For the Beauty of the Earth

One of the blessings that being an Earthling brings is our view of the stars in clear skies.

This is an uncommonly lovely view showing the Milky Way, Jupiter, the star Arcturus and the Big Dipper in a beautiful and educative way than I've ever seen in a picture .

What a great resource, Clearsky- Thanks for making me aware of it! That view of the Grand Tetons is basically one that I grew up under... 82-86, anyway...

spot here this week. A clear view of it even with the city lights below me. I find it awesome!

Thank you Clearsky! :)

...and relief you found in the milky way.

I remember with fondness, my visit to Santa Fe in 2002. A place I'd move to if NYC ever became unbearable. Eight years of Rudy and six of Mike have made the city most livable, so it may be awhile.

In the meantime, I hope you find solace looking at and searching for the stars.

Santa Fe is special and our skies are amazing day and night, but I must admit that after living here all my life, it would be fun to have a change. And then summer comes and it's so special and I feel content to be here.

I have some friends who moved here from NYC and they love it, but they always miss NYC and can't wait to get back to the city often. I think city people have a hard time... missing the excitement of the city. I wonder how the Wilsons will fair here? :)

You tell us about the beautiful skies, the art, an occasional snow storm and of course rumors of strange flying objects, but I have to depend on the BBC to complete the picture.

It seems people in Santa Fe do more than look at the pretty sky, they develop some very interesting software. The BBC is reporting that software developed at the Santa Fe Institute has uncovered Wikipedia edits done by the CIA, DNC/DCCC and others.  The software is available for anyone to use on the Internet from a server in Germany. Since the story just hit on the BBC site the server in Germany is really overloaded right now so its working very slowly. Of course had someone in Santa Fe told us about this before the BBC we could have beaten the rush! :)

I am still looking for that damn article Cheney scrubbed about Roswell, the Real Story. LOL!

And hey! I gave you a free button to save you from Roswell aliens. What more do you want? :)
