Pennsylvania Primary Update: Another Democratic Debate on the Horizon?

Here's the latest news on what's happening in Pennsylvania, with regard to the upcoming Democratic Primary.  Word on the street is that Philly Mayor Michael Nutter is working feverishly to get the candidates to agree to hold a debate there, during the week prior to voting day.  It would be held at The National Constitution Center which is a great location.  I sure hope he succeeds.

Although I wasn't able to get to the rally for Hillary, in Annapolis, yesterday, I heard there was a terrific turnout.  The front page of today's Baltimore Sun has 2 articles pertaining to our upcoming primary, under the combined headline:

Money, gender add complexity to campaigns.

Women drawn to Clinton by their hearts, minds

It's no secret

that I loathe "who?"  While I'm not a subscriber of The Nation, I stumbled onto this blog that was posted there, yesterday and I just had to share.  I love it, love it love it!  She nailed his sorry ass. :D

I have often wondered, that if a candidate was popular enough, why would he or she feel the need to have paid bloggers on their staff?  I mean, the netroots is full of bloggers who would happily support their candidate of choice in a heart beat.....no compensation necessary.  For example:  look at all of us.  Many of us have been blogging, hither & yon on the internet(s), since the Draft Clark days.  There is nothing we wouldn't do to increase the profile of our candidate in whichever forum happens to offer us a comment box to do it in.  And we have one of the most outsta

Rudy Giuliani (Psycho Hosebeast) for President '08

Whoa! This article in today's Salon takes Rudy Giuliani "downtown to Chinatown."  It's what I've been sayin' and New Yorkers have known about this wack job all along.  The man would be America's worst nightmare if he became president.  And most especially right after Bush.

We've got to impress this upon people who think that he is some kind of hero as a result of 9/11.  I'm hoping that Giuliani's history will continue to unravel under the harsh scrutiny that America's presidential candidates must endure.  For me, this piece is like the first domino.  Kudos to Cintra Wilson for one fantastic piece of writing!

Letters.....We've Got Letters

Monday, a week ago, I received an email alert that Wes Clark's name had been mentioned in an article, published that day, in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  Of course I clicked on that link to see what they were saying about General Clark!  I liked what I saw and decided to reinforce what Bill McClellan had to say regarding political dynasties and Wes Clark, by writing a LTTE.  Apparently he's an admirer, as well.  In case you missed it, here's what he had to say:

Santa's got his work cut out for him

...a message from Michael Moore

Friends,

Tomorrow night, those who sent 2,800 of our soldiers to their deaths -- all because of a lie the president concocted -- will find out if America chooses to reward them -- or remove them.

As good as things look for the Democrats, do not pop the corks and start the partying yet. Do not believe for a second that the Republicans plan on losing. They will fight like dogs for the next 24 hours -- relentless, unforgiving, nonstop action to squeeze every last conservative voter out of the house on election day. While the rest of us go about our day today, tens of thousands of Republican volunteers are knocking on doors, making phone calls, and lining up rides to the polls. They're not sleeping, they're not eating, they're not even watching Fox News. A day without Fox News? That's right, that's how insanely dedicated they are.

No, I Won't Back Down: Wes Clark, Jim Webb & Michael J. Fox in Virginia

It was a dark and stormy night……Uh, no…..it wasn’t!  It was a crisp Autumn afternoon and along with a friend (and fellow Clark supporter) I hopped a train in Baltimore and headed down to Arlington, VA to attend a rally for Democratic Senate candidate, Jim Webb, where Wes Clark was to be one of the featured speakers.

We arrived on the scene of The Clarendon Ballroom about 45 minutes early.  The doors were still closed but there were already a handful of Webb’s supporters standing outside. A guy by the name of Fritz, who apparently was working for the Webb campaign, was looking for volunteers to do a “wave” along the street while we waited to get into the venue.  So, being the ever dutiful campaigners that we are, Elizabeth & I grabbed some signs and went to stand near the curb.  But not before securing a promise from Fritz that he would take us up front when the program began, in payment for our efforts.  He agreed.
