Hello Everyone:
When I was monitoring (not "watching") Countdown last night, I heard Keith Olbermann play this ridiculous quote from Obama where he told people at a campaign event "Don‘t buy into this electability argument:"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24484279/
'Countdown with Keith Olbermann' for Monday, May 5
Read the transcript to the Monday show
Guests: Chuck Todd, Dana Milbank, Mike Taibbi, Kal Penn
KEITH OLBERMANN, HOST: "Senator Obama is spending his morning in Indiana, likewise, asking for word of mouth support from assembled union workers before traveling to North Carolina to dispel any notion amongst undecided voters that he would not be able to beat Senator McCain.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. BARACK OBAMA, (D) PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Don‘t buy into this electability argument. You know, go with who you think best represents your vision of where America needs to go. And if you do that, I‘m absolutely confident that that person will win. I think this is our opportunity to make a clean break from the past.
(END VIDEO CLIP)..."
This was a gaffe and a totally naive and irresponsible comment on the part of Obama in my opinion!
I am not surprised at all that Obama's biased apologist in the media Keith Olbermann would report something like this when truly objective journalists in the media are credibly reporting that the Republicans and John McCain would rather run against Obama instead of Hillary:

John King of CNN objectively explained why the GOP wants to run against Obama!

Mark Halperin, who I definitely think is a credible reporter, also made this important point on CNN last night:

MARK HALPERIN, CNN SENIOR POLITICAL ANALYST: "I think the McCain campaign wants to run against Obama. They have less respect for him as a potential president. They have less respect for his ability to withstand the kind of scrutiny he'd get. They pretty much agree with Hillary Clinton on that. They may not be right; I'm not saying they are. But I'm pretty confident that they'd prefer to take on Obama..."
Obama's comment "Don‘t buy into this electability argument. You know, go with who you think best represents your vision of where America needs to go. And if you do that, I‘m absolutely confident that that person will win" is highly naive and irresponsible in my opinion because in order for any Democrat to win, they have to first get through the very powerful Republican attack machine!
All of the evidence I have seen so far shows that Barack Obama has absolutely NO concept or understanding of this very important concept and he also does not understand that whether he likes it or not, this is a fight which he just cannot avoid IF he is the nominee:

Mitt Romney is right that Obama "can't be calling foul or unfair" IF nominated!

The superdelegates in my opinion are risking political suicide if they give the nomination to such a weak and unelectable candidate like Obama who is dismissing the whole concept of electability and who seems to think that winning the nomination automatically equals winning the general election!
Change is only change IF a candidate can get elected so Obama will NOT be able to change anything if he cannot get elected just like how John Kerry could not change anything after he lost to Bush in 2004!

Listen to Gen. Wes Clark fight for Dems on Sean Hannity's radio program: An excellent example for all of us to follow and what we all need to be doing to help fight back against extreme right wing Neocon smear propaganda!
BO is saying, in essence, "Don't worry about any of this electibilty stuff! Just wish that I'll win, and I will!" And, as far as Reagan Dems defecting to McCain--I have to disagree slightly with Lanny Davis, which I don't often do--but these folks are ALREADY largely in that camp! They voted for W, and the Dems have to get them back! And it sure looks like the racial divide is hardening even more. I said earlier that I thought Donna Brazile planned on voting for Hillary since she said she'd vote (as a super) with her head, but her heart would be elsewhere. Well, tonight, on CNN, her vehement words led Campbell Brown to tell her it sounds like she has her mind made up--and Brown was definitely implying Obama, since DB had angrily insisted that a "new coalition" could be built of blacks and youth. When Paul Begala called her on this, she backed off (like she often does) and maintained that she meant the blue-collar folks too. Right, Donna. You really helped out BO when you said he should start chewing tobacco when he campaigns in WV (as opposed to drinking beer in NC).

DON LEMON, CO-HOST: "But I want to give Cynthia the last word.
You said that Reverend Wright really did wear into his momentum and caused the slip in the polling?
CYNTHIA TUCKER, ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION: Absolutely. Absolutely. It is absolutely clear, even though voters when asked directly say, no, we're not going to base our votes on Reverend Wright, but it's absolutely clear that it hurt Obama. Not only in terms of his perception -- his perception that he could pull the country together, but also because it put him on the defensive. It put him off stride. And one of the reasons this helps Senator Clinton is that Obama hasn't done well typically when he's on the defensive..."

Here is a very big reason why the superdelegates had better "buy into this electability argument" because there is absolutely NO WAY that this will sell to middle America when the GOP attack machine brings this issue up in the general election IF Obama is the nominee:

CNN LARRY KING LIVE
Tuesday Democratic Primaries: Game On or Game Over?
Aired May 5, 2008 - 21:00 ET
LARRY KING, HOST: "Therefore, Lanny, is McCain almost the perfect candidate for the Republicans? A kind of maverick, a war hero beyond imagination, someone liked by everybody?
LANNY DAVIS, FORMER SPECIAL COUNSEL, PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON, SUPPORTS CLINTON: Well, I think Senator McCain is a formidable candidate. I think the strength he shows in the Gallup polls -- he's defeating Senator Obama in Ohio. He's defeating Senator Obama in Pennsylvania. And he's defeating Senator Obama in Florida. On the other hand, Senator Clinton is defeating Senator McCain in those states.
KING: That wasn't the question.
DAVIS: My regard for -- your question was, which I answered, I think he is a formidable. I have a great deal of admiration for him. Depending on who he's running against, he's going to be weaker or stronger. Right now, every single state poll in the battleground states, every poll shows Senator Clinton stronger against Senator McCain than Senator Obama. I believe Democrats will unite. I believe with Katrina that we have the issues on our side. But we are seeing a serious defection rate of what were Reagan Democrats -- the children of Reagan Democrats seem to be defecting to McCain when the name is Obama, and they seem to be staying, by at least two to one margins, with Hillary Clinton when the name is Clinton..."
