Clinton, Wes Clark Stop at Iowa Diner
NBC/National Journal | Athena Jones
DES MOINES, Nov 19 -- Clinton brought out Gen. Wes Clark, onetime presidential hopeful himself, in Iowa. Clark appeared with the New York senator at an unscheduled stop at Drake Diner -- part of the campaign's efforts to shore up support among voters in a state where the race for the Democratic nomination is far closer than in the rest of the country.
Clinton introduced the general and chatted with a handful of voters who worked at a children's hospital and with a man who asked about housing issues.
"I'd love to have your support," the senator said at one point; one of the diners said she would have his. Clinton then settled in at the counter to chat, before the cameras, with Clark and former Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack about the challenges of campaigning over the holidays.
Clinton wondered aloud how they would keep momentum and voter contact going over the holidays, saying that campaigning at that time of year has never really been on anyone's agenda.
"You can't call them on Christmas," Vilsack said.
"You can call them on the 26th," Clark responded with a chuckle.
They also spoke about China and ways to fight global warming. Clark called eggs his "comfort food" and both he and Clinton ordered fruit bowls.

I thought so too on that night where she had Wes sit with her at the Town Hall in NYC. And, maybe she's just really good at faking it, I don't know, but she seems to listen to and look at Wes with more respect and admiration than Kerry ever seemed to....for whatever that's worth...
"The mark of leadership is not to standup when everybody is standing, but rather to actually stand up when no one else is standing" - Pulitzer Prize winning author Samantha Power, introducing Gen Clark

Of both of them. I find it interesting that they were talking about China.

...for a guy who had just flown in from China.
Absolutely wonderful pic!

And Hillary was endorsing Wes Clark after his victories in the early states...awww shucks.
Great picture though. This is a winning ticket.

Think about it this way -- reguardless of who is endorsing who...
Wes Clark is in the White House.
Well not quite YET but you get the point
;)

hmmm....and I live on Drake street...hmmmm. All this serendipity lately. It's getting weird.
1.) Spoke with mad4clark about Edinburgh...where I lived on Clark Street.
2.) Wes says we should leave Pakistan alone...at the same time I'm thinkin' it.
3.) I download "Oh Happy Day" for my iPod. That evening, while switching channels, I bump into a Vicar of Dibley episode; the church council is breaking into "Oh Happy Day."
4.) I download "His Eye is on the Sparrow" by Marvin Gaye; passing by VH1 I see an ad for a Marvin Gaye bio.
5.) We never eat fruit bowls around here. However, in the interest of saving time tonight I ran to the store to pick up some quiche supplies. Just happened to grab some melon for fruit bowls on the side, thinking to myself, "this will be nice, we never do this."
I get home. I see this:
"...and both he and Clinton ordered fruit bowls."
OMG. Enough already. I'm freaking out.
And by the way - I love that picture.

MS in LA will have to tell us what it all means.

F'ing Corpress lie about the tip stuck but good. It's been debunked, but no matter -- we know how that goes...

Clinton and Clark Campaign in IowaBy Patrick Healy
DES MOINES – File this under the Department of Getting Ahead of Ourselves: Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is campaigning in Iowa this morning with a political ally, Gen. Wesley K. Clark (ret.), and on first blush it’s pretty easy to see a future political ticket there......
;)
"Madam President has a nice ring to it." So sayeth my daughter.
I just heard a story that I don't want to repeat that made it sound like she's got a good sense of humor. Anyone know anything about that?
We learn. We change. That's progress. If we don't do that, well, we're GWB.

can tell a joke at her own expense- she did several times in the small session at ykosII. Peace takes Power

I posted a snippet from an AP article debunking the "no tip" lie, and it didn't get posted. I posted it about 5 hours ago.

I'm fond of writing something, reviewing it, thinking it looks right, and then I go on somewhere else without clicking on "Post comment." Then I wonder where the hell my post went.

No, I'm pretty certain I posted it. Maybe they just don't want the lie debunked? Quite a number of posters commented about it. Dunno.

Hillary feels the nice warm blanket of General Wes too.
I wonder.....do the decision makers see the truth and trust in this picture....the genuineness? We shall see.....

I like the photo. I hope this man will be V.P. I think Hillary has more sense than Kerry did. That's for sure.
A great team there!!
The General gets it right.
Competence--What a concept!

is Iowa?! (yet!) This is a brilliant match up no matter how you look at it. Everyone wins.
Even if this isn't a VP or other position sort of try it out see how it feels kind of thing, these two are such natural allies that absorbing this, I'm just sitting here beaming.
This just gives me hope. Not for anything specific, but I remember very well how 04 felt & it did not feel like this, let me tell you! I just feel so grateful for this on about a thousand levels. Thank you.
