Tsunami Tuesday from the coast - the PST thread

Washington isn't a Super Tuesday state, but this is the place to post exciting California and Alaska news. Polls are inconclusive here, my guess is Seattle/King County will trend Obama, but Democrats in other parts of the state will support Hillary.

Both our senators have endorsed Hillary. The Governor hasn't announced her endorsement yet.

Exciting times!

make me crazy:

The latest Reuters/CSPAN/Zogby tracking poll conducted Feb. 3-4 showed Obama leading Clinton by 13 points, 49 percent to 36 percent;

a SurveyUSA poll at the same time showed Clinton up by 10 points, 52 percent to 42 percent.

They're not on Pacific Time, but we'll adopt them for the purposes of this thread. :)

In other news, the Governor of American Samoa endorsed Hillary, but I'm fairly sure they don't get to vote.

From NBC Nightly News

Obama's new BFF Ted Kennedy is out there, reminding the Latino voting block that his brother was Bobby.

(Meanwhile, Chelsea courts the vote among young Latinos.)

Labor leader Maria Elena Garrazo, supporting Obama says:
"My goal is to make sure people know who he is, and to judge him for who he is, and not make a decision based on the Clinton name."

Tom Brokaw says that Latinos make up approximately 15% of dem voters, and that from what they're seeing (they have some kinda magic crystal balls or something - insert Defoliate Dole joke here) that they're breaking for Clinton almost 2 to 1. It's gonna be a long night.

powerful Latino/Latina endorsements, especially from Southern California.

Up here in the relatively peaceful Northwest (at least for today), I imagine that Governor Gregoire will endorse Hillary, that Seattle/King County will break for Obama (but it'll be closer than we think) and the rest of the state Democrats will go for Hillary. A lot depends on the youth vote as well. I expect Obama will have a heavy presence at caususes in Seattle, Pullman, Ellensburg, Olympia, and Bellingham, but whether that's enough to offset the other attendees, I don't know.

But not sure where to post stuff!! So many blogs so little time.

Yes our latino vote will break big for HRC. Pay no attention to what they say on the media. They will be looking puzzled I think as we go forward.

Talk about your southern strategy! Tennessee was amazing! Oklahoma, Arkansas... She will roll I hope.

I voted here later in the day - pollworkers said it was a good turnout, a few hundred. I noticed only the Dem booths had people in them and the Repub booths were so lonely and empty! LOL

My big victory today was a female REPUBLICAN co-worker that I have been working on forever actually went and voted HILLARY today and even announced it in front of everyone! I was elated. She was 100% against McCain and leaning Obama.... but I talked and talked. Who knows why she did it, but she did. Felt good. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle --the missionaries-- something in the gene pool... :P

I heard in West Hollywood there were young kids all over the place waving CHANGE signs and shouting -- I saw none of that in my area.

I'm very excited. Got a goooood feeling!

I've been on the GD, but I'm fine to just all be in ONE place! Being a natural "uniter" and all... :)

That Hillary won the John Edwards vote in Tennessee.

But hey, the Obama guy said Hillary won because there were tornados there!! No... I am not kidding.

That's what I love about your Obama peeps. The sterling logic of their arguments.

So tornados will make people vote for Hillary and not Obama. Obama voters don't like tornados because.. the are bad for hope?

Interpreting this science stuff is hard work.
