Wesley Clark | Wesley Clark

Hey Clarkies!
I just penned a diary up at Daily Kos right now called "General Clark PWNS in Florida for Obama!". It's bascially a bunch of media accounts, pictures, video, and commentary on the General's trip to Florida to campaign. I haven't heard much about it and yet the swing turned out to be so successful I just couldn't help but share!
Wes Clark vs. Evan Bayh

Right now on the Intrade prediction markets, Evan Bayh is the current favorite to be Barack Obama's running mate and thus the next Vice President of the United States.
Bayh would add a lot to the ticket. He's a popular Senator and former Governor from a state that Obama would love to pick off this November. He also supported Hillary Clinton in the primary, so his selection would go a long way towards uniting the party and bringing in stray Clinton supporters.

Let’s face it.
General Wesley Clark is the only Vice Presidential Candidate with Presidential campaign experience, who has military, foreign policy, diplomatic, and executive experience, with southern roots, appeal to Latinos and Hillary Clinton supporters, an existing national grassroots organization, and who will not cause the Democrats to lose a Senate seat or a Governorship with his selection.
Well...that about says it.

* I know that many Clarkies have decided to support Hillary. I respect Wes's endorsement but have decided that (at least for now) I'll be rooting for someone else. Please don't take this diary as an attack on any candidate.
Tomorrow, a relatively small percentage of the population in a relatively small state will make a relatively huge decision that will impact the presidential race in profound ways. Together, Iowa and New Hampshire literally have the power to shape this country’s future.

This is my letter to the President of the Iowa College Republicans who said some things in an interview recently that I found completely unfair. You can watch it here...
This is what I had to say to him...
Hi Benjamin. I am a college student at the Universtiy of Washington in Seattle. I don't know how I came across it but I saw a video of you on youtube talking to The Independent and I wanted to write you respectfully not to attack you, but because I disagree with you.

Dear General Clark,
I was very fortunate to meet you when you visited Seattle in early October for your book signing at the private reception attended by Stan Davis, Kelly Flinn, Darcy Burner, and others. I go to the University of Washington and I’d like to update you on some good news and also share some more serious thoughts with you. I hope you can spend several minutes considering them.
My Speech on Preventative War

War on Terror | speech

Hello folks! I just got back from debating the UW college republicans a little while ago and I put the video of my closing remarks on youtube so you all could have a look! We were debating Preemptive war but me and my debate partner tried to show how republicans take the definition of imminent threat, exaggerate it, and what we end up with is actually preventative war, which is something completely different. At the beginning that got cut off I said "When a man is holding a gun to your head, what do you do?

Grassroots organizing | Events | need ideas

Hello citizens of Clarkdom! Using the internet these days, it is extremely easy to get like minded people organized and moving. Just take DraftGore.com as an example. Using online tools, the group has been able to round up 216,000 signatures to their petition. Take DraftClark in 2003 as another example. People using the organizing power of internet were able to directly influence who was running for president. It is obvious that our country is a better place today because of Wes Clark’s campaign and because of the ideas that he has been able to inject into our national bank of ideas.
Stephen Colbert for President!

It's official. Stephen Cobert is running for president...in South Carolina. He is going to run as a democrat and a republican.
Colbert said, "Nation, after 15 minutes of soul searching, I have heard the call."
Here is the article...

I think this is awesome. Oviously he is not going to win, but I think he's going to use this opportunity to mock the system and force us to take a hard look at it. Wouldn't it be great if he got like 15% in SC? If not Clark, Gore. If not Gore....Colbert.
;)
