Barack Obama | DNC | Hillary Clinton | Democratic politics

Hope Mr. Martinez doesn't mind me poaching the whole thing, because he so speaks for me.
Sticking With Hillary
by Gilbert Martinez
March 21st, 2008I’m not ready to give up. Hillary is not a quitter and I don’t intend to be one either. Everywhere I look it seems like someone is saying why Hillary cannot win. “The math” isn’t there (remember Karl Rove’s “the math”?). There will be riots if she’s the nominee. Al Gore will come in and save the day by nominating Obama at the convention. That Hillary is going to get abucted by aliens from Trafalmadore and have to give up on the race.
I’ll let you all in on a little theory I have: The Obama campaign and their supporters in the liberal blogosphere/MSM are scared–really, really scared–that Obama is going to get trounced in the next month or two and that Hillary will get the nomination. They are going out of their way to imply over and over that Hillary needs to drop out now to save the Party. Heck, they are trying to pretend they are going disenfranchise and/or ignore over 2,000,000 Democratic voters to make it seem less likely she can win.
Excuse me, but I’m not falling for it. There’s no way the Democratic Party survives without counting voters in FL and MI, so unless the DNC wants to be in their last year, I think its silly to think they won’t be counted. We still have PA, where Hillary is running strong. She is making gains in North Carolina. She is dominating West Virginia. She is on the rise nationally and Obama is falling. Yet they are still trying to force Hillary out of this before people’s votes are counted. Everyone needs to have a “cup of tea” or a glass of wine and calm down. Let’s let the voters have their say. I’m not afraid of that.
Hillary is in it to win it and I’m sticking with her. This party is just getting started, baby!

And he's absolutely correct! They are so desperate for her to drop out it's almost funny. Except it's not funny because with Corpress on their side (for now), we've got an upHill battle! If the consequences weren't so dire, it would almost be worth it to see O win the nomination and sit back and watch the regressives and their lapdog press have at him. It won't be pretty but unfortunately he'll deserve every second of it.

...a Lefty Blogosphere who came to being because of the stolen election in FL in 2000.
It blows my mind that they are willing to do the exact same thing in this primary so their candidate comes out on top.
We have seen the enemy and he is us.

the money.
They all said Hillary had to win BOTH TX and OH in order to stay in this race and make it to PA. And she did. So neener neener.
They're scared all right. "The One" is sinking like a stone. Tarnished beyond repair for the GE. And Hillary is in it to win it.
Steady as she goes.
I'll have the wine. ;)
She still has the best platform, the best plans for our country. She has a warm, sincere attitude. I've developed a habit of changing channels a lot. Tired of the negative media and pundits.
Thank you for the uplifting post.

An excellent post. My one thought is that if BO gets the nomination, he won't beat McCain in the GE. Such a defeat will take him out of the presidential pool, I think, even for 2012 (McCain is saying he will only serve 1 term.). Should HC want to run again that year, she likely wouldn't have to deal with BO then. Or maybe Napolitano (who irked me by supporting BO, but whom I like OK otherwise) would run in 2012.
If BO does get the nomination, I don't know what I will do--as of now, I have no intention of voting for him, nor for McCain. Nader??
I do think HC has somehow to win the popular vote to get the nomination. Hopefully they will give her the FL and MI votes at the convention.
What a mess the DNC has created.
The General gets it right.
Competence--What a concept!

If the decision about what to do about Florida and Michigan goes to the convention floor, the Obama people are likely to have a majority, especially without those states, and they'll throw the two states under the bus. Clinton's chance is to work the problem before the convention and get it resolved ahead of time. The Obama people aren't going to give Hillary the time of day.

Thanks, Stan. At least we know that HC will put every bit of effort she can into doing all she can in every upcoming primary.

They can expect a reciprocal response. As in, what goes around, comes around. It's so apparent that BO has not wanted them to have their say because it hurts him. Then, why should they go out of their way to vote for him? I've heard people interviewed that indicate this would be the outcome. However, I fully believe that should he be the outright nominee, he'll seat them. Period. Once he knows Hillary can't get them. Without the Sunshine State and Michigan, he loses the general. That is, if he even gets that far.

at the leftwing blogs I've dared to visit, that this is Hillary's plan. They believe she knows she can't win the nomination and is only staying in to damage Obama so he can't win the GE. Her plan is to get McCain in so she can run in 2012. They honestly think if she wasn't in the picture, O would win the GE with no problem. They are setting it up so that if he's the nom, when he loses the GE, it will be ALL her fault.

And, though I certainly think his media worshippers would blame her if he somehow got the nomination and then lost the GE(which he definitely would). He would be able to lose big all by his lonesome, and then Hillary will be poised for next time. Savy politicos and commentators have to see the extent of the damage inflicted upon him, but they continue to slaver like cultists!

but if you check in at the O supporting blogs, that is what they think. And really, it's the perfect setup for themselves, because IF O's the nominee, he WILL lost the GE, and they will honestly believe their own lies. Corpress will no doubt agree.
