not the only person who's primary goal this season it to torpedo Romney. The Massachusetts Democratic Party, has set up Romneyfacts.com

It is a site dedicated to showing how much of a flip flopping liar Willard really is. The first "web ad" has several of his quotes from his MA Governor Campaign. Classics

Thoughts on the gay marriage ammendment killing in MA CROSSBMG

| |

Charlie from www.bluemassgroup.com has an excellent summary of the take aways from todays amazing step forward and out of the sludge left behind by the Romney administration. I can not say it much better myself so am simply block quoting it.

"It is hard to disentangle the various threads and thoughts from today's dramatic events, but I'll try to lay down some markers as to what we're left with.
