WWII - Help from on the home front

Interesting reading in the General Discussion yesterday
some of the many things done by those Clarksters who were children on the Home Front in WWII.
I was a child then and your words on that time brought many memories.
How I became interested in Wes Clark in 2001

Firsthand Accounts
Since you're interested in knowing
about my early attention to Wes (2001),
my answer should probably start with the fact that sitting right here near me on my writing table is
a hardback book, Waging Modern War, General Wesley K. Clark, (former supreme allied commander, Europe.
Inside, at the top of the first page (Copyright page) it lists:
"Copyright 2001, Published in the United States of America by Public Affairs, a member of the Perseus Books Group."
and printed at the bottom of the page:
"First Edition 10987654321"

As General Wes Clark would say, and certaily has said, every time we look around:
"I haven't said I'm not running."
Unless the day comes that he says that, I take it that
there's a slight, slight, slight chance
that certain preconditions ("money and organiztion") may, just may, come to be there.
That's my postion and I'm sticking with it.
General Wes is entering those most expensive of all years, for self and spouse and providing something, if possible for the progeny. He has the position of being
the one who can provide big, BIG bucks

Here's General Wes Clark's major quote on General Patraeus.

"Now, from the President's perspective, Iraq is just a war. And he's real happy General Petraeus is over there, because General Petraeus is a General, and George Bush always listens to Generals. (laughter)
And when he gets tired of listening to them,he replaces them.

As far as I can tell from a lot of Googling on it, Friends and supporters of General Wesley Clark haven't yet done a very good job of spreading U.S. General Wes Clarks response to the widely known comment of U.K Lieutenant General Sir Michael Jackson's comment that "I'm not going to start World War III for you."
Please consider spreading General Wes' reply to that remark whenever and wherever you encounter the widely spread WWIII comment by Jackson.
To Open Left: First, Do No Harm

Democratic politics
In pushing, nationwide, for a more progressinve shift to the left,
"Open Left" seems to pay no attention at all to the FACT that is giving the kind of talk that in many House districts,(mine
being one of them), electing
a "more to the left" Democratic candidate
virtualay guarantees a sure loss to a Republican in the House District Election".
So, if you want more Republicans in the House,
look to the primary and be sure to encourage voting for the
Democrat that is more to the Left rather than
than voting for the more Moderate Democrat. .

Celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month (in the Chinesecalendar, the Chinese Valentine's Day is a day of romance, love and passion.
There is a little love story attached to this day. It is a story of the 7th daughter of the Emperor of the Heaven and an orphaned cowherd:

One of the blessings that being an Earthling brings is our view of the stars in clear skies.
This is an uncommonly lovely view showing the Milky Way, Jupiter, the star Arcturus and the Big Dipper in a beautiful and educative way than I've ever seen in a picture .
