Repug strategy: Themuslimsarecomingtogetcha!

There's a thread up on DKos about a memo that Steny Hoyer got hold of regarding the Repug strategy for the House debate.
Here's what it says....
We are writing to urge you not to debate the Democratic Iraq resolution on their terms, but rather on ours.
Democrats want to force us to focus on defending the surge, making the case that it will work and explaining why the President's new Iraq policy is different from prior efforts and therefore justified.
We urge you to instead broaden the debate to the threat posed to Americans, the world, and all "unbelievers" by radical Islamists. We would further urge you to join us in educating the American people about the views of radical Islamists and the consequences of not defeating radical Islam in Iraq.
The debate should not be about the surge or its details. This debate should not even be about the Iraq war to date, mistakes that have been made, or whether we can, or cannot, win militarily. If we let Democrats force us into a debate on the surge or the current situation in Iraq, we lose.
That's right, folks. The Republicans have no intention of debating the troop surge or the war like grownups. Their plan is to turn it into a red-herring bluster about
THEMUSLIMSARECOMINGTOGETCHA!
They plan to blatantly fearmonger, not debate, and they've admitted it in this memo. All I can say is I hope this hits the mainstream media and embarrasses them mightily, and God bless whatever Republican with a conscience passed that nasty little note to the "other side".
Here's the Kos thread: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/2/13/18943/6753
...but doesn't this forebode just what they would have in store for us if Barack Obama became the nominee? The madrassa lie was just a small sample of what cards they intend to play from their dirty political hand.
This people are despicable -- they truly are.
That's why I believe with all my heart that Wes Clark is the only one with the strength of character and "battle" experience to take on this rightwing fear-mongering machine and awaken the American people to the point where these kinds of hate tactics are no longer tolerated.
Then, after 8 years of Wes Clark, our nation will be "mentally enlightened", so to speak, and we will be ready to make progress towards a candidate like Obama, or a well-qualified woman.
..with YOU. ;)
This country is forever changed, and the Dems must move forward with it. Actually, we need to be leading the way, not slowly and reluctantly following, because that's not good enough, and would be too little, too late. We have the perfect opportunity to become the party of national security -- and we'll never have a better candidate than Wes.

BE THE CHANGE you wish to see in the world.

After this broke on Kos, Olbermann addressed it onhis show last night. I hope it gets picked up by more MSM.

Those who are claiming that Islam is in an all-out war against infidels ought to visit one of the very many Islamic sites where the Fatwah Against Terrorism has been posted.
In short, while this resolution the Congress debates is non-binding, the Fatwah against Terrorism is.
Hmmmmm..... We have found the enemy and he is us???

Run, Wes, Run! (Please?)

Hi Want,
They're out of other excuses.
The problem is this: Does our continued military presence in Iraq encourage or undermine radical extremism?
The answer, clearly, is that it's been encouraging it ... massively. The idea that "we're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here" can be rephrased as this: We're sending our best and our bravest over there to be easy targets, so the terrorists who want to kill Americans won't have to come here to do it.
I'd rather the terrorists were trying to do it here. The odds are in our favor here. It's easier to identify and interdict them here.
