which, if the author thinks it'll be McCain, then the credibility of anything else falls to the side as well, but it still made me happy to read it :)

If Romney wins the Iowa straw poll today, and I think he will, he will begin a fast ride to January. It has been a little hair-raising and disconcerting this past week listening to Dem candidates with the most amateurish clairvoyance in foreign affairs and virtually no management experience tossing around when they would use first strike with Nukes (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Faulkland Islands?), and randomly changing their positions on First Strike to meet voter surveys. It is Wes Clark now, or never.

That's for the Republicans only. The Dems, at least at this point, are staying where they were.

They could do worse. He, at least, appears to be sane.

As we've all known forever, REPUBLICANS WILL CROSS OVER and vote for him.

Why do you think it's "nothing," Ruth? I rather liked it, small that it is, but I liked the integrity comment, and for once someone figured out that Clark did better than Edwards in the early going last time.

there was a press release from somewhere, AND the article noted some of his fine attributes.

And tried to say, I think, that he'd been receiving some numbers in polls even tho he's not announced.

Its 'nothing' because its a small outlet.

who issued the press release to Transworld News in the first place?????? I've been mulling it over since reading the alert early this morning.

I like the reference to integrity as well as the crossover appeal. No current candidate has an abundance of either, and Wes has them in spades.

I found it unusual for a press release service not to include the source of the release. At first I thought it was an editorial from somewhere, but then concluded that the service probably didn't include editorials, especially without a source.

"Submit News | Submit Press Releases" clickable links.

It looks as though anyone who is signed up on the site would be able to submit whatever they want. As long as your willing to pay for it that is...starting at a low-low $49.95.

Submitted by justcallmeOHIO on August 11, 2007 - 10:14am.

or is it customary to have to pay to get news and press releases published?

That is an interesting aside - from where would a press release like this have been issued...that's just...um...well, huh.

(Once more, Dorma chimes in with her articulate analysis of a situation.) :-P

Book publisher perhaps?

Palgrave/MacMillan would do a more professional press release from a far more credible site than this?

Plus slap their moniker on it?

Although it doesn't appear to be a polling company, but some kind of aggregator of polls.

'Transworldnews -- never heard of them before -- was the first to send me an email today after my latest press release went out over Business Wire for Ridgecrest Surveys and Computer Troubleshooters USA . They wanted to tell me in their html email solicitation:

"TransWorldNews is currently preparing for its launch. During this phase, TransWorldNews invites you to post your news stories FREE." Yeah, right! And exactly what newsrooms and trade publications subscribe to their service?

All these choices are rather mind boggling, and would take more time than a working stiff like me has to unearth. I'll leave it to more inquiring minds to sort out, and continue posting my releases to Business Wire and PR Newswire because I know they have major newsrooms that subscribe.'

Comments:

"top news story" (nvm that it doesn't provide information re: who submitted it, sources, or anything more than poll results which are readily accessible by anyone)

It actually doesn't say it's a press release at all. As it happens, there's just a tab at the top of the page.

I think anyone could have submitted this blurp.

So who do you suppose? Any ideas?
