Rapid Response
Hello Everyone:
Barack Obama showed again in this campaign speech from last Saturday, April 26 that he has no concept or understanding about the kind of fight that he will be in for and how to effectively fight back against the other side in the general election IF he is the nominee:

BALLOT BOWL 2008
Campaigning Continues in Indiana and North Carolina
Aired April 26, 2008 - 15:00 ET
JIM ACOSTA, CNN NEWS ANCHOR: "Welcome back to BALLOT BOWL on CNN, I'm Jim Acosta in Anderson, Indiana, where Barack Obama is just about to wrap up a speech and town hall meeting here at this high school in central Indiana. He, just a few moments ago, talked about the rhetoric, how it has been heating up out in the campaign trail. Some of the jabs from Hillary Clinton, he says, is having no affect on his campaign and he insists that despite the tit-for-tat he is not going to respond in kind. And just a few moments ago he fired up this crowd when he said sometimes when you have to be tough you don't fight back. Here's Barack Obama.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BARACK OBAMA (D), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: As I said, John McCain and I have real differences but I always make a point of saying, I respect him as a person, I respect his service to our country, I think she a good person. I don't -- so question have arguments and disagreements without running the other person down.
(APPLAUSE)
But -- but, you know, that requires a president who has the confidence to stand there and -- sometimes you take some hits. I mean, even during this campaign, I've been taking some hits. And, you know, people -- it's interesting, when I don't always hit back, then folks are, what's the matter with him? How come -- maybe he's not mean enough? Maybe he's not tough enough. You know, one of the things I learned in the schoolyard was the folks who were talking tough all the time, they're not always that tough.
(APPLAUSE)
Right? If you're really tough, if you're really tough, you're not always looking to try to start a fight. If you're really tough, sometimes you just walk away. If you're really tough, sometimes you know, you just save it for when you really need it. And so what I'm interested in, I'm not interested in fighting people just for the sake of scoring political points or getting on the cable news shows. If I'm going to fight somebody, it's going to be fighting over the American people, and what they need. I'll fight for healthcare. I'll fight for a good education system. I'll fight to make sure that people have good jobs and good wages. I'll fight to the death to make sure that America is safe, those things I'll fight for, that's what I'll fight about.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ACOSTA: And Barack Obama insisting there that when he fights it's for the people, not in the midst of the political campaign going one on one with an opponent. So Barack Obama, despite the fact he has come under heavy criticism, even within some Democratic circles, for not responding in kind for the tough attacks coming from Hillary Clinton. Barack Obama saying, that no, he's going to keep his powder dry in the midst of this campaign and keep things on an even keel..."
The problem with Obama's reasoning is that you cannot just ignore what the other side does to you in a general election fight because you are allowing them to negatively define you as a candidate before middle America and these are the key people in the center who untimately decide close elections!
That is exactly what happened to John Kerry in 2004 when he ignored the Swiftboat Veterans for too long and when he allowed them to negatively define him as a candidate which Campbell Brown of CNN credibly documented:

Campaign Killers: Why Do Negative Ads Work?
Aired November 28, 2007 - 23:00 ET
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: "John Kerry lied to get his bronze star. I know. I was there. I saw what happened.
CAMPBELL BROWN, HOST: There was plenty of evidence to contradict the ad, but it didn't matter. The charges seemed to stick.
MARK MCKINNON, FMR. MEDIA ADVISER, GEORGE W. BUSH: I knew it was going to have a huge impact, and the only surprise was that the Kerry campaign didn't respond quicker.
STEPHANIE CUTTER, KERRY CAMPAIGN COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR: In retrospect, we probably should have had him respond earlier. And there was much debate about that in the campaign..."
Obama is DEAD WRONG when he said "You know, one of the things I learned in the schoolyard was the folks who were talking tough all the time, they're not always that tough" because the Neocon GOP attack machine IS that tough as Mark Halperin and John Harris very credibly documented:

"The bottom line was that the Bush campaign and its allies did a better job than the Kerry campaign and its allies in using the Freak Show -- its magnification of the personal and negative -- to define the opposing candidate. But the story as told in this chapter is a tactical one. What is more important for the next presidential election is the strategic reality that the Freak Show does not affect both parties equally.
The dynamic in 2008 will be the same as it was in 2004. There are structural issues in politics and media that now favor Republicans over Democrats. Freak Show politics will represent only a moderate threat to Republicans and give them a major advantage as they try to define the opposition on unfavorable terms. On the other side, Freak Show politics offers virtually no advantages for Democrats, but will again present a huge threat to any politician hoping to keep control of the narrative of his -- or her -- life story..."
I articulated further about that book in this post:

Obama also does NOT understand how powerful that Rush Limbaugh and his extreme right wing Neocon talk radio media empire is which will steamroll over him in the general election IF he is the nominee:

Obama will NOT be able to avoid that schoolyard fight in the general election because there will NOT be any teachers or parents around for him to run to and cry foul or unfair which I credibly documented:

Mitt Romney is right that Obama "can't be calling foul or unfair" IF nominated!

Biased pro-Obama media pundits such as Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and Jack Cafferty cannot help Obama in the general election the way that they are helping him in the Democratic primary because many more disillusioned Republicans and right leaning Independents in the center watch FOX News instead of them!
Nick Kelly in my opinion is right about how that the extreme right wing assault on Barack Obama is already starting right now:

Guests: John Baer, Michael Smerconish, E. Steven Collins, Ron Brownstein, Roger Simon, Jonathan Capehart, Joan Walsh
CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: "It‘s a giant permission slip for somebody who doesn‘t want to vote for him to begin with. And it‘s also a permission slip for the Republican party to use him as a target throughout the general election. Right, Joan?
JOAN WALSH, SALON.COM: Yes, this definitely proves, as Jonathan said, that nothing Hillary has done to date is really even a tenth of what will happen to him in the general election. It‘s not a reason not to nominate him, because she will have—we can all sit around and write the attack ads on her. It‘s going to be a nasty race. The one thing she has is that she‘s faced it before and she‘s fought back..."
This is probably a very good reason along with demographics about why Dana Bash of CNN, who is a truly objective reporter, said that the McCain campaign "are beginning to think that Hillary Clinton would be a much more formidable opponent at this point than Barack Obama is:"

DANA BASH, CNN CONGRESSIONAL CORRESPONDENT: "But there's an interesting kind of addendum I think to this whole gaming it out inside the McCain camp and that is while they do think, and they have concluded that this Democratic race going on actually does help John McCain, they are saying that if Hillary Clinton actually pulls it out ultimately, and does win the Democratic nomination, they are starting to think, looking at various things with regard to the map and with regard to the kind of Democratic voters she can pulling her way in thighs primary contests, they actually are beginning to think that Hillary Clinton would be a much more formidable opponent at this point than Barack Obama is..."
Democratic primary voters and superdelegates in my opinion are very seriously risking political suicide IF they give the nomination to Obama because the evidence very clearly shows that he is probably NOT electable under normal circumstances!
Change is only change IF a candidate can get elected so Obama will NOT be able to change anything if he cannot get elected just like how John Kerry could not change anything after he lost to Bush in 2004. Unfortunately there is a lot more on the line now in 2008 than there was back in 2004 after all of the damage that Bush and Cheney have caused which makes this an extremely important choice for the superdelegates to make in my opinion when they eventually choose the nominee!
Right below is the ExposeObama.com website which is just the tip of the iceberg of what is to come that will probably sink Obama in the general election IF he is the nominee because he has no concept or understanding about how to fight back against them when they negatively define him as a candidate before middle America. This is what the superdelegates must come to understand about Obama right now while there is still time!

Obama’s Critique of Small Towns Reveals Truths

Barack Obama said the people in the small towns of Pennsylvania "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them". He spoke aloud what many liberals think. His remarks in San Francisco, which have now come to be known as "Bittergate," are very telling about the man.

Here is the transcript of a very interesting report that Brian Todd of CNN did going into further detail about this story last Wednesday, April 23:

THE SITUATION ROOM
Clinton Seeks Bounce Back from Pennsylvania Win; North Carolina Ad: Obama 'Too Extreme'; Race Nastiness Taking a Toll
Aired April 23, 2008 - 16:00 ET
WOLF BLITZER, CNN ANCHOR: "While the Democrats face a close fight in Indiana, polls suggest Barack Obama has North Carolina's May 6th primary largely in the bag. We'll see. That's what the polls show right now, but those polls can change.
Now Republicans in that state are targeting Obama directly. They're trying to portray him as an extremist in an attempt to bring some local Democrats down.
Let's go to Brian Todd. He's following this story for us.
Brian, there's a new ad that's out. John McCain is actually calling this Republican ad offensive. What's going on?
BRIAN TODD, CNN CORRESPONDENT: He does call it offensive, Wolf, says it doesn't live up to the high standards the Republicans should hold themselves to in this campaign. But the truth is that ad in North Carolina does mirror a few others.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
TODD (voice over): Meet Barack Obama, the Republican's new media star.
NARRATOR: A vote for Don Cazayoux a vote for Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Obama and Pelosi voted to raise income taxes. So did Don Cazayoux.
TODD: Cazayoux, a Democrat running for Congress in Louisiana, has not endorsed Obama or any other candidate. But an official with the National Republican Congressional Committee, which put out this ad, say they believe it's fair to compare Cazayoux's record on taxes with Obama, who they characterize as far out of the mainstream.
Obama is becoming more of a fixture in these Republican ads, and GOP strategists say his primary success means he'll be a springboard for more attacks on Democratic candidates lower down on the ballot. They also say Obama's recent rating as the most liberal U.S. senator adds fuel.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Some of the rock star qualities have paved over some of those considerations. But over the next few months, it's going to become clear that he's way too extreme, an extreme liberal, to be elected president in the United States.
TODD: Obama campaign officials wouldn't go beyond saying Americans are tired of divisive politics. But the Republican National Committee and John McCain are going one step further.
They've asked the North Carolina GOP to stop running this ad just unveiled using Obama's association with Pastor Jeremiah Wright to attack two Democratic candidates for governor.
PASTOR JEREMIAH WRIGHT: Not God bless America. God (EXPLETIVE DELETED) America...
NARRATOR: Now Beth Perdue and Richard Moore endorsed Barack Obama. They should know better.
TODD: In a letter to North Carolina's GOP chairwoman, McCain calls the ad offensive.
LARRY SABATO, UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA: It's win-win for McCain. McCain looks like a saint in denouncing the negative advertising, but he also ensures now that the media, the news media, will run that ad repeatedly for free. So the message of the ad will get out.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
TODD: A McCain campaign official calls that absolutely absurd, says any suggestion that he benefits from this situation is wrong. The official says the ads are a distraction from the real differences in this campaign -- Wolf.
BLITZER: Brian, will the North Carolina GOP actually refrain from running that ad now that John McCain and others have spoken out against it?
TODD: When he came out against that, Wolf, I spoke with officials at the North Carolina GOP. That was just a short time ago. They said they're going to go ahead with their plan to start running it next Monday. They say they respect Senator McCain and the RNC, but they think it's legitimate to question Barack Obama's judgment, and they think this ad does that very fairly.
BLITZER: Brian Todd, thank you..."
I completely agree with Larry Sabato's bottom line analysis of this situation when he said in the transcript above "It's win-win for McCain. McCain looks like a saint in denouncing the negative advertising, but he also ensures now that the media, the news media, will run that ad repeatedly for free. So the message of the ad will get out."
