Gen. Clark gets credit, when you donate to Hillary campaign....

mad4clark's picture

People have been asking on the GD how we can make sure that Gen. Clark gets credit for donations to Hillary's campaign, so I decided to blog the information.

The link below takes you right to Wes's own page on Hillary's web site. If you donate from there, he will get credit.

https://contribute.hillaryclinton.com/wesclark.html?rc=GDY5

And since, Obama is way ahead in the money game, now would be a good time to help her.....and Wes, out.

we as a group let the Obama campaign know they do not own Crowing Rights on grassroots campaign contributions.

He is still trying to portray Hillary as a corporate owned and corporate run 'old' crony. Contrasted to himself, Mr. Populist supported soley by the peeps and the roots and the small donors.

She is hugely supported by the working class. They can't spin or explain away the stats. Yes she has corporate donations as he does but the voters are speaking and it's one of the more telling demographics she has captured.

Let's show them what grassroots support looks like, in Wes's name!

Hillary read our minds! This just came in email:

We are on track with her campaign call!! Woot!

----------------------

$3 million - 3 days

Dear MS:

We had a huge night last night -- we won the biggest states and the most votes, and we are ahead in the overall race for delegates. But this race is far from over.

Even as we prepare for upcoming races, I want to remind you of what happened the night before Super Tuesday. You and I participated in an extraordinary event -- our "Voices Across America" town hall. I believe with all my heart that there is a direct connection between the conversations we had on Monday and the votes we won on Tuesday.

Voters came out in record numbers, not just to make history but to remake America. Thanks to your support and your votes, the momentum is solidly on our side.

We don't have time to catch our breath -- the next races are just three days away, and there are ten more contests in February alone.

Let's meet this moment with bold action worthy of those who have put their faith in us. We are setting a big goal for the next three days: raise $3 million to fund our history making campaign.

Contribute today to help us reach $3 million in three days.

After seven years of a president who listens only to the special interests, America is ready for a president who brings your voice, your values, and your dreams to the White House.

We had a great day yesterday. Now we must keep that momentum going. You have sustained me throughout this journey, and I am calling on you again to give our campaign the resources we need to win critical upcoming races.

I've never asked so much of you as I am now: $3 million in three days. But the need has never been so great.

Contribute today to help us reach $3 million in 72 hours.

I will never forget all you have done to make this incredible success possible. I'm so proud to have you standing with me.

This is our time, this is our place, this is our chance.

Thank you,

Hillary

I still have a hunch that the small donor will start giving more to Hillary now knowing that she actually NEEDS it. That is exactly why I am giving to her now.

The news snark about Hillary giving herself 5 million dollars may yet work in her favor.

in the Obama-Adoration League... I think he should just run as a republican and be done with it. They are in dire need of a viable candidate. Certainly of a charismatic candidate!

He could be the uniting kind of republican. The kind that reaches across the aisle, like W professed to be when he ran.

He could run with Hagel as VP, and be the anti Iraq war republican ticket who believes in the transformative ideas of Ronald Reagan and will appoint Ahnold to his cabinet. He could improve the old white guy image of the republican party and his Clinton bashing would sound less spiteful- why it's practically de rigeur on the repub campaign trail. He could offer to "fix" social security and no one would flinch.

Hmmm.

http://firedoglake.com/2008/02/06/nobodys-hands-are-perfectly-clean-in-politics/

In her NyTimes OpEd endorsing the candidacy of Barack Obama, Caroline Kennedy tells us that rather than basing our decision on a candidates' stated positions on the issues or on their experience we should focus instead on his character.

Most of us would prefer to base our voting decision on policy differences. However, the candidates’ goals are similar. They have all laid out detailed plans on everything from strengthening our middle class to investing in early childhood education. So qualities of leadership, character and judgment play a larger role than usual.

I have long been an admirer of Ms. Kennedy's and I think she has point. Problem is, Obama has a Tony Rezko problem. Actually a whole bunch of Tony Rezko problems. And a few other problems here and there which do not say very good things about his character or his sense of ethics or his ability to spot the appearance of impropriety. I include on that list the recent revelations about the legislation which he claims to have "passed" relating to leakage of nuclear material into drinking water.

REZKO

I think she needs a new strategy. Obama is sucking money in like a giant vacuum for the green stuff. It's making his campaign look greedy. I think Hillary needs to really focus on the fact that we are in a recession and we all are having to tighten our belts. She needs to show her fiscal responsibility by demonstrating she can make each dollar do the work of at least 3, somehow. She needs to do something that will really impress conservatives with her finess when it comes to managing money. That's a big one for hard core fiscal conservatives. It's one of the themes Huck has been using and it works for him in red states in the south.

Submitted by StvyY19 on February 7, 2008 - 1:43am.

Compared to what I heard Romney put in of his own money. Wasn't it something like 35 Million? I don't mean this to sound snarky. I'm just saying. Wheres all the media on this one? They only mentioned it a couple of times. But they keep on trying to make Hillary look desperate. But I agree that its obviously backfiring.

BeckySue4Clark says,
'Compared to what I heard Romney put

Maybe Romney could contribute to Hillary's
campaign. Especially if he thinks McCain will
win the nomination, and pick someone,
besides Romney, as his running mate.
Even more so, if he thinks Clinton, with
enough money, could beat McCain,
in the General election.
I don't know if election laws would allow
this, but I'm sure they could find a way around
them. Republicans for Clinton, or something
like that.

I think the news that she had to contribute to her own campaign will have the opposite effect than the one the media and Obama supporters wanted--namely that her campaign was tanking. I'll bet many people assumed she had plenty of money. Helping her will energize support...people who contribute will feel they have a personal stake in her run. It doesn't really matter how much anyone contributes. What matters is that all of us contribute something - because the media will be certain to want to know how many contributors as well as the average contribution. And, because of the story that Obama has lots of small contributors, but Hillary doesn't, I'm hoping that Hillary will get many more $x.00 and $xx.00 contributions along with the bigger ones.

Also, mega-thanks to mad4clark for this diary. It's great to see all the renewed enthusiasm as well as the deep desire to help both Wes and Hillary.

the church of Scientology that sucks up money from their members. We're in tough economic times. I think Hillary's campaign is doing a really good job of being mindful of the economic hardships by her giving her own money and her staff people deciding to work without pay for now. I feel certain they've been paid really well and can afford to donate the time as volunteers. I wonder how long David Axelrod would stick around if he wasn't being paid?

identify not having money, and being in a bit of a personal economic crisis themselves. Ya know, the money issue is a double edged sword here.

On the one hand, Obama supporters and his campaign are all, 'look how much money people are throwing at us! They like us, they really really like us!' But does that sort of gloating really sit well with the single mom with two kids who's trying to sort out how she's gonna pay this months gas bill? Or the fella who's just been laid off for the fifth time in the last five years? Or the people who are working double time to make up for this administrations weakening of programs for education, poverty, et al? I'm thinking this is gonna backfire, and it may be subliminal or sub-conscious, but it will. My guess is we're gonna be hearing rumblings about it sometime next week. Remember - Obama wins the upper-class. Here's just more proof of that. Also, don't forget - those college kids sending in the $250? Who's really paying that credit card bill...oh yeah. Dad pays that. I told him it was for books. Heh.

I think what you state about the staff 'donations' and mindfulness of economic hardships is sounding a clarion bell in the truth meters of many middle class Americans.

We shall just have to see.

Mr. Perception Manipulator has managed to convince everyone he is the populist in this race who speaks for and represents the common man.... oh and woman. I spent hours on Kos last night trying to show them who votes for him vs her. Where his millions come from sector by sector. I was greeted with "Well that's just a lie" when posting nothing but data from OpenSecrets fundraising stats! I was greeted with the strangest responses and then of course lots of crickets... my best Kos pals.

All I keep thinking of is the need for debriefing that we see done with massive cult indoctrinations. I know that sounds extreme and I've been trying not to categorize it in those terms for awhile now but it's gotten too damn spooky out there.

The number of reasonable minds have dwindled down so low it's like needle / haystack ratios.

I saw plenty of "normal" people get swept up in that one. Marriages were ruined. Werner Erhardt had to leave the country. I think the church of scientology is after him. Wow, people just handed over huge amounts of money to the EST cult.

I always like to study what peeps do en masse throughout the ages, just a curiosity thing for me... so I have tried for these past months to look at this "movement" with one eye up close and personal (and admittedly biased) and the other eye pulled back, a more objective perspective. Now the two eyes are merging into one field of vision that is blinking red. I can now say that I find this "movement" really troubling in more ways than political ones.

It's one reason I would avoid football games when everyone else went. The mob hysteria freaked me out. Same thing with those mega churches (KathyB- you hear that? ;-))

I've allowed myself the luxury of mass hysterics at plenty of musical and rock concerts.... gladly. But always knew I would walk out to my car as the same person who walked in. I dunno LJM... this thing is troubling that's all I'll say. And I mean beyond the presidential race - way beyond. My gut is displeased.

for saying as much. Jack Ryan hasn't been around since that sliming. We may be covered in slime, but we weren't wrong.

Of course, the non-fiction section will be the most populated part, at least at the beginning.

Proud to be an American.

I've been trying to tell you about the "c" word. I've had to wash off so much pie running through the piefields at DKos, not to mention the ones that get thrown at me here. So far so good, just don't wear anything you wouldn't wear to paint in or wear a hazmat suit.

I am so sick of this friggin media. I just heard the "news" on the radio-- Barack Obama raised $7million in 24 hours breaking records...." NOT ONE WORD about Hillary. What I was trying to post yesterday but the graphix got 'disabled' for some reason, showed that she outraised him EVERY SINGLE MONTH in the past YEAR (except Apr May 07) and some months by HUGE amounts and we never heard a peep. The first time he beats her by any significant amount -- FIRST TIME-- It's alert the media! Everyone has to hear about it all day. FIRST TIME. One lousy month. She overall still earned millions more...

Even worse, my alarm woke me up with Stephanie Miller who I used to like....it's like listening to Rush now. Horrible horrible. On and on about HRC wanting to break the "rules" by seating her delegates and by asking to debate on Fox... then a caller said that technically Teddy (who is a super delegate) should vote for Hillary, did Steph wish to change that "rule"? She played the "cackle" three times in three minutes, and here's the worst- She followed it with the clip of Obama saying his peeps wouldn't vote for Hillary but hers would vote for him. At the end she just snips "True Dat."

As much as endorsing that kind of sentiment fracturing the Dem party at primary time, as much as steering votes to the republicans if she should be nominated. Instead of decrying that kind of sentiment and telegraphing to your voters as undemocratic and frankly dangerous in these times... she SANCTIONS it with a True Dat quip. I'm getting ready to donate every time I hear this BS. And I am really tight right now!!!

Of course there were the obligatory jokes about "Hey- can I just not pay my staff?" And the 5 million being from some middle eastern corrupt connection.....etc etc etc blah blah blah.

We have only one radio channel for 'progressives' -- I can listen to Dennis Prager or Savage or Rush for this s**t.

I think the Good General needs to give her a call and sort her out.

See my post below about the money issue. I think there's more to come from the media.

I might be wrong. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
