Passing the word along.

Passing the word along:

Why we need to keep on doing what we're doing.

This Saturday, March 17th, I was visiting the Santa Monica Pier with friends. There is an amusement park on the pier and I thought we would go on some rides, eat some cotton candy and have a good time.

We parked on the south side of the pier and decided to play in the surf a little bit. We had a great time romping in the surf, and although the weather was overcast, we all thought the water was warm and comforting.

When we decided to head to the amusement park, the kids thought it would be fun to walk under the pier to the north side and walk up to the amusement park from that side.

As we came out from the shadow of the pier, into the hazy sun shine on the north side, we were greeted by hundreds of crosses, placed upon the beach in tight formation, row upon row. We approached slowly, as I remembered this was the weekend for peace demonstrations and
observations in DC and across the country to remember our fallen in this tragic, unneccessary "war".

Passing the word along...a year later...still relevant?

ORIGINALLY POSTED MARCH 19th 2007

ONE YEAR AGO....THESE WERE MY OBSERVATIONS...WITH REACHING 4000, I WAS PONDERING HOW RELEVANT THIS MAY STILL BE AND LAMENTING HOW LITTLE HAS CHANGED- Dion

Lousy joke...or Freudian slip?

News conference this morning.

Besides the usual smarm and disrespect toward reporters and avoiding direct answers, the chimp thought he'd try to be a comedian again.

Questioned about the power grab his soulmate Putin is making in Russia and his efforts to remain in power, GW replied..... "That's what I'm trying to do."

Here's where I am.

I'm waiting.

I thought it was patiently at first, but my opinion has changed.

I was doing a bit of late spring, now, early summer cleaning.

I came across an old copy of "American Son" and slapped it in the DVD player for old times sake.

It didn't take long before I realized that really, in the 4 years or so since it was produced...absolutely nothing has changed for me.
