Hillary ---60

CNN says its very early...LOL
madspawn put up a thread too!
What do we do? Flip a coin?

I gotta run to kitchen. BRB.

For the higher good... :D
Guess we're in Jen's house then.
Mmmmm, smells good Jen- what are you cooking for us? I'm starved! But askeeered to eat before Ohio comes in -

It's breaded, baked pork cutlets, risotto, and brocolli.
gotta go stir the risotto!

Severe weather is about. Tornados and such.I can hear the wind outside my window whipping through the pines.
So I will probably not contribute much othere than lame comments. In other words, I don't deserve a vote.

deciding caucus style? ;-)
(flipping a coin, that is)
Wes Clark Democrats...let the Clinton campaign know who sent you

why Obama took VT so overwhelmingly?
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
but that could just be what I heard at the orange place? Markos was saying because of his margin there it could yield him beaucoups delegate count.
There are lots of latte sipping, Volvo driving tree hugger types up in the Green Mountain state ;-). ...Not that that is a bad thing.
The most populous city in thr state, Burlington, is a College "town". Great place to visit, on the shores of Lake Champlain. Vermont is a very nice state, one of my favorites.
Polls I saw placed the war high on VT voters minds. They have had the largest number of soldiers per capita killed in Iraq then any other state.
IRAQ.
That being said, this is obviously an overwhelming victory for Senator Clinton. Clearly this race goes on, Obama does not get the headline he needs out of this and Rezko is going to be thrown in his face for the next 7 weeks.
Simply put this is a very depressing moment to be a Barack Obama supporter, we were New Hampshired again, and we are going to spend the next 7 weeks defending ourselves from a press that has at long last pulled out the carving knives on Obama.
I have not been this sad since Wes pulled out in Febuary 04.

We've been there done that. Know how your feel.
Best to you.
"The Right always knows who its enemy is" Lance Mannion
Believe me, us Clinton supporters can sympathize with the pain of a loss or a few losses.
I take zero pleasure when an opponents supporter is hurting so consider this some sympathy coming from one Clarkie to another for you.
It's never fun to go through those endless nights waiting for the numbers to shift in your favor...
Seems I am forever backing the losing candidate in so many races so this is a sweet evening to be able to enjoy for a change.
I am very sorry for your sadness though. The press can and probably will be brutal. Best thing is to turn them off when it gets overwhelming. Us Clinton supporters could teach you a lot about that one. Feel better
I would certainly agree Hillary supporters know more than a thing or two about surviving the media nightmare, her supporters and Sen. Clinton herself have been tenacious and determined in the face of impossible odds and I again find myself amazed by the ability of the Clintons to pull victory from the jaws of all but certain defeat.
Congratulations on a hard fought and well earned victory.

this is a win-win for the Democrats.
Obama now has the chance to demonstrate that he can take the heat of a hostile press, that he can handle the kind of stuff that would be thrown his way, should he become the nominee. If he does that and wins the nomination, he'll be that much stronger.
If he doesn't, we still have a viable candidate who has faced the Republican Noise Machine before.
I am sorry for your disappointment, though, and would like to commend you on your civility and excellent engagement with those who disagree with you. Both traits are sorely needed.
It won't be pretty, tens of millions of dollars in attack ads that McCain will throw in our face.
If Obama survives he'll be a much stronger nominee. But listening to the talking heads I know that this, the next 7 weeks are going to be full of more Muslim allegations, more Farakhan BS and of course the resurrection of Rezko 24/7.
As Tom Paine once wrote: "These are the times that try men's souls"
The big test will be if Obama can keep his grassroots campaign going in the face of negative attacks from two sides and a serious electoral defeat. If he can there is still hope, if people melt away now, when Barack needs them most, the nomination belongs to Clinton.
He needs the money and the ground troops, Clinton is back she will have money and if Barack cannot rally the troops it's over. The hope was to knock her out of the fight tonight, obviously that didn't happen, it's probably going to be a long hard slog from now until Denver.
That has the potential to strengthen Barack, but I have no doubt McCain will take advantage every chance he gets. But it obviously goes on. anyway it is late and past time for me to get some sleep. Congratulations on the much deserved victory.

even the Republicans admitted that McCain would be hard-pressed to stay in the news for the next several weeks. The Democrats are the big, interesting story right now. McCain won't be able to sharpen his message, because he doesn't know who he'll be running against.
Meanwhile, both Hillary and Obama will have a change to fine-tune their message to not only how they can beat each other but how they can beat McCain.
Don't want to minimize your disppointment and sadness, though. Sucks to see an opportunity to clinch (as opposed to "cinch" as Yahoo is describing it - WHO is on the editorial desk????) move past like this. If nothing else, though, the nominee will emerge with a much stronger ground game, a much more grounded public persona, and a much stronger drive to win, having survived the next seven weeks.
Rev. Obama had a speech in 2002.
How anyone trusts him on Iraq is simply beyond me. Rev. Obama gets no sympathy from me, nor his supporters.

bathed and in their beds. I'll check in when lights are out... hopefully within the hour!
Wes Clark Democrats...let the Clinton campaign know who sent you

they do. Poor kids have been sort of ignored since 2/14. ;-) Especially this week... I'm either on the phone or on the computer. Even my DH misses me!
Wes Clark Democrats...let the Clinton campaign know who sent you
for making them socially aware at a tender age and for doing all you could to preserve their social security!
small under 1% in
they are cautioning "Very early"
Ugh.
I hate the TX caucus thingy.
I will pay no mind to these early numbers....

Clinton 58% Obama 35% on Politico?

I checked TWICE and that's ^^ what it said! :(
Now it's opposite.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
you can see as counties report
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/county/#TXDEMMAPprimary
HRC is the light blue.
The map looks prettier than the numbers!
and it tells you the numbers from each district as they are reported. In her win areas she is whopping him big time it looks like!
Check it out.

It's those big cities that'll kill her, huh?
Bad news on the dinner front -- just went to stir the risotto and noticed -- D'OH -- the oven was turned OFF!!! Have no idea when I did that, but the pork cutlets are sitting there in a lukewarm oven... Hahahaha!!! Blogging, election watching and making dinner -- don't mix.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
I really hope they had multi lingual instructions for the caucuses too as the stats of Spanish speaking in the home there were significant.
But yeah, where she is winning she seems to be doing so by LARGE margins!
I like the maps.
Sorry about your dinner! And I was so hungry. Now I have to wait...

Holding GREAT HOPE for TX!! Oh, and dinner won't be too delayed -- the cutlets are fairly thin and should be done about when the risotto is. Dad's like clockwork about coming upstairs at 5:30 looking for his dinner! LOL!!
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Clinton 62% Obama 35%
TX:
Obama 56% Clinton 42%

Clinton 62
Obama 36
still cautioning us not that much in though.
Caucuses are starting now in Texas. CNN is going to an Austin caucus now. Wow- crowded.... I wish we could just end this outdated caucus thing.
Didn't they call Wisconsin after a few thousand votes or something ridiculous?
That drives me crazy.
Showing the TX map on CNN now.

Interesting that in the Hillary winning counties she is way ahead of O. In the O wins, not as heavy of a win, except in the big cities.
Tx. polls not closed yet ..for 15 min

"It takes two to speak the truth - one to speak and one to hear." - Henry David Thoreau
Shouldn't they be reporting now?
PS Texas 56-43 O!
Wolf says - word coming in about "irregularities" in OHIO...
I have predicted this one since we started the primaries.
If she looks like she's way ahead- it's fraud, it's disenfranchisement or it's irregularities.
It's so transparent it's not even funny anymore.
over something or other in Texas.
I'll just be glad when this is over...it will be over someday won't it???
:)
So many that the Texas Democratic Party issued a legal bulletin early in the day. There will be challenges of the caucus votes during the County/Senate district conventions.
1) Numerous instances of Obama supporters filing out precinct convention sign-in sheets during the day and submitting them as completed vote totals at caucus. This is expressly against the rules. The sign-in sheets were copied by the Obama campaign from the Texas Democratic Party website and taken by supporters to various polling places to sign-up caucus goers prior to the start of the caucuses
The TDP shut that down with a legal ruling
2) The Obama camp was trying to force out-of-staters into roles as Temporary Caucus chairs. That's completely illegal.
The TDP shut that down too.
Also during the caucuses:
4) Irregularities: Prematurely Taking Precinct Convention Packets by
Obama Campaign
Numerous calls have shown that Obama supporters prematurely removed convention packets from polling places. Packets may not legally given out until 7:15 PM or when the last voter has cast a ballot in the primary. The Texas State Party warned the Obama campaign in writing that they may not take these packets early or remove them from the polling locations. The Party directed that these irregularities be reported to law enforcement "since they amount to criminal violations." The Party stated "removing convention packets . . . will not be tolerated."
A sampling of the precincts where this occurred are:
659 – Tarrant
709 – Houston
2316 – Tarrant
1205 – Dallas
3127 – Bexar
3082 – Fort Bend
18/224 – Harris
3221 – Dallas
87 – El Paso
851 – Houston
115 - Harris
470 – Galveston
388 – Harris
3000 – Dallas
1214 – Dallas
20 – Medina
205 – Walker
5) Voter Intimidation: Lock-out of Clinton caucus goers by Obama Campaign
Numerous calls have been received that the Obama campaign has taken over caucus sites and locked the doors, excluding Clinton campaign supporters from participating in the caucus. The Clinton supporters have been unable to enter the premises to caucus. In at least one instance, law enforcement was called and forcibly opened the caucus site.
A sampling of the precincts where this occurred are:
4401 – Dallas
2052 – Tarrant
4402 – Dallas
75 – Harris
18 – Hardin
259 – Harris
124 – Nueces
4050 – Tarrant
115 – Harris
6 – Roma County
78 – Jefferson
117 – Denton
No reports of Clinton supporters doing anything remotely similar. The Obama camps' overly aggressive behavior will come back to bite.
Hmmm. You know who will be blamed for this. There were also reported caucus irregularities in Texas with people signing in early, before the alloted time. Those caucus crowds look ripe for misbehavin'.
and brought up Houston election fraud - Yes, THAT Kos~!
However you won't hear another peep about that if O! takes Houston. Houston- we no longer have a problem is what you will hear.
C'mon TEXAS! Wake UP!!

In two different communities, Cleveland..where his votes are bigger and the capital where more votes for him. Cleveland extended to 9:00

enough ballots? Haven't they been reading the newspapers about the extraordinary turn-out during the primaries?
"It takes two to speak the truth - one to speak and one to hear." - Henry David Thoreau
In my county in Virginia. On primary day they misunderestimated and ran out of ballots so 299 people voted on scrap paper, and it was ruled they don't count. We have a big brouha-ha now. Stoopid.
Cleveland got even more ice than we did, and ran out of ballots in some localities.
Not surprising that the polls were kept open.
I lose my appetite.
He could come in handy to fit into my jeans.
I may not even be able to eat Jen's risotto.

Well, it was delicious, and there's leftovers! :D
I don't know how you stand the talking heads on the teevee!! I like watching here, the polls and Jeralyn and Bit Tent Dem are live blogging the results, discussing exit polls, the talking heads on various stations, etc.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
with only 2% reporting
Have I mentioned I HATE Bill Bennett?
I don't like when they call them so fast.
But a win- I'll take it!
Now let's count... 1-2-3-4-5
OK, I predict there are now hundreds of bloggers about to descend on Rhode Island to investigate the "rumored" election theft there.
Like NH, they vote on PAPER so if they have their gripes again... if someone wants to recount, and pay, they at least have ballots to count.
It's covered in Clinton blue!
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/county/#TXDEMMAPprimary
She's got to pull better numbers in the primaries (the only votes being reported from there now) to have a buffer zone when the caucuses come in....that's BO's stronghold.
Oh and btw- I really can't stand Bill Bennett.

She's taking ALL the little counties by pretty big margins! Won't they all add up to overtake the big cities?
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

She sure is taking over the rural counties, by big margins.
Only the major cities are going BO, and the margins so far aren't that big. They have a low votes coming in.
Hillary 53
Hope 46
Texas meanwhile has been totally stalled for a long time with only 2% reporting. Weird...
I hate these kinds of stories. So sick. If it's true I hope they get the perps and make them pay big time.
The other thing we need to watch out for is that band of uber paranoid Kossack who is thinking everyone is a shadowy evil Clintonista operative out to kill or steal. They tend to jump to lots of incorrect conclusions and see things in mid air...

Texas is making me nervous. My fingernails are already down to the nub. Go Hillary! Go Pony Go!
but not sure what you mean!
I post lots of images but don't recall a dancing one...
Anyone?
Of course I am so hungry my brain is not functioning well. Can't eat until Texas move up more...
