I'm in Chicago today and wanted to dash off a quick note to you.
On Wednesday, I asked the Clark community to help us raise $25,000 in 48 hours for our "2008 Fund." We're less than $10,000 from meeting our goal before our deadline tonight.

I need your help to keep speaking out. Today, my hometown newspaper, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, called our efforts to remove Rush Limbaugh's show from Armed Forces Radio "sad." Is it sad to fight for our troops' right to express their views on the war? Is it sad to stop airing Rush Limbaugh's hateful speech over taxpayer funded airwaves?

We must also ensure we have the resources to help as many candidates as possible in 2008. This is a critical election. We must have the right leadership to fix the mess George W. Bush and the Republicans created. I'm ready to hit the campaign trail, and I need the resources to do it.

I want to support Gen. Clark's attempts to embolden the Democratic party (they could use some help).
Then shortly afterwords, I found out that the person who will be challenging Elizabeth Dole for her Senate seat, has a Wes Clark connection.
His name is Jim Neal. He is an investment banker who lives in ChapelHill, N.C. Jim Neal took time off from his work in 2003 and 2004, to raise money for Wes's Presidential campaign.
He was a National Finance Committee Member for Wes Clark For President.
He resume shows him to be a very accomplished individual, and he does a lot of hands-on work for charitable organizations. He has even been known to spend the night working in homeless shelters.
I hope that Wes will endorse him, and I hope that VoteVets will go after Liddy Dole. Her voting record DOES NOT support the troops.

Wes will make a significant difference in the 2008 outcome!
And based on the response to this short term challenge, it sure looks like we are all going to make certain he has the resources to do that.
We've still got the guy the neo-cons fear the most, he's still raring to go, and that makes me happy. That, and the fact that so many of you are still on board, despite our disappointment that Wes isn't entering the primaries.
No more crying in my beer. ;)
Now, back to the Red Sox vs the Indians... I'm hoping the Sox will face the Rockies in the Series. An old fav vs a new fav. What could be more crazy making?
