Clark has some Role on Final Day of Convention

| | | | |

Go drop in on thewashingtonnote.com for the latest from Steve Clemons. Clark will be at the convention on its final day, Thursday, when Obama speaks. Apparently he will be given some role (though it seems unlikely it will involve speaking). This seems to be in response to Clemons and several other bloggers indicating their sense of displeasure, along with Clark contacting the Obama campaign to make it clear that he would continue to be a staunch supporter (however he was treated). In any case, a salve to the wound.

I just posted a pro-Clark blog at dailykos

Just realizing that this is the moment for Clarkies to bring more attention to Clark once again in the blogosphere if possible. He was pre-empted by the news on Tim Russert the other night, when he seemed likely to get a lot of coverage over his attack on McCain, but there are many things people don't realize about Clark and I'm hoping my focus on his 100-year-plan will attract viewers.

"Now" is Wednesday, June 18, 10:30 western time.

VP Analysis of Clark at Tpmcafe

|

Just wanted to alert people that they've put up an analysis of Clark's strengths and weaknesses, and his weaknesses all rely on one stupid quote of someone talking about his performance as a campaigner early on in 2004. I can't seem to figure out how to get onto the comments section, so if someone could go over there and set them straight....?

Power of Prayer? Massa Letter

I know that Wes Clark has attracted a diverse community of supporters, but hearing that Massa's Hodgkin's lymphoma went away due to the power of prayer --- yes, I know it didn't say only the power of prayer, but it led with it --- was a real "turn off."

There's a war right now that Christian conservatives have instituted to take evolution out of the schools. A recent study showed the power of prayer actually having a negative effect on people informed that they were being prayed for, and no effect on those who weren't so informed.

How Fox took down Clark and Dean in Previous Debate

I posted this on February 26 at dailykos, but apparently I should have posted here, after reading the positive comments about Kucinich's statement.

Fox does not ask the "tough questions." Fox works to manipulate the election.

You don't send your best commanders over to the enemy, so that the enemy can decide which of them to slap in the face and which to cripple.

What does it take to make a YouTube "Stop Iran War" documentary?

What I'm picturing is standing in front of some world maps, pointing to the countries and detailing the Administration's plan from years back.

Also some graphs and maps detailing the consequences:

1. to our soldiers on the ground

2. to our mission in the middle east

3. likely long-term consequences in terms of:

a. deaths in Middle East and terrorism deaths in US
b. economic consequences to US because of military spending and oil prices that
could lead to the 21st century seeing us become a minor power

Shake Hands With A General (song lyrics)

Shake Hands With A General

Having trouble understanding when
We overturned and landed in this ditch
People dying, people crying out
Haliburton getting plenty rich

Don’t much like the men we have in charge
Neither one has faced a gun in war
Think I know the man to fix us up
Wish we’d had him sitting there before

Shake hands with a general
Got respect all around the world
Shake hands with a general
Stars and stripes gonna be unfurled

Shake hands with a general
Who’ll make America the best it can
Shake hands with a general
Shake hands with a real man

Waiting....

Man, I've got to get myself a new hobby.

On a typical day, I spend a couple hours wandering around the internet, looking at my political sites and commenting, before I get down to my work.

But since the congressional elections, I'm getting not only sick of doing that, but a little sick of myself.

Until the last couple months, my comments rarely had anything to do with the man I want to be president. I would compliment Steve Benen of thecarpetbaggerreport.com when he would post some Clark news, to let him know there were people who cared, but otherwise, it rarely came up.

Consequences of Bombing Iran

I don't see anyone talking about the consequences of bombing Iran.

I understand that the action itself is morally reprehensible, without ever having talked diplomatically, without ever having considered whether their retaining nukes might be an option.

What's Wrong with a Wes Clark Speech

What I should really say is: What's wrong with a Wes Clark Primary Campaign Speech

I have been a Clarkie since the Draft. Hardly a day goes by that I don't cruise the internet looking for more to read about this amazing man.

But I think he's making a mistake on his campaign speeches for the primary --- the same one he made last time.

Stand up if you're a veteran.
Let's have a moment of silence for our troops.
We will build a memorial to be proud of.

All of these are great sentiments. For someone with a cabinet post in military affairs.
