Iowa - Caucusing Made Easy
Patti Solis Doyle sent out an email today leading with, "I am here on the ground in Iowa, and I can tell you that this race is simply too close to call. The 29 days between now and the caucuses will make all the difference for Iowa and the sprint through the rest of the early states.
The crowds, the momentum, and the excitement are building as we approach these key early contests, and I know -- because I've known her for 16 years -- that Hillary will finish strong. She will win the nomination, provided we each do our part between now and then."

Service. Sacrifice. Honor.
On Monday, all across this country, Americans will take a moment to remember those who have done so much to allow our freedoms. On this day, we'll spend time with our families, join our communities in celebration and take time to remember what sometimes we all take so for granted in our everyday American lives.
But each and every day, those who wear the uniform stand for their brothers and sisters who have given everything.

You know how it is when you just want to take one lousy week off? Just one week out of fifty-two, one week when the clients and the problems fade to a dim memory. Just a single week of solitary to recharge the old batteries...
Something to remember once you’ve managed to get a week like that to yourself; Do NOT drop by the office to pick up anything you’d forgotten. Because that’s when your week is over. Kaput. Finished.

"Model United Nations"
By JMora
Model United Nations is a simulation program for college students in which they participate in model sessions of the United Nations in an effort to advance their understanding of the principles and means by which international relations may be maintained. The program helps students develop a greater understanding of the nations of the world, the relations between them, their policies, and the nature of their work in the United Nations. The first session of the Model United Nations of the Far West was held at Stanford University in 1951. http://www.munfw.org/mun/about.htm

"The Hicks Fix"

Well, I think the first thing Congress should do is repeal the Military Commissions Act. I’m very disturbed that a number of people who are looking at the highest office in the land have supported an act which advertently or inadvertently authorizes the admission into evidence of information gained through torture. That's not the America that I believe in. And the America that I believe in doesn't detain people indefinitely without charges.

"Gen. Clark a rising star for Democrats"
To rip a page from the lore of Springsteen, I saw the future of the Democratic Party last week and its name is Wesley Clark.

This isn’t to predict Clark will win the White House, the party’s presidential nomination or even the New Hampshire primary - this time around, anyway. But if the Democrats are going to win back the hearts and minds of mainstream America, this retired four-star general is the guy to do it.

The Tax Man and the Pot of Gold at the End of the Dubai Rainbow
By the Economy Team
From Wes Clark's 2004 Campaign Position Papers
Manufacturing Security Plan:
Stop rewarding companies that shift jobs overseas.
- Stop tax breaks for companies that move overseas for tax reasons.
Wes Clark would close outrageous loopholes in the tax code, like the ones
that allow companies to avoid taxes by shifting income to Bermuda.
- Deny government contracts to firms that move headquarters overseas for tax reasons or shift substantial numbers of U.S. jobs overseas. Wes Clark believes that companies should not be rewarded for moving their headquarters to overseas tax havens or shift substantial numbers of U.S. jobs abroad.
