VIDEO: Dan Abrams debated Jonathan Alter who called on Hillary to drop out now!

Hello Everyone:

Jonathan Alter is a journalist who I once used to respect because like Keith Olbermann, he was pretty good at holding Bush and the Neocon GOP leadership in Congress accountable for their abuse of power:

Since then, I have lost all of my respect for Jonathan Alter because of what I consider to be his blatant bias of calling on Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the Democratic primary race before Tuesday, March 4:

Hillary Should Get Out Now

Clinton has only one shot—for Obama to trip up so badly that he disqualifies himself.

"If Hillary Clinton wanted a graceful exit, she'd drop out now—before the March 4 Texas and Ohio primaries—and endorse Barack Obama..."

I was really glad to see Dan Abrams stand up to Jonathan Alter!

Here is the 'Live with Dan Abrams' video link from Monday, February 25 which I recommend watching where Dan Abrams debated Jonathan Alter over this issue and where he also brought up anti-Hillary media bias:

Guest: Keli Goff, Pat Buchanan, Michelle Cottle, Jonathan Alter, Dana Jill Simpson, Doug Jones

DAN ABRAMS, HOST: "Finally: Someone, even if it’s a comedy show, echoing what we have been saying for weeks now. That many of the inside D.C. media have been enamored with Barack Obama and rooting against Hillary Clinton. “Saturday Night Live” captured it perfectly...

ABRAMS: All right. Now, regardless of whether the media is to blame, it is now an uphill battle for Hillary Clinton. “Newsweek’s” Jonathan Alter, one of the most prominent political columnists in the country is even calling for Clinton to withdraw from the race now.

He writes, quote, “If Hillary Clinton wanted a graceful exit, she’d dropout now before the March 4th Texas and Ohio primaries and endorse Barack Obama. Now, before the voters speak in those delegate-rich states, before tomorrow’s debate?

JONATHAN ALTER, NEWSWEEK: No. Not tomorrow.

ABRAMS: Yes, Obama is ahead but she’s not out of this yet. My friend, Jonathan Alter joins us now. Jonathan this is crazy, the idea that Hillary Clinton should step out now?

ALTER: Well, first of all, not before tomorrow night’s debate..."

Please forward this information on so that more Democratic primary voters (especially in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont) will be aware of people like Jonathan Alter and their blatant anti-Hillary media bias. They definitely need to think twice before believing any of this media bias nonsense when they see it!

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SAMANTHA BEE, COMEDIENNE: "We‘re at “Debate 20” and I think everyone here is a little disappointed that it took Sen. Clinton this long to catch on to our plan.

JON STEWART, COMEDIAN: The media‘s plan? Where are you, Sam?

BEE: Oh, I meant the media‘s anti-Hillary war room in the Paula Jones conference center. And right now, there‘s a certain feeling of relief of no longer having to work in the shadows.

STEWART: So Sen. Clinton was not being paranoid?

BEE: Oh, no, no, no. We‘re out to get her.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ABRAMS: That‘s “The Daily Show” telling it, I think, like it is, calling out the inside D.C. media for the love fest with Obama. Now, according to “Time” magazine, Bill Clinton is furious too; columnist Karen Tumulty, writing, quote, “Bill Clinton correctly blames the media for uneven treatment saying reporters have taken a tougher stance with him and his wife than with Obama. After “Saturday Night Live” lampooned the media for their love affair with Obama, Bill telephoned guest host Tina Fey to thank her.

And in an interview, Hillary Clinton‘s top strategist blames the press for some of the Hillary Clinton troubles at the polls as well.

Joining me now, Roy Sekoff, founding editor of the “Huffington Post.”

And back with us is Kate Obenshain from Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute.

All right. So Roy, look, you and I have debated this for awhile now and it seems that we‘ve got “Comedy Central” and we‘ve got “Saturday Night Live” which tend to reflect what the public sentiment is. And it seems finally, after me screaming at you about this for weeks, that the public sentiment is finally coming my way, which is that the media has been harder on the Clintons..."

On Sunday, Jeff Greenfield discussed anti-Hillary bias with:

Joe Klein, Jonathan Alter, and Rich Dowry.

(snips)

Klein: "I do believe there's something weird a few of our colleagues have against her. They tend to be Roman Catholics, actually. People like Tim Russert, Chris Matthews, Maureen Dowd. They've had it in for Bill and Hillary Clinton since Monica Lewinsky. They feel that the Clintons are trying to put one over on us all the time."

Lowry: "The glee we saw on the airwaves prior to New Hampshire about what everyone considered the imminent demise of Hillary Clinton was obvious." And analyzing last week's debate, he said, "I thought it was obvious that Tim Russert and Brian Williams were harder on Hillary Clinton."

Alter, for his part, actually drew loud boos for denying widespread media bias against Clinton. One male audience member seated near the back of the room even cried out "Bullshit!" (It should be noted that Alter is affiliated with NBC News, home to Williams, Russert and Matthews.)

Alter did say he thought Clinton was sometimes treated unfairly because she is a woman, but hedged even on that, saying, "It's hard to disaggregate her Clinton-ness from her gender."

I used to really wait to hear anything that Jonathan Alter had to say and hang on his every word. Then I began to see a big change in him and today whenever he comes on I just change the channel. Too bad. I believe he has changed a lot through the years.
