clinton | debate | huckabee | Obama | Climate Crisis

Don't spill anything on the sofa. Have some popcorn and talk about whatever relating to the debate on MTV.

He doesn't really answer the question. He talks a good game, though.

Spawn and the grandkids are on the way over for dinner so it's going to be Narnia or some such.

It's a format that's more of a mini-townhall for each candidate to answer questions from the audience. The audio for Ron Paul to answer isn't working.

Question about the youth vote now. Question about why young voters are going more for the Democrats than Republican candidates? Paul saying the Republicans deserve to be punished (regarding Iraq war and such).
Ron Paul says he's offering young people, "freedom." He attacks our monetary system, military industrial complex and medical industrial complex. I can see how he gets those online donations.

He got around the "birth control" issue that is hot button with people on the right and made it a "falling dollar" problem. He's a liberatian. He wouldn't have the government pay for anything having to do with "the general welfare." It may be in the constitution, but nobody is going to get a dime out of him.

I don't know what he thinks about insurance companies not covering the cost of birth control or this vaccine the young lady asked about so it's not expensive for young women to get. My guess is he's against any regulation that impacts insurance companies and is fine with them paying for Viagra and not birth control.

to listen online?
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

a while back. Don't think it's available if you don't have an acct.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

He's against what we've been doing with Iran. He wants to bring back the troops from Korea. He says we have to understand it's the end of our empire around the world. He says all the other Republican candidates disagree with him

Have very intellectual questions...good for them..

He doesn't want to be president to run our lives. He doesn't want to run our economy, the world, etc... Sounds like he doesn't like the federal reserve. His big thing is about monetary policy. He sounds like Andrew Jackson on this one.

Paul did well with the respondents. 50% said they would vote for him and more said they'd consider it. Paul appeals to young people.

He has been on MTV before...
Ron paul does appeal to younguns'
As with Ron Paul, Obama will do very well with
this type of evaluation. Hillary? I don't
know.

Introduced as "our friend from this station (MTV)"
Question about his background and how will it help Obama with diplomacy? He says he can look through the eyes of other people. He says if he goes to a poor country, he has the credibilty of having a grandmother who lives in a poor country. If he talks to Muslims, he can say he lived in a Muslim country when he was a child, although he is a Christian. He says these experiences can't be matched by the other candidates.

No, of course not....in a nutshell. Of course, he's not looking into his crystal ball to see what might happen in the future, my take.

I would have voted against it!?!! Even tho he said, I don't know how I would have voted, during Kerry campaign...He uses that as strength...ack

Wes proposed in his campaign. He says he learned the importance of community service when he was 23, 24 and 25. Guess they didn't require community service at his high school in Hawaii. Has me wondering what took him so long? Hillary started doing community service after hearing MLK speak when she was much younger. Oh wait, I forgot, Obama is from that other group of boomers. The group Hillary is from are "the past."

He's for civil unions. His record about G/L issues go back to when he was in the state legislature. He opposed Don't Ask Don't Tell. Guess he forgot the first thing out of the box when Clinton was president was trying to get gays and lesbians to be able to serve in the military and the best compromise he could get (pretty revolutionary at the time) was Don't Ask Don't Tell. Reading that article about Exelon, anybody think Obama would stick to his guns in negotiations with Republicans?

He brings up what various religions think. He says he just wants to be sure everybody has the same legal rights as married people. He's going to leave it to different denominations to decide if they want to call it a marriage.

It seems his whole stump speech is with others ideas, and issues. That tells me, his real ideals aren't his own...hum!

Interesting for him to say it that way. It's not a problem for me, but for Muslims, once a Muslim practicing or not, you can't leave the religion. It's a capital offense. Really don't want to have to go there with a president. It's a whole other reason for people to hate us that we don't need. It's worse in the Muslim religion to be an apostate (one who leaves Islam) than to be an infidel. Other than that, don't care about his years as a child or what his religion is now.

One Black gal, said having Hillary as President makes her confident in solving education problems..and she gives her hope

Question ..college loans and why college is so expensive.
She is explaining her ability to get affordable loans..more tax credits, pell grants, earn their money , national service 10,000 a year. Cut out lenders chargeing loans high rates...Service jobs to pay off debt. Income contingent program. It is important as we are out priceing tuitions by colleges..
Q Vote for candidates, because how they feel about them.
Answer: The two of them represent a sea change last night. For the toughest job in the world. The question is who is best to handle the problems...energy, college, health, oil, global warming, said, she has been a fighter.
She laid out her ability to work across the isle. She has been making change. Going to have to clean up after Bush. Its a choice between us, who is able to win in Nov, and has the experience

Alot of young sceptical that she can win...
Answer:
She has been vetted, and has beat the Republicans, as she has done so.
The democrats, independants, and Republicans voted for me..Its important we know who has made changes. Which she makes as a priority.
Some have taken seconds on homes to send kids to college..after listening to thousands of people who tell her the problems. She intends to make college affordable.
None for Obama. Many for Hillary. eg. "Why is
it so hard for you to admit your vote on the IWR
was wrong?"

Human rights by student..
She intends to work to change that...oops didnt get all of it
Pork Barrel spending Questions.
She doesn't see contradictions...intended to provide jobs to New Yorkers. Had a positive record for New york. Needs transparency on Pork Barrel projects. Wants it more accountable.
War question: bite the bullet say your sorry..apologize..
answer: vote was based on threat..inspectors...to determine if they still had them when bill was President. It was a pressure to make SH to own up. But Bush went to war without coming back to congress.
What are we going to do in the future is important now, we have to fiqure out what we will do to get out now...no confidence in their planning...so she will do it..2 brigades out a month..as carefully as possible. Nat'l security she is fully qualified...and make sure Americans understand...We do have enemies..don't forget that...here in N.Y. feels prepared..

Q working with Republicans...said she can do it , has done it. Can work across the isle, prevent recession, universal healthcare, etc...she has experience and understand and can find common ground...
Final...pitches her program on Hallmark channel, invited the young people to come on board..ask yourself who can handle our problems and fight with the Republican..Next Generation candidate..roll up your sleeves make the future ours....done...

supporting Obama...so there ya go...was said, that mostly older people support Hillary.
My opinion, she was very good explaining the needs of the new generation. They listened, but they are caught up in the Obamarama...its the American Idol thing...She was alot more detailed in my opinion then Obama...
However, most of the kids, aren't paying mortgages, heat, electric bills, or college tuition. They only see $$$$ and not going to be drafted in the war. The real substance of the average household is not prevelent in their wants and needs...So it going to be up to the grown-ups to make decisions.

Pretty much all "G-d questions" so far.
