President Clinton's Law of Politics, in his own words.

"Now one of Clinton's laws of politics is this. If one candidate's tryin' to scare ya', and the other one is tryin' to get ya' to think. If one candidate is appealing to your fears, and the other one's appealing to your hopes,
you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope.

That's the best."

Wiser words were never spoken, except perhaps these:

CLARK: And this soldier has news for you tonight. Anyone who tells you that one political party has a monopoly on the best defense of our nation is committing a fraud on the American people.

(APPLAUSE)

Franklin Roosevelt said it best. Franklin Roosevelt said: "Repetition does not transform a lie into the truth."

Mr Obama said:

“There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again... If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will.”

Scared me. Got me to thinking too.

I'm wondering because I remember Obama giving a speech on that a couple months ago. If you have intelligence that Bin Laden is holding up in a cave, don't you first get Musharraf on the phone and get the green light, and if he says no, fire missiles anyway? A recent top leader of Al Quaeda was killed w/0 Musharraf's approval. The man is basically a fascist dictator. Better to do what's right with as little damage as possible now and deal with Musharraf after you've taken out your target. Obviously you have to try to get his approval...
