Hello Everyone:
Barack Obama in my opinion very clearly showed on Meet The Press yesterday that he does NOT have any understanding or concept of the GOP attack machine and what he will be in for IF he is the nominee!
Here is the portion of the transcript where Tim Russert set up this question and where Obama gave a completely irrelevant answer to it:

'Meet the Press' transcript for May 4, 2008
MR. RUSSERT: You were in North Carolina on Tuesday, on Tuesday and talked about the tone of the campaign over the last few weeks. Let's listen.
(Videotape)
SEN. OBAMA: The other candidates aren't talking about their ideas, they're talking about me. So they're talking about, they're, they're, they're talking about what, what--who, who is he? And do we know his values, and he's not wearing a flag pin right now and, you know, his former pastor said some crazy stuff.
(End videotape)
MR. RUSSERT: You basically are outlining the kind of ads that you anticipate being run against you. In 2004, John Kerry was swiftboated.
SEN. OBAMA: Hm.
MR. RUSSERT: People challenged his patriotism, challenged his record in the U.S. military. When independent groups, so-called, come after you in the fall...
SEN. OBAMA: Right.
MR. RUSSERT: ...if you're the nominee...
SEN. OBAMA: Right.
MR. RUSSERT: ...and they talk about the flag pin and about your wife Michelle's comment about being proud for the first time in her adult life as an American, and talk about Reverend Wright saying, "God damn America," and talk about standing at the national anthem at the steak fry and not putting your hand over your heart, all those things, challenging your patriotism...
SEN. OBAMA: Mm-hmm.
MR. RUSSERT: ...many superdelegates, undecided ones, have said to me, "Is he tough enough?"
SEN. OBAMA: Mm-hmm.
MR. RUSSERT: "How is he going to respond? How is he going to defend or define his patriotism?"
SEN. OBAMA: Right.
MR. RUSSERT: What's the answer?
SEN. OBAMA: Well, first of all, you know, I have never challenged other people's patriotism. I haven't challenged Hillary Clinton's or John McCain's, and I will not stand by and allow somebody else to challenge mine. The fact that I'm running for president right now is an indication of how much I love this country, because it has given everything to me. This country has been a great source of good. I've lived overseas and seen the difference between America and what it stands for and what other countries oftentimes stand for and where they fall short. I've, I've said before, my story's not possible in any other country on earth. You know, when I think about this country, I think about my grandfather fighting in World War II in Patton's army; I think about my grandmother staying home--staying back and, and working on a bomber assembly line while she was raising a kid in--as, as they're coming out of a depression. And, and so this country is the--it defines, for me, what's possible for not just me, but for so many people who see this as a beacon of good, including my father, who originally came here seeking an education in this country. So I love this country. It is what I have been fighting for, a--that America lives up to its values and its ideals. And that's what I think the people of Indiana and that's what the people of North Carolina are looking for right now. What, what--they love this country as well, but what they've believe is that the values that have built this country, the belief in--that hard work is rewarded, that you can raise a family and have health care, and buy a home and retire with dignity and respect, that those things feel like they're slipping away. And what this campaign's about, what I think this moment is about in America is whether or not we are going to fight for those ideals that make this country great, and, and if we miss that opportunity, then I think we will be doing a disservice to future generations. So I'm happy to have a debate, an argument with the Republican Party or any of my opponents about what this country means, what makes it great. And what makes it great, ultimately, is its people and how the American people are able to live out their American dream. And right now, all too often Washington is failing in helping them to live out that American dream, and I--that's what I think this election's going to be about in November...
Obama even addressed this issue again later in the interview with another irrelevant answer:

'Meet the Press' transcript for May 4, 2008
SEN. OBAMA: You know, you asked earlier in the interview about, you know, issues of my patriotism and being attacked by Republicans. One thing I'm absolutely confident about, Tim, the more I travel around the country, people don't think of themselves first as Republicans or Democrats, they don't think of themselves first as black or white; they think of themselves as Americans. And if we can tap into that spirit and that core decency and generosity, then we can solve health care, we can solve energy. If we don't, if we're continued to be distracted by the kind of games that we see typically out of Washington, then we're going to have missed our, missed our opportunity..."

Can anyone tell me what any of Obama's answer has to do with the specifics about how he will effectively fight back against the GOP attack machine IF he is the nominee? I cannot see it!
Can anyone also tell me specifically what Barack Obama is going to do differently this time that John Kerry, Al Gore, and Michael Dukakis did not do before when they lost? I cannot see it!
This irrelevant answer about enemy attacks is part of a very consistent pattern on the part of Obama as I have credibly and thoroughly documented:

The superdelegates in my very strong opinion are literally risking political suicide and a repeat of John Kerry's swiftboating that lead to his defeat in 2004 IF they give Obama the nomination!

The next cartoon in my opinion should probably be a picture of where Obama is knocked out on the floor, there are x's over his eyes, and the referee is holding up Rush Limbaugh's hand as the winner of the fight because that is what is very likely to happen IF Obama is the nominee:

Even Laura Ingraham of extreme right wing talk radio very clearly understands that when she fears Hillary and said "If we didn’t have talk radio in the last election, John Kerry would be president:"

AMERICAN MORNING
Interview With Senator Barack Obama; Unexpected Threat Killing and Injuring U.S. Troops in Iraq; Sign of Troubled Economy; Cyclone Over the Weekend in Myanmar; Death of a Champion
Aired May 5, 2008 - 06:00 ET
JOHN ROBERTS, CNN ANCHOR: "Senator, you have really been pounded by the Clinton campaign during this primary process, but a lot of people believe that that's nothing compared to what you would face should you become the nominee and have to go up against John McCain in the general election. Some analysts have noted that you have a little bit of a glass chin when it comes to these attacks. The last month that you've had this primary campaign, many people say has not been your best. What are you going to do if you become the nominee to fend off attacks that will come at you from the Republican side?
SEN. BARACK OBAMA (D) PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: John, I think as you have said, we have probably taken as many hits as anybody has in this presidential campaign. Senator Clinton has not. John McCain certainly has not and yet I'm still here and, you know, competitive in both North Carolina and Indiana. So we feel very confident about the fact that the American people are interested in who's going to be fighting for them. Who's going to make sure that they're living out their American dream? Who's going to make sure that college is affordable for their kids, that jobs are here and that's, you know, ultimately what this is about. This is not about me and you know, certainly, you know, one of the things I'm confident about is that during the course of this campaign, as long as I stay focused on what people are caring about every single day, then our campaign's going to be just fine. More importantly, I think we can mobilize the American people to start meeting some of the challenges that lie ahead..."
A lot of this are the same things in principle that he told Tim Russert on Meet The Press which are NOT a serious answer to this very important question about Obama's lack of electability!
Hillary is basically also having to be "politically correct" as a Democratic candidate so she cannot attack Obama to even nearly the same extent that Obama will get attacked by the other side in the general election IF he is the nominee which is why John Roberts said about Hillary's attacks "that's nothing compared to what you would face should you become the nominee and have to go up against John McCain in the general election:"

Hillary is not attacked as much as he is, he's a fighter, and he's mobilizing the American people. Right.

CBS: 'Unpatriotic' Works, Even Against Purple Heart-Earning Kerry
By Brent Baker | May 4, 2008 - 20:11 ET
Demonstrating how the mainstream media will view criticism of Barack Obama through the prism of past attacks on Democrats they consider illegitimate, Dean Reynolds concluded a Sunday night CBS Evening News story on Barack Obama by suggesting Democrats are well-justified in fearing Republicans will succeed in portraying Obama as “out of the mainstream,'” which Reynolds described as “code for 'unpatriotic'” in forwarding the red-herring, since it has worked “even against those who've received the purple heart.” To make his reference clear, as he spoke viewers saw video from the 2004 campaign of John Kerry.
Reynolds had relayed how Obama has “been mocking suggestions that he's out of the mainstream.” CBS then played a clip of Obama, in a stump speech, repeating the questions about him: “'We're not sure he shares our values.' 'We haven't seen him wear a flag pin lately.' 'His former pastor said some terrible things' and so, you know, 'can we really trust this guy?'”
Next, Reynolds ended his May 4 story from Indianapolis:
Of course, the criticism against Kerry in 2004 was initiated by other Vietnam veterans who doubted he properly earned the purple heart his campaign touted as a qualification over George Bush. And accusing conservatives of charging that liberals are unpatriotic is a common method liberals and some journalists, like Reynolds, use to discredit conservative criticism of the policies espoused -- and values held -- by liberals.
Which legitimate, significant political figure on the right has accused Barack Obama of being unpatriotic?
