Congrats to Hillary (our 'Comeback Kid') and to our favorite General too!

A big congrats to Wes and Hillary both!!! They’ve both worked so hard for last night’s victories. Let’s hope this swings momentum Hillary’s way…On to Wyoming and Mississippi and down the road to PA, the big one, my home state. :)

Essential Estrogen's writeup of the Marion event...with video

DUer Cornfield posted this nice blog about the Marion event where she spoke to some of those in attendance:

Wesley Clark Event Cuts Across Supporter Lines
A mid-day event Wednesday in Marion was billed as a stop for the campaign of New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and, without a doubt, the vast majority of the 40-some people in attendance were Clinton supporters, but there were also those Iowans who came just for the privilege of seeing her surrogate, Gen. Wesley Clark.

Wes addresses the Oxonian Society in midtown Manhattan

Well, Wes addressed members of the Oxonian Society in NYC this evening. It was a wonderfully intimate affair, with seats for only about 100. The room was full, with a number of folks standing when all of the seats were taken. Among the audience were three new Oxonians -- me, Gordon and Perry Barber (a fascinating woman who umpires Major League Baseball games and makes great T-shirts). We’d all joined after we’d seen Wes was scheduled to speak.

YearlyKossacks love Wes

Not sure if this rates it's own diary...and it is from The Washington Times (ugh!)...but I really liked this line in their report from the YearlyKos convention:

Also of note, Gen. Wes Clark's name garnered louder applause than any 2008 hopeful when organizers rattled off the attendees on the schedule.

Video of Wes at America in the World Conference June 12, 2007

Politicstv has posted a bit of video of Wes from the America in the World conference on June 12, 2007 on youtube. It's only 4 and a half minutes but it's good, of course.....

My Iraq/Iran youtube video

CarolNYC's picture

Hey, I made this video that I uploaded to youtube. It's the first time that I've used my iMovie software to create something like that and now that it's uploaded I keep seeing all of these flaws that I missed when I was putting it together.

Anyway, it's a montage of pictures, most of which I downloaded from the internet, set to a John Gorka song, with a stopiranwar.com appeal at the end.

If anyone has any comments or any ideas what I should call it (I just used the song title when I uploaded), it would be appreciated.

WesPAC endorsees gain

CarolNYC's picture

Good news recently for some WesPAC endorsed Dems....

In CO-5, a new polls shows Jay Fawcett in a dead heat with his Republican opponent in what is usually a Republican stronghold:

Colorado Springs - In what may be the starkest depiction yet of the challenges Republicans face in maintaining control of Congress, a new poll shows the party is fighting to hold on to a traditionally Republican seat in Colorado Springs.

No Democrat has won in the 5th Congressional District since it was created in 1972, but Democrat Jay Fawcett is tied with Republican Doug Lamborn, according to a poll conducted for The Denver Post by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research.

Wes endorses Joe Sestak

I skipped out early on work to go with my sister and her two little ones to the Sestak rally and endorsement in Clifton Heights this afternoon. I spoke to Maria and Rich and drsusan there. I’m sure someone will have a nice thorough account of the event. This is my abbreviated account.

A good crowd showed up….a lot of veterans, one with a Veterans For Peace hat that I quite liked. My sister’s kids are 5 and 6 years old and they had made brownies from Wes’ Aunt Rosalie’s recipe to give to Wes. They had brought him brownies when they first met him in PA for a Kerry event during that campaign too. They are so cute because they really were excited to see “the General” as Lilia, the 5 year old, was calling him.

Paul Rieckhoff at the Strand, NYC

I attended the Paul Rieckhoff reading/book signing down at the Strand in Manhattan this evening. Paul read some passages from his book and then took some questions. We’ll have our own chance to ask him questions when he guest blogs here and I imagine we’ll probably have a lot of the same questions that were asked this evening so I’ll just relate a few general impressions and a couple of specific ones too.

The guy is the real deal....He’s smart and articulate and passionate and funny and charming and totally down to earth and committed to his cause and whatever flattering adjectives you can come up with. He’s just really a good guy...He was great to listen to and his book really is wonderful.
