ALL LINKS OPEN A NEW WINDOW!!!
Front and center this week will be The Economy (stupid) as The Fed passes out chits to JPMC to BAIL OUT Bear Stearns for $2/share and cuts its OVERNIGHT rate by 75 basis points to 2.25% but if you're being foreclosed on you're CHIT out of luck! And Veep DARTH CHENEY said "SO?" To figure out how we got here, Brick TeeVee recommends "The Bubble Economy" at the American Prospect from LAST FALL. So-called experts include JON KYL & CHUCK SHUMER on This George and CNBC's MARIA BARTIROMO & ERIN BURNETT on Meet the Timeh. Fire yer bricks at GROVER "drown government in the bathtub" NORQUIST on Wolfie. As we creep toward 4,000 US deaths in the War on Terra, Face the Bob invites Sen. LINDSEY GRAHAM (fresh off his carpet buying trip to Baghdad with JOHN "Crazy Train" MCCAIN) & Sen. Jack Reed from Armed Services Committee to find out if domestic carpet prices will be heading lower. Being Easter Weekend, Brick TeeVee expects much talk about OBAMA's "The Speech" on all the roundtables but nary a mention of the THOUSANDS that protested the 5th Anniversary of the ILLEGAL INVASION AND OCCUPATION OF IRAQ. The significance is not lost on our antiwar friends in Europe as Over 100 anti-war protesters are arrested at NATO HQ in Brussels. For yer Campaign Surrogate Update you'll have to cross over to Fake News for ED RENDELL and BILL RICHARDSON or U-Boat Captain Blitzer and JANET NEPALITANO & EVAN BAYH. And Good Luck figuring out the Dem Delegate Equation. Brick TeeVee predicts a BROKERED CONVENTION, but the "brokering" will NOT happen on Denver's Convention Floor. Can you say "smoke-filled back room"? Watch the 60 Minutes segment on saving the world's biological fauna seed footprint in "The DOOMSDAY VAULT" and rely on Reality Radio with Massa, Seder and Ring of Fire. The Brick TeeVee crew is glued to the NCAA Tourney to get away from the political and economic craziness and get into March Madness, going 24-8 in the first round! Our WEST Bracket got smoked when Duke lost to WVA so we hold out for the Miami 'Canes to make it to the Finals.

Brick TeeVee - THEY report. YOU throw bricks. ©
"HAD ENOUGH?"
but somehow 'upstart' doesn't sound right! Mebbe if Belmont had beaten them first, but the Mountaineers an UPSTART?
Who do we play next, when????

I like #12 'Nova but they'll get whacked by the Jay Hawks in Detroit in the next round. But ya never know!
Two Big Ten teams are still alive, Mich St & Wisconsin.
Up-to-date BRACKETOLOGY

Even though I'm Sooner born and Sooner bred, and when I die I'll be Sooner dead, I'm a huge Jayhawk fan in basketball. Those people have been doing it right for decades. I was in humbled awe when I went to the first game in Phogg Allen Fieldhouse, located on Naismith Drive. (I had the same feeling when I went to a game at Pauley Pavillion at UCLA about 20 years ago.)
1988 (I think) was my banner year, when KU and OU made it to the finals. It almost caused my family to explode.
Jan (now my ex) and I were living in Wichita but were thinking of moving to Colorado. We learned that a successful natural fabric dress shop was for sale in Colorado Springs, so, with 15-year-old daughter in tow we headed out to investigate.
Well, we decided that retail wasn't our thing, so I said it was time to check into the hotel so I could watch the finals while they did whatever two women would do. Jan, however, noted that if we headed home, we could get home about midnight.
"Absolutely not," I forcefully said. "We made a deal so I could watch the game, so you two have a ball."
Of course daughter, another female, joined forces with Jan, making the vote 2-1, as were all such votes regarding sports in my house, unless the other daughter then made them 3-1. I had to cash my sports chips carefully, 'cause I didn't have many of them.
Back and forth we went. "We're staying!" I would shout. "No, we're going home!" two musical voices would say in unison.
Well, you know what we did. We started out. I was frantically looking for radio stations that would carry the game in the Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas boonies. No luck. Game time was coming dangerously close as we approached the thriving metropolis of Limon, Colorado.
Where, we saw, that I-70 was closed on account of a blizzard that had come through earlier in the day. We found about the last motel room in the town, bought some beer and pop, ordered a couple of pizzas, and I was happy as a clam, family relationships restored.
The basketball God looked down lovingly on me.
KU won the game under coach Larry Brown and star Danny Manning. OU played valiantly under coach Billy Tubbs and star Waymon Tisdale. It was a good game, the better team won, and all was right with the world.

Most of the time yer previews are tenfold more entertaining and informative than them shows. Will be informative to see the gab ratio between reverend Wrigth-related stories and other topics. There are other issues, right?

Grinning ear-to-ear, Lindsey Graham proclaimed this moring of Face the Nation, "I love John McCain and I want him to be the next president of the United States."
(click his name for more info - Graham is up for re-election and statements like this one could be damaging.)
I'll look for the transcript for more, including the roundtable calling Senator Clinton "Miss Trainwreck".
The first and dominating topic in their discussion: the reverend, the speech, and the short and long term consequences. At least two of the talkers said in the same breath that the speech may have worked short-term, may have saved his chances for the nomination, but that the issue will resurface in the general. Hello!

Grover Norquist thinks we need LESS regulation of the banking industry!!! He said (paraphrasing), "We're still undoing the government regulations from the 1930's". What a nut! The fact is it was EXACTLY the brakes put on banks and investment firms that stabilized the banking system during the Great Depression. NOW the unregulated banks have no oversight and are their own paid off referees!
I'll look for the transcript later, because Norquist made some absolutely BIZARRE claims.

Sunday should be entertaining, as the four teams playing in Tampa are seeded 12-13 and 12-13. Two the the games were in overtime Friday. The Sweet Sixteen is guaranteed to have to low seeds among the 16. So far, though, all the teams seeded first and second have advanced except for Duke, beaten by upstart West Virginia. Congratulations, Ellen.
This is Holy Season, and it has nothing to do with the religious calendar.
I'll be pulling for the Sooners and Longhorns Sunday, to keep three teams from the Big 12, along with already-victorious Kansas, in the Sweet Sixteen. Texas A&M lost a heartbreaker to UCLA tonight, after leading most of the second half. My sympathies go out to John, Kat, and Clay Oeffinger.
