ARTICLE: “Obama’s fundraising, rhetoric collide: Union says senator did little to save jobs“:
Maytag workers whose jobs were shipped to Mexico serve as consistent characters in Barack Obama’s stump speech. He employs their stories in railing against corporations that use trade pacts to replace well-paid union workers with low-cost foreign ones.
It is a ready applause line for the Illinois presidential hopeful, one that he has been reciting almost verbatim since he was a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2004, when appliance giant Maytag was in the process of shutting a refrigerator plant here, putting 1,600 people out of work.
But the union that represented most of those Galesburg workers isn’t impressed with Obama’s advocacy and has endorsed his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton. Its leaders say they wish he had done more about their members’ plight.
What rankles some is what Obama did not do even as he expressed solidarity four years ago with workers mounting a desperate fight to save their jobs.
Obama had a special connection to Maytag: Lester Crown, one of the company’s directors and biggest investors whose family, records show, has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Obama’s campaigns since 2003. But Crown says Obama never raised the fate of the Galesburg plant with him, and the billionaire industrialist insists any jawboning would have been futile. [BUT OBAMA COULD HAVE TRIED, DAMMIT]

I remember that well, as I live near Whirlpool hdqts here in St. Joseph, Michigan. My Dad worked for Whirlpool!!
My Dad was a big union guy, way back in the early days, when they helped move the working mans economy up. He helped start the union. Lots of fights with the companies, but eventually won.

Its apparent to me, his preaching is getting tiring, as the substance isn't there. When he tries to give specifics, he has to read them off a script!!! Have you noticed that Nick?? He seldom EVER speaks off the cuff about policies, and if he does, he stutters, like he is thinking about what to say. Hillary answers questions from the audience..no script, no pauses to think, its just there!!
and then the choir sings, they pass around the collection plate, and the money rolls in.
He's also got a great smile, and I hear he can play pick-up basketball.
He used to be a community organizer, and his wife works for that hospital.
He even says he can save us all $2,500 per year while giving away more of our money to the insurance companies. Very cool!
Isn't that enough to unite the whole congregation?
Sure he's never actually run a church before; and he's never actually shown that he has what it takes to beat the devil; but he does talk like a saint when he gives those sermons; so why worry that he doesn't quite talk or walk like one when he's just hanging out? Hardly any of the congregation has even seen him that way so far. And the ones who have are all just part of that sour grapes bunch who still want us to choose that woman.
Can you imagine? A woman Minister! Sure she can answer questions better than him, but that's probably just because she's done the lord's work for close to 35 years. You know what that means, don't you? That means she has knowledge. Hey, we all know her husband has knowledge too. ;) ;) And that's what's made it so easy for us to convince so many of the congregation that she ate that apple....
So, here's to the young Rev, and all that beautiful money he keeps coming in! May he give good sermon and keep the congregation transfixed all the way to the bank!

1000 stars. And as said in the Barak Obama did nothing to help save these jobs. When he had it his power to do so. He took money from the owners of the company. The Crowns. Which they made a killing off of it when they sold out to Whirlpool. At the expense of the workers. Is this what it is called when Obama speaks out of both sides of his mouth? He also did the same thing to United Airline workers.

That a company making auto parts in Kalamazoo is going on strike against the company. A very large plant that makes various parts for the auto industry. GO UNIONS...thats what it takes to get the ball rolling on Corporations who do not want to pay their employees, or give them benefits...

To post a clip of his speech and headline that he was getting jeered and booed--you must be joking!!! They were chanting "Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!"
That really makes me almost cry. I know it is the corporate media setting Obama up to get creamed by McCain, but I am so sad to see this being done by means of destroying Senator Clinton in the meantime. And there is no link to contact them at all on that video page. :(
