Transcript & Video: Keith Olbermann made fun of Hillary's supporters on April 23

Hello Everyone:

Keith Olbermann in my opinion very clearly made fun of and insulted Hillary Clinton's supporters on Countdown last night when he referred to them as being "the bitter, blue collar, bowling, beer drinking female snipers over 65."  Here is the Countdown transcript from Wednesday, April 23 to verify these comments:

'Countdown with Keith Olbermann' for Wednesday, April 23
Read the transcript to the Wednesday show

Guests: Chuck Todd, Howard Fineman, Richard Wolffe, Rachel Maddow, Paul Mecurio

KEITH OLBERMANN, HOST: "Perhaps it‘s the latest in micro-demographics.  Senator Clinton already has the bitter, blue collar, bowling, beer drinking female snipers over 65 all locked up.  Senator Obama needs to absolutely positively nail down the newly energized, college educated young men who, in our number one story on the COUNTDOWN, dress alike and maybe even shop together.

It was hardly his best speech to begin with.  Senator Obama, in Evansville, Indiana last night after his loss in Pennsylvania, assuring supporters that they were next in choosing the candidate who will truly—wait a minute, behind him a theme emerges.  Or else a very ill conceived plan, three guys, three t-shirts, all of them various products produced by Abercrombie and Fitch..."

The context of these comments was an introduction to an almost unrelated segment about a supposed "ill conceived plan, three guys, three t-shirts, all of them various products produced by Abercrombie and Fitch" at an Obama rally.

Here is the Countdown video link where Keith Olbermann made these comments right at the beginning of this video:

Each person will have to decide for themselves if this comment was an insult or not on the part of Keith Olbermann to Hillary's supporters but it definitely was in my opinion!

If you agree with me that Keith Olbermann's comment was insulting, then please feel free to contact the executives at MSNBC and Keith Olbermann's media relations person Alana Russo using the following information to let them know how you feel:

Keith Olbermann more than likely gets thousands of e mails every day that he may never read so directly contacting MSNBC and Alana Russo is probably the best way to insure that your voice is heard!

I will NEVER consider Keith Olbermann to be credible ever again even after this Democratic primary is over.  He has lost all of my respect forever and I will continue to monitor and expose him in the exact same way that I do with Rush Limbaugh and with other extremists just like him!

Please forward this information on so that more Democratic primary voters and superdelegates will know that Keith Olbermann is clearly biased toward Barack Obama which makes him NOT credible when he comments on Hillary Clinton!

I'd like to tell him precisely what I think of him. Which is, Keith, not at all. You're not even a blip on my radar, Mr. Olbermann. You're negativity is gonna get you in the end.

Good luck with that, and best to your Mom.

Mr. Olbermann,

I have been a cheerleader for you and your program for quite some time and written many notes of appreciation. I even "forced" my skeptical journalism-trained son to watch your visit with Bill Moyers in hopes of converting him.

Guess what? His skepticism has proved correct and my adulation has proved to be misplaced. I've had enough of your anti-Clinton bias. It's ugly, pure and simple, and destroys your Morrow shtick. (I am old enough to remember Morrow, even before his television years.)

Please leave your problem with strong older women at the door when you come to work. It's unbecoming and undermines anything else you might have to say.

By the way, if you're still reading (I doubt it), here is what General Wesley Clark, whom you once seemed to admire, had to say about Clinton's Bosnia trip to a woman who was driving him around during one of the campaign trips, as relayed to his supporters:

"The Bosnia thing came up and Gen. Clark said how it was a very dangerous situation she was flying into. That there WERE snipers in the foothills. That there were blackhawk helicopters flying above and tanks lining the perimeter. Even if there wasn't any actualy sniper fire happening at the time, there was a REAL threat of it. That kind of thing doesn't leave you."

I can understand how the republicans feel about Olbermann. His arrogance and all knowing superiority have worn out their welcome.

It's just that before the 2008 primary season, we agreed with him. I thought some of his anti-Bush/administration Special Comments were over the top, too. He gets enthralled with his over-convoluted prose at the expense of clarity. I suspect that lots of people wondered what the hell he was saying.

and it's hard to admit it, but his style has always been arrogant and haughty... Now it's just arrogant and haughty while bashing a fellow Dem instead of Bush Cheney...

I guess it's a good exercise for us to see how things sound from the 'other side'.

Hi Sue!

I noticed early on watching Countdown that Craig
Crawford, then a frequent guest, seemed unbiased
in his reporting, and being the odd man out would ocassionally stick up for Hillary.

Then I noticed he went poof--he was a goner! He did show up on Morning Joe yesterday and it was such a
relief to see him. Again, very fair minded and
not polluted by Msnbc Hillary Hatred.

General Clark has an MSNBC contract as an analyst and I think since the endorsement he's been on only once. Maybe twice tops.

Poof! ;)

Dear Keith,

I can't believe it, but you've left me no choice. I'm now watching Fox instead of Olbermann. Your recent bias and undisguised misogyny makes O'Reilly look truly "Fair and Balanced". Frightening!
