Hillary has a ten point lead and the Yahoo news says:

Indiana race remains tight
Hillary Clinton leads in Indiana, but one county near Barack Obama's home hasn't been counted.

Since when is a ten point lead a 'tight race'? I think this is counting like Reaganomics.

Sigh! Go Hillary!

I think it's going to be like 2004 where we went to bed with Kerry ahead and woke find it had changed overnight.

Shenanigans happening in Lake County (Gary) are definitely looking like the fix is in.

So this could be it, folks. If IN flips to an Obama win, the Party will most like force Hillary out and it will be over.

I heard Lawrence O'Donnell saying on MSNBC that if Obama is the nominee, it's not a question of whether he'd pick a Hillary supporter as VP, it's which one. (I'm paraphrasing.) And he added that he's been saying for a while that it'd be "probably Wesley Clark" (although he did say there are other possibilities).

Not that Lawrence O'Donnell is a Delphic oracle or anything. But it made me feel good to hear that.

BREAKING: "Wesley Clark reportedly called Hillary tonight, urging her to drop out"

by Joe Sudbay (DC) · 5/07/2008 02:13:00 AM ET

We've just been told that General Wesley Clark, a strong Clinton supporter and fellow Arkansan, called Hillary tonight to tell her it's over.

In addition to our source, the king of the pundits, Mark Halperin, drops a tantalizing hint that something might be up with Clark: "The biggest question: Will any of her supporters (including Wes Clark) say publicly or privately she should quit?"

We like General Clark here at AMERICAblog, and have a bit of a history with him. So we hope what we're hearing is true. But the general better watch it - this could be his most dangerous mission to date. When you take on the Clintons, the sniper fire is real.

Honestly, the idea of WKC, someone so exquisitely overqualified for exactly this moment in history saving this pathetic party's sorry ____ by propping this media darling up who is so fundamentally deficient in the core competencies necessary to be the President of the United States of America... Wow. Just wow. Democrats certainly in no way deserve such consideration or effort - The American people & our troops do, but Democrats- sadly, no. Luckily Wes is a country before party guy & will take the right pieces out of their hide for any potential deals struck behind the scenes.

Beyond that our corporate paymasters & the upsidedownedly named "creative class" along with the rightwing has just about officially selected the dem 08 nominee - whether they intend to be the air beneath his wings now & let him actually have the job or not remains unclear. Considering what the next potus faces, their true motivations are an open secret.

Wes has met more challenges, overcome more barriers, transcended so many things in his life- Does he really have to now play Obi Ben Kanobi now to a bratty young figurehead? "I say transcendence... you make it happen & work out the details." Bluegrass & astroturf. Considering that in the last debate, Barack Obama professed to admire the fp of George Herbert Walker Bush specifically as a way to try to bat back against Hillary's considerable military backing & as a way to strike at Bill Clinton's fp... Considering Barack Obama was rushing off to tea with Ahmadjinead & Kim Jong-il in the first year without so much as a single concession because he frankly didn't know any better... (how could he? State legislator from Illinois) ... The guy who gave an anti-war speech then had an ad agency weave in applause & crowd noise back into it (after he put it back on his website once he won his Senate seat? That guy? Um. Yowsers.

Perhaps Larry O! should ask himself just why it is that this particular person so needs to be girded, propped up, reinforced & basically saved.

I mean- Wes has the patience of a saint. But is that anywhere near enough?

An awful parody. I'm sure we're about to piled on by the "but it makes so much sense! They're both visionary, out of the box thinkers with charisma and an academic bent and blahtedy blahtedy blah blah blah blah blah."

Luckily Wes would never confuse the message with the messenger, or the levers of power with the hand that happens to hold it.

As far as a VP goes- that might help Barack in certain key areas, but it won't be winning back women as far as I can see, and he needs millions upon millions of people back who he has already alienated or never connected with. That speech was pretty flailing last night, I thought. Should someone so feckless be saved? We already had a bullshit president for eight years.

Doesn't having John Kerry stand right next to that guy give anyone pause?

General Wes has told us. From his own lips to ms' own ears just a few weeks ago. BEFORE Hillary pummeled O! in PA and BEFORE she beat him in the "tie-breaker" of IN last night.

(in ms' own words to us):

ORDERS FROM THE GENERAL

I’m always conscious of taking too much of the General’s time in a public setting where there are so many so eager to visit with him. But each time that I sensed my ‘good will’ time had expired and I'd back off to leave, waving "Bye-Bye, General Clark!"-- Wes would elbow past some patient person in line, come up to me and start in again. Looking at me sternly and reminding me I need to keep fighting for this, for him, for Hillary.

I've never known Wes to reiterate anything so much as that afternoon, when he kept emphatically repeating:

Now look! You've got to keep fighting this! You've got to keep it up- all of you! Keep fighting. Don't give up! Don't stop!

I felt like a private first class getting my marching orders from a, er... highly motivated General! :)

-snip-

I nodded and commiserated with him, then politely started to head out again, waving goodbye....

Again-- he leaned forward and stressed:

“You’ve got to keep fighting! On the net, everywhere, you’ve got to fight this!”

Yes, General, got it... Keep fighting. : /

For those who missed it the first time....it's all right here:

http://securingamerica.com/ccn/node/15248

These were the last orders from Wes we have received.  Anything is possible, I guess.  But.....If Wes is on the phone with anyone.....let's "hope" he's on the phone talking some sense into the Super-D's.

Prosecutors said one of the students accused of dealing cocaine was one month away from being awarded a master's degree in homeland security and worked as a community service officer for the campus police department.

Another student, a criminal justice major, was arrested on suspicion of possessing 500 grams (18 ounces) of cocaine and two guns.

A total of 96 people, 75 of them students, were arrested on various drug-related charges during the "Operation Sudden Fall" investigation at the 30,000-student campus, which began after the death of a student one year ago.

May 06, 2008

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Nearly 100 people, most of them students, were arrested during a lengthy undercover investigation targeting drug trafficking at San Diego State University in California, authorities said on Tuesday.

EXCERPT

America's Pay-or-Die Health Care System

This is a tale of pay or die that recurs again and again all over our country and only in our country in the entire western world.

I wonder how many of these tales it will take for America to come to its senses. My guess is that we're getting to the point of 'bad health care' burn out. Of course, it's an argument for Single Payer. Of course, none of the major candidates are running on a pro-Single Payer platform.

Advised by her physician to go to M.D. Anderson for urgent treatment of her leukemia, Mrs. Lisa Kelly was told she had to pay $105,000 up front before being admitted. The hospital declared her limited insurance unacceptable.

Keep this in mind as you navigate our current health care system. Your insurance may be deemed 'limited' and keep you out of the hospital. You would think we deserve better.

Time out from her torment for a moment. M.D. Anderson started this upfront payment demand in 2005 because of a spike in its bad debt load.

I wonder if the same would happen under Single-Payer. If the chance to keep people from receiving needed health care is possible, it'll happen. It's likely that some for-profit hospitals won't go for Single-Payer even if it's avaialble. Single-Payer will almost certainly have an opt-out provision to placate the insurance industry.

It isn’t as if non-profit hospitals like M.D. Anderson are hurting. Look at this finding in an Ohio State University study: net income per bed at non-profit hospitals tripled to $146,273 in 2005 from $50,669 in 2000. And you also may have noticed the huge pay packages awarded hospital executives.

Market forces at work, even for non-profits. Why should we be surprised?

Back to the 52 year old, Lisa Kelly. She and her husband returned with a check for $45,000. After a blood test and biopsy, the hospital oncologist urged admittance quickly. Then the hospital demanded an additional $60,000-$45,000 just for the lab tests and $15,000 for part of the cost of the treatment.

This for a person who had some insurance. Think your way through this.

Imagine anything like Mrs. Kelly’s predicament and pressures occurring in Canada, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Holland, England or any other western country. It would never happen.

Bingo! Only in the good ol' USA. But we have the best health care in the world, don't we?

I have the distinct privilege and honor to attend an event this afternoon with Hillary, Chelsea and Dorothy Rodham, along with 1000 other women for Hillary. Wish I thought there was a chance for a handshake and greeting but I have no idea.

Just in case, I'd like to take a photo with me to have signed. Can anyone recall where the photo of Wes and Hillary in the diner is located so that I might print it out? Or is there a better one of the two of them? I'd be most appreciative if someone can pass it along before I have to leave at 1130.

I'll report back later! Seems that she is stopping by WVA this morning on an unscheduled stop but guess she'll be coming on to DC later.

Today, in every way that I know how, I am expressing my personal determination to keep forging forward in this campaign.

After our come-from-behind victory in Indiana, there are just 28 days of voting left. But we've never campaigned with the stakes as high or the time as short as they will be over the next four weeks.

And with you by my side, I'm going to keep fighting for what I believe in until every voter has had his or her say.

From the very beginning, you and I have counted on one another, working through every challenge and seizing every opportunity. That's not just the way our campaign works. That's the way America works.

As we enter the final four weeks of this contest, let's keep working our hearts out.

In six days, we have the chance to show our strength in West Virginia. If you'll stand with me, it's an opportunity I intend to make the most of.

There's no question about it - we've got to make every one of these next 28 days count - starting with today.

As we've told each other time and time again. There will be good days and not so good days in the course of this campaign. But there will never be a day that we can't count on one another.

As we enter the final 28 days of voting, I know you'll give it everything you've got. And you know I will do the same.

Thanks for being such a wonderful friend and ally.

Russert enfuriated me  to the limit last night. When he was on Nightly News tonight, I quickly switched channels. Other commentators could say the same thing, and  most of the time,  it wouldn't irritate me as much as when "Russy" starts on Hillary. But  she  shows such strength against all the odds.
