lately, I just wonder where he's been. Does anyone believe O would ask him to be VP? Right now O has two ways of getting my vote. 1. Wes as VP; 2. Hil as VP. Otherwise, my ballot will be a write in this year.

...should Hillary accept VP.....and hopefully Wes won't either. Besides the fact that both Hillary and Wes are waaaay more qualified to be Prez than the empty suit, either would be tarnished by his baggage.
The only way I'd vote for Obama is if he was Hillary's VP....and I would be praying all the while that Wright/Rezko?Ayres....and gawd knows what else he has hidden..... didn't drag her down.
"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK
I agree with you, I would only vote for him if he were her VP. I don't want Hillary or the General as his VP either. They are better than that. I just pray she will somehow make it.
that's why I don't expect to cast a vote for O. I know that Hillary and Wes have waaay more going for them and if asked they would probably say no thanks.
But, IF they were on the ballot then I would vote for him -- otherwise not!!!
I wish I could type a big "O" with "bama" in small letters within the O and have that diagonal slash going through the O.
OBAMA IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT! Not yet. Still, I will not vote for him in the future since the Obama campaign used the Racecard to get to where they're at. He used the Racecard on 2 people who have worked so hard their adult lives to help minorities. It's disgusting.
I have thought long and hard about what I would do if Obama is the Democratic nominee. I have decided that I will do what ever Wes asks of me. Nothing more nor nothing less. I don't understand those Clarkies who support Obama over Hillary so to be consistent I must follow Wes' lead on this too.

But for my own self preservation, there is no way, not even if Wes asks me to, to make myself ever vote for O again. Did once, and all I got was a hopeychangey POTUS campaign that's as full of dirty tricks as I've ever seen.
Since I live in IL, I don't have to vote for POTUS at all. The state is solid blue - they could put a serial killer on the ticket here, and as long as the Daley/Blago machine was cranked up for 'em, they'd be elected.
So, I have an easy out. I don't agree with Wes on every single thing. And I don't have to do something so antithetical to my very core and in my belief, so wrong as to cast a vote for this guy, just to make sure someone with a "D" after their name sits in the Oval Office.
I will be happy to vote for real down ticket Dems...but frankly, here in Chicago, I trust Absolutely No One who runs for office. None of the above. I would actually have to move away from Illinois altogether to even again begin to believe that I'm voting for someone who truly wants to serve the people, rather than just another ego driven pretender to any throne. I'm honestly that fed up folks.
I trust Wes' judgement, but it's his own judgement. I took him at his word regarding his support of Hillary, and opened my mind to look into her background. The more I saw, the more I liked. With O it's just the opposite. Each and every time I see or hear him, I like him and trust him less.
In fact, there's only a couple of people in the political arena that I will ever dare to support wholeheartedly ever again. One is General Clark. The other is Eric Massa. Hillary I support, because I admire her work ethic, her courage, her intelligence and grace under pressure. But frankly, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Wes. (Oh, and if Mrs. Clark ever wants to run for anything, I'll be there with bells on.)
I'm so absolutely disgusted by what has become rampantly apparent in this primary, it's going to take me a long time to take anyone running for office at their word ever again.

it's going to take me a long time to take anyone running for office at their word ever again.
I regret every penny I sent to McCaskill...that's for sure.
"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK

having put time, shoe leather and cash into O's senate run and GOTV efforts. I'm embarrassed by my own lack of judgment. When I met him I kinda had this instinct that all wasn't cool here, but maybe he was just distracted, or having a bad day.
So, I put on my good Dem smiley face, and registered people to vote, and asked them to vote for Kerry and O. Sigh.
I think the person I trust the least is myself. I bought the O senate campaign hook, line and sinker. I feel like such a sucker.
I just wanted to be an informed voter, I just wanted to be part of the process. I really believed.
I just don't like being made a fool. I don't think anyone does. I was foolish not to see this guy for what he was back in 04. I was one of them, I wished for a "Good Guy."
I just got more of the same. And the beat goes on. Can't trust these people. Just can't.
God, I'm so depressed...

....your pain"
To quote a great American.
"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK
My wife is with you and will be angry with me if I do vote for the sleeeze bag Obama. However, I will do what Wes says. I find his judgement and experience better than mine. I am getting angry all over again at Clarkies who said no to Wes; I can not. By the way I have no reason to assume that he will tell ask us to that.

Even if Wes or Hillary both came to this site and asked me to support O. Why? I have my principals. And if that means a McCain Presidency so be it. I will either leave the Presidential space blank or vote for an Independent if there is one. And I am a life long Dem.
But I will continue to support down ticket Dems. That way if/when McCain becomes our President we will have the majority to tie his hands should he start acting like Bush.

...live blogging the Clinton conference call this morning.
So far...
Geoff Garin: Indiana was a close outcome, but they feel very, very good. First time Clinton has come from behind to achieve a primary victory. Amidst a huge amount of spending from Obama, Clinton won. The Chicago media market was over 20% of the state and gave Obama a substantial head start. Eight points down with 10 days to go, then winning by 2 points, represents "significant progress" and is a "good victory under challenging circumstances." Obama called it a "tie breaker state," so we feel good about the victory.
We congratulate Obama on his North Carolina. But that state also represents progress for us. We were running even with white voters two weeks ago, but earned a significant win, 24 points. We didn't do well enough with AA voters. Clinton continues to run very strongly among likely swing voters in the Nov. election, blue collar voters, seniors and Catholics. Last night makes the strong case that she's the better candidate in November.
The win in Indiana allows us to go on and make the case in West Virginia.
Howard Wolfson: We need to do well in upcoming contests. W.V. is a "critically important key swing state in November." We are going to set out in the next days to show real strength in W.V.
We need to work with others to make sure Florida and Michigan are seated. We believe these delegates should be seated. We need to continue to make the case the Clinton is a better nominee against John McCain. Clinton today runs ahead of Obama in Penn. and Florida. Clinton has proved she can win blue collar voters, and suggests she can absolutely be the strongest nominee against John McCain. Obama has not proven he can win the key swing states, or the votes of blue collar workers. That's the crux of the argument being made to superdelegates and voters going forward. West Virginia is a critical test and we need to do well there and going forward.
Questions begin...
REPORTER: Russert said race is over, do you think it's fair, and will it move superdelegates?
HOWARD WOLFSON: Pundits have counted Clinton out many times. They're doing it today. But the punditocracy doesn't make the decision, voters do. They're more important than pundits, as important as pundits are. Superdelegates are more impacted by our arguments and who will be the stronger candidate in November.
REPORTER: What about a ticket of Clinton-Obama, in whatever order? Have you talked to Obama about it.
HOWARD WOLFSON: No we haven't. Clinton thinks it's premature. Haven't heard her talk about it. She's focused on the remaining contests.
ANDREA MITCHELL: Money situation; reasons for the loan; what money came in last night? Superdelegate meeting? Did gas tax help/hurt her?
HOWARD WOLFSON: Clnton gave campaign $5 and 1 million, $400,000 loans, and is her commitment to the race. Don't know the Internet campaign total. Campaign continues to raise money. Clinton knows it's important to stay competitive and will again do what she has to, including loan more money.
GARIN: Gas tax helped Clinton. ... Came from 8 points behind, talked about gas prices, etc. Helped. We think it made a difference in both states at the end of the day.
HOWARD WOLFSON: Meetings will be later with superdelegates on the Hill. Make the case that Clinton would be the better nominee. Both camps will continue to reach out. They're with uncommitted superdelegates. ... ..
REPORTER: Question on MI and FL.
PHIL SINGER: If MI and FL are seated, Clinton would get 58 delegates. ... ..

"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK

If Rezko is convicted, can't O just get him to keep his mouth shut with the promise of a presidential pardon? Hard to imagine the prosecutor could offer him anything better.

Remember BO was in Chicago, taking a rest..just before PA. He was in meetings with the MOB probably. He knows whats coming down.

But I doubt he needs to physically go to Chicago to get it done, so there's no indicator there. In fact, he might want to be even more careful than ever not to be seen in the company of these people.
I dunno. Maybe something will come out of Rezko or one of his buddies. Maybe not. If so, I hope it does by convention time. Thank goodness Hillary has enough pledged delegates that the Dupers could give it to her if something ugly were to break.
I'm not holding my breath at this point.

as I made coffee, listening to NPR. First one was I wonder if there's some crazy chance the Repubs and their lapdog press will stay quiet on O!'s Rezko, and "Chicago" political ties hoping that #1 he wins the Dem nomination, and #2 that he beats McCain in the GE. Then they have the chance to impeach the 2nd Democratic president in the last few decades, proving (in their view) that Democrats are not to be trusted with the presidency, ever.
The other thing is, I wonder if anyone in our piece o' chit press will point out that O!'s win last night in NC, and closing the gap in IN was due to the AA vote in both cases, and how weak he is with the rest of the Dem base? i.e. the majority of the Dem base that he will need to win the GE? I think we can safely say the answer is a resounding NO.
In NC, White Democrats made up 42% of voters and Clinton won 62%. White Independents made up 16% and she won 58%. Black Democrats made up 32% and O! won 92%.
In IN, White Democrats made up 49% of voters and Clinton won 65%, White Indys were 20% and Clinton won 52%. Black Democrats were 15% and O! won 90%.

I just sent a reply to an e-mail from Hillary's campaign. I made it clear how I felt - that she is BY FAR the most qualified to be President among the 3 that are still in the RAce.
We need someone who will keep fighting for the American PEople. It is about THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. She can do the most good for the American People as President - not VP or Senator. We need her as President NOW!
The same people in the media who are saying that she should respectfully get out of the race now will be the same people in the future to always say that she wasn't strong enough to fight for the PResidency when it was in full reach. She would also be challenged for not fighting for the voters of Florida and Michigan to have their votes counted. It was clear that Obama's name was on the ballot in MI, but he took it off. He doesn't deserve the Presidency - period.
The American People need Hillary now. I wrote that I believed only she and Wes could handle the problems of today. This Presidency will impact our lives for generations.
Everyday more Americans admire Hillary's strength and knowledge. She's determined and focused. Her support keeps building up and building up. She has a much better chance to win the Presidency in the General Election than Obama does.
Please e-mail Hillary to keep fighting for us. That the PResidency is the best place for her to get the most done for the American People.
Her fight is Heroic! I'm fighting with You, Hillary!
His media lackeys pretend that his ethnicity somehow excuses everything. Not a peep of protest has been sounded at the laundry list of ultra-liberal pols that have endorsed him--some of them former candidates or nominees that were rejected because THEY were too far left for mainstream America. If, for instance, Kerry had endorsed Hillary, the media would have hooted that he would be an albatross around her neck! And now George McGovern. How many blue-collar voters do they figure that'll bring in? This is the most egregious instance in modern American politics of ivory-tower intellectuals ignoring the common people. My husband said some press member this morning opined that an Obama/Clinton ticket would be a winner in the South. Could he possibly be serious or just trying to garner votes for the Golden One? When the Radical Republicans tried working it with a coalition of blacks and carbetbaggers after the Civil War, they got the Klan for opposition. And where was the Klan in IN? (There are also some Kluxers in WV where I was raised, so I don't mean to single out IN!) Well, they're probably Repubs. They'll be out for the GE, with sheets--er bells--on. And many decent, tolerant mainstream voters who don't reject a candidate because of ethnicity (or gender)will reject BO because he looks too elitist, far-left, and racist-sympathetic, just for starters.

If they want him propped up, propped up he will be. Perception is everything, right? How much free positive advertising & airtime do you think he already got- half a billion dollars worth?
The question is- what on Earth would you be getting if he actually makes it? I'd vastly prefer someone who underpromises & overdelivers.
The (real rightwing) nasties are likely to hit the race card so hard it blows up in their face, as well it should- but it may innoculate him. It surely prevented any reasonable discussion of his "qualifications" & relative merit- brilliantly played so far.
The gatekeepers want him, and that's that. Between the court of public opinion, an adoring press, a soft sell superslick marketing campaign & relentless repetition, plus those people who truly to believe in his "message" - and - somehow in his hitherto unproven ability to deliver on it- Hope? Change? What even are they to deliver on? Nobody knows. Not a policy in sight. Look how they fawned over Bush for how many years.
They do this all the time- that is why it is called Manufacturing Consent.
by the powers that be, I wouldn't bother to give my time, money, and psychic energy to Hillary. The only purpose this blogsite would serve is as a catharsis.
The Democratic elites may install BO as nominee, but he still has to get the votes of the people to be President. And I don't think the Repubs will pull any strings to put a left-winger in office.
And when has race-baiting blown up in the face of the Repubs? It's one of the oldest, most reliable political dirty tricks.
Obama has gotten so much free airtime for months! He's charged for his ad time, but isn't charged for all the pro-biased reporting his way and all the negative bias reporting towards Hillary.
The amount of money what be unbelieveable if he had to pay for all the backing he got from CM, KO, and so many others. When it's not the anchor of the show, it's some political analysis that is very pro-Obama and very anti-Hillary that gets to have his or her say.
Very unAmerican.

Even on NPR they are so tilted towards O! that it's practically a done deal. Donna Brazile is one of the panelists, Ken Gruden, and a couple Republicans. There was a discussion on Clintons playing the race card after NH and that is what really hurt her with the AA community. They didn't expect it from the Clintons and it threw them into Barack Obama's arms. Can you friggin' believe it? No one disputed or questioned the declaration. It was just taken for truth that it was the Clintons. No one bothered to question why the Clintons would have done this, knowing it would alienate the AA community and benefit Obama.
The panelists agreed the thing now is building the Dem party for the future. If we alienate AAs and youth, the party will be left with only old people. How does that benefit the future of the party? Seriously, this is one of the arguments they're making for the Super Ds to base their vote on. One guy was saying in the past we couldn't count on the youth because they don't vote as reliably as old people, but O! has so inspired them, this time they WILL vote, and in huge numbers (i.e. we don't need those old people). Did anyone point out that yes, they came out for O!, but they tended NOT to vote down ticket races, only for O! No. Would anyone expect Ms Brazile to point that out?
I'm sicked by this entire thing. I am getting closer and closer to the point of wanting O to be the nominee, go up against McCain, and watch with a small amount of glee as he flames out. Not there yet, because our Hillary's a fighter, and she's not going to be bullied around by the power mongers, the media and the talking head pundits. Have to admit though, there is definitely a desperation out there for O! to be the nominee. With the media firmly in that camp, it should be so obvious to any left thinking person that there's something fishy. Should be. But they're going along merrily. Ugh.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
and these pundit of course know it! They don't care what kind of magic they have to come up with to get him nominated! If the party loses the Reagan Democrats, we lose the GE! That's why W is Prez! Young people, blacks, and eggheads may get BO primary votes, but this coalition couldn't carry the GE in a basket! And, as for black people turning against the Clintons because of perceived racism: I know I've already said this, but I will again. Many, many such voters were Clinton supporters until a black candidate came along and proved he might win the nomination. They wanted to vote for this person, but many surely must have felt guilty about turning away from a Clinton. I believe the vast majority would have voted for BO anyway, but the purported racism made them feel better about it. I know black people who did this very thing! And, guess what--all have assured me they would vote for Hillary should she be the nominee!
...then the media will be part of what takes him down. It's all about the drama that creates ratings, dontchaknow. Fake concern about human failings...how the mighty have fallen...etc. ad naseum.
Saw this in a comment somewhere today:
The "audacity of hope" is a blank slate on which people project whatever they need to see in him.
My son has always said that most people are stupid, and I've always disagreed. Well, he wins.
Drama/conflict will bring in viewers. I do think however, there is a strong reason why MSNBC went for Obama the past 4 months - he brings in the 18 yr olds - 30 yr olds. This is a new generation of viewers.
MSNBC became the Obama Bandwagon. I believe MSNBC feels now they'll have the loyal viewership of 18 yr olds - 30 (and thinking the 18 yr olds will bring a decent among of 14 -16 to MSNBC). It is my opinion that MSNBC wants the young adults to put them over the top of FOX. So much of it is about the $$$.

dishonest, and lying have become the norm (SOP) for politicians these days, thanks in no small part to the Bush mafia running the joint. These repubs remain unpunished for their misdeeds and continue to thumb their collective noses at any attempt to bring them to any sort of justice. The weak-kneed dems continue to allow this to happen and with the spurious antics of Obama's campaign thugs show they have adapted quite well, thank you, to the new standards of ethics - i.e. none.
In other words, the tactics of dishonesty are spreading; we find Obama lying about his past, his policies, Hillary's policies, and all the while merrily stuffing the ballot box.God knows what else goes on nearly every day and no one NO ONE in the media calls him on it. Will this affect the rest of the country? Quite likely, as if he can do it, so can we. What a future to look forward to, not believing a word anyone says any more, for once a liar, always a liar.
What's worse, is that most people just simply overlook this as part of normal life. How sad. I'm unsure what kind of world we're leaving to our grandchildren, but right now it doesn't look too good.
You can't go back and change it.
And, oh, while thinking about this, I ran across someone else who has given this much more thought.

"The horrifying result of this is a political climate in which many Americans believe that those who can throw the biggest tantrum deserve to get their way. (Which is not democracy, or anything like it. It's rule by bullies.) If you want to know why American politics sounds like a sandbox fight in the kindergarten playground, there's one good answer. Look at it this way, and it becomes clear that the Obama/Hillary partisan pissing matches of the past many weeks are, once again, playing right into conservative hands. Never mind the fact that when those two fight, McCain wins. Look beyond that to the more distressing fact, which is that too many Democrats have finally become every bit as ugly as the GOP has always been. They've gotten to us. We've finally become what we most despise."
We're electing the President of the United States, not some g.d. prom king.
In the recent past we had Republicans call the moves made by Democrats as Facist-like, when in actually it has been the Bush/Cheney Administration; the Republican majority in the Senate (when it was the majority); and Conservative Majority in the Supreme Court (especially during the 2000 Election) that has been Facist Like.
In this campaign cycle you have the Obama team claiming that Hillary and Bill were using the "Racecard," when in acutality it was Obama and team that used the Racecard. Obama and his campaign staff were ready to use Rove and Dick Morris' type tactics to try to win the election. This is the dirtiest move I can remember in politics. Hillary and Bill have worked so hard their adult lives to better the lives of minorities.

the more confused I become about most of it. I can't get a clear picture in my mind of where Hillary would be if (Please God) MI and FL are counted. I just saw something that said she would only pick up 58 delegates? Too much for my old brain to figure out. One thing I keep thinking though, the Super Delegates could end it all right now and they aren't doing it, so I am praying Hillary still has a chance. She wasn't tops in my book when she declared, but she has made a believer out of me. I will admire her courage and amazing fortitude through this absurd process forever. What an amazing person!

Interesting stuff. Pennsylvania will be gone gone gone, looks like.

Remember BO going to rest in Chicago, to take his kids to school ;(. Was there a couple days. Just before the PA primary, he took a rest in Chicago. That didn't work out to well. Probably visited his ol buddies in the Legislature on these trips.
Then I read in the Suntimes, that yesterday, the whole IL legislation went out of session Gary IN is only 30 min from Chicago..hummmmmm I say. Talk about strong arming the Mayor...ya think. I hope Hillary had her attorneys there. We won't hear anything YET, but I have a feeling, knowing the Chi MOB, the business was set up with the votes!! I have a feeling that Hillary knows what went on, and she is not going to quit but keep fighting.

Just old Chicago politics, bigger and badder than ever, once again influencing a national election.
Richy Daley Jr learned well at the feet of his father, the blustering old Rich Daley Sr.
"We're not here to create disorder, we're here to preserve disorder!" - Mayor Daley, commenting on police actions during rioting throughout Grant Park during the 1968 convention. Freudian slip, anyone?
You can bet, Dee, that there were plenty of Chitown movers and shakers and corruptible wanna-be's promising plenty to the Mayor in Gary, IN. That's a town that's needy and desperate and has been for years. That they will be getting shafted by this bunch is their lesson yet to learn. It isn't going to be pretty in the political trenches of Southern Chicago and Northwestern Indiana.

Second time....Hillary will not quit!

When you are on a mission and that mission has failed, what do you do? Do you commit suicide by keeping your platoon there or do you immediately order a 'pull back'?
General, what happens if a soldier disobeys an order or a rule? Do you recommend an award for the soldier because you 'support' what that soldier was trying to do, or do you reprimand the soldier because he broke the rules?
General, what's more important? One soldier or the platoon?
Knowing you normally support the 'troops' (or 'platoon' in this case), I find it hard to believe that you'd suddenly change your beliefs for one soldier.

Wes Clark Democrats...let the Clinton campaign know who sent you

In 2004 all they could talk about was how boring the conventions were. The networks didn't cover all of the speeches and they were talking about not covering them at all because nothing happened.
Now all they can talk about is how the nomination can't be decided on the convention floor, how the Party will suffer if that happens, how it has to be decided before then.
Which is it?

From Krissah Williams, Washington D.C.: “I am writing a story Democratic primary voters that feel like that cannot support one of the Democratic candidates in November. Virginia DNC member Jennifer McClellan has now switched from supporting Hillary over to Obama, further diminishing her slim advantage in the super-del count. THAT'S 5 just today.
HuffingtonPost:
More rough news for Sen. Hillary Clinton. The Hill reports that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), one of Clinton's "most prominent Senate supporters, said Wednesday that she has asked the former first lady to detail her plans for the rest of the Democratic primary."
"I think the race is reaching the point now where there are negative dividends from it, in terms of strife within the party," Feinstein said. "I think we need to prevent that as much as we can."
HuffingtonPost.com - Lawrence O'Donnelle
A senior campaign official and Clinton confidante has told me that there will be a Democratic nominee by June 15. He could not bring himself to say the words "Hillary will drop out by June 15," but that is clearly what he meant. I kept saying, "So, Hillary will drop out by June 15," and he kept saying, "We will have a nominee by June 15." He stressed what a reasonable person Hillary is.

Gee, and here I thought it was built to support his ideas of worthy Dem candidates. I had no idea the Democratic Party had him built it for them. Shows you how woefully underinformed I, and so many of us here, are.
Please don't make blanket statements like that Coonbug. You're just asking for sarcasm in return.
There's nothing wrong with you supporting Obama - you have every right to support whoever you think is best. Many of those on this blog, including General Clark, also support who they think is best. Leave it at that. Please don't presume everyone here will happily, or even reluctantly, support Obama if he becomes the nominee, just because they're democrats and expected to toe the line regardless of what they personally believe about that nominee. Many of us have serious issues with Obama - those issues don't go away, or diminish, if he becomes the nominee.
The Democratic Party, thanks to Dean and Brazile, largely, has done great harm to itself. Maybe this is a little easier for me since I'm not a Democrat, but, for all the time I've spent around Dems these last several years, two basic types seem to have emerged to me:
- those who put the values and ideals associated with being a Democrat and democratic above their party
- those who put their party first
I suspect Clark supporters are more likely to be the former than the later.
I have no idea what General Clark will do if Obama becomes the nominee - it's his personal decision to make (the operative words being 'his' & 'personal'), but I wouldn't make the mistake of assuming he'll automatically be in lock-step with anyone else. Obama isn't running against Bush.
Nor would it be wise to assume that because so many of us agree with his support of Hillary, that we would automatically agree if he ended up supporting what may end up as an Obama candidacy. We can support him even if we disagree with him.

In the Left blogs today, it is considered a mortal sin to point out that Barack Obama has trouble connecting with white working class voters. It is a mortal sin to point out that in the South Carolina campaign, the Obama campaign fed the narrative that the Clinton campaign was race baiting. Indeed, the Left blogs themselves led the charge with this smear, notwithstanding the fact that it was utterly illogical. In South Carolina, the last thing the Clinton campaign would have wanted was African American voters rallying to Barack Obama.
In February, Obama was able to nimbly straddle appealing to African American voters while maintaining a broader appeal. Wisconsin and Virginia appeared to be watersheds, where Obama won both the white and African American voters (he has consistently lost Latino voters.) But from Ohio on, it became clear that Obama would not be able to sustain that. Jeremiah Wright was the biggest reason why. More . . .

faces around here? Yesterday's elections turned out pretty much as expected. Nothing's changed; Obama is still a crook.
We're electing the President of the United States, not some g.d. prom king.
She said that everyone should be given a chance to vote and that the candidates should be allowed to stay in the race as long as he/she wants. Then, something about how we will have a candidate by the middle of June after everyone has a chance to speak.
I don't have any trust in her - at least she didn't publicly humiliate Hillary like McGovern did today.

...are playing the faux unity thing today.
I think the numbers for HRC supporters who wouldn't vote for The Precious, coming out of NC scare them

And cruising the "Clinton exile" blogs last night the message was loud and clear. A huge majority says no way will they vote for O! and some are not just gonna vote for McCain...but work for him to help him beat O!. Those out there who are yapping about "unity" can yap all they want. These people aren't going to listen to them any more than people listened to Wes for the past 4+ years....or when he endorsed Hillary. They are not going to scare people into voting for O! with McCain. They won't listen. People already think they know McCain and they like him for the most part. O! won't have the "hate" card to play against him. And the race card has already served it's purpose....and done it's damage for the duration.
Well...too bad...that's the way it goes.

As dad said last night, Hillary's a tough old bird, she won't quit. LOL! I wouldn't have quite worded it that way! but he's right. She won't, and neither will we!
Oh, he was just reading aloud an article from his Yahoo front page news feed which said "Republicans Want To Run Against Obama. But Why?" He adds, WE KNOW WHY! Gotta love dad! ;)

...if Clinton pulled out of WV and KY and then he lost to her anyway, since her name would still be on the ballot."
Just uttered by pundit guest on NPR.
since she complained at the debate about getting asked all the questions first and SNL came running to protect her.
Some of you here will eat your words when the General comes out supporting Obama soon, and because you love and trust him - you will too, just as you did when he came out supporting Hillary and Kerry/Edwards.
Come on people -- the man won fair and square, she can't make it up now. If Obama played the race card, she did the same with the gender card. Hillary got the women and more whites, Barack got the blacks and those under 60. Tit-for-tat.
It's over -- McCain is the enemy now!

You can take a flying leap off a high bridge. We don't want Obama under any circumstances. He's not qualified, period!!! My ballot will have a write in name or it's Ralph Nader. Obama is the media golden boy for now, but once he's got the nomination, the real favorite of the mass media (John McCain) will get the nod. How can you say he won fair and square when he blocked a recount in Florida and Michigan??? He hasn't won yet anyway.

Taylor Marsh and Digby weigh in on Russert's declaration that it's over -- O! has won the nomination.

Countering the absurd and illogical ranks right up there with my desire to straighten any crooked picture I see--anywhere. I try to sit on my hands, but I've been known to do that when no one was looking and almost had one fall off the wall when I tried--in a public place! (However I have the good sense not to try it in an art museum!)
at Riverdaughter's site—a long but very interesting article on BO's money cartel in Black Agenda Report. Take a look.
...about Brazille's remarks. Oh, the spin going on there! Summary:
The young man said they had been getting a lot of calls. "Yes, she could have spoken more carefully."
Me: "I'm tired of 'careful' wording. She obviously spoke her truth feelings and told me that I'm not welcome in the party. Damage done by an Obama supporter. Does not bode well for victory in November."

She said that there is now a new Democratic Party.....one that does not rely on working class and Hispanics (and of course, women and Asians)
This new Democratic Party is made up of AAs and Latte Drinkers. She thinks they can win with this
No backtracking will repair this rift.
Since I fit into the demographic that the Party no longer needs, I will.....if Hillary drops out....be changing my affiliation.
Methinks, Mr Unity has divided the Party beyond repair

the madder I get.
Sounds like it's time for me to make a "Don't blame me, I voted for Hillary" shirt and bumpersticker.

Brazille's remarks:
This ol white wumman, this ol, poor, white wumman ain't gonna furgit this slur anytime soon. NOoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

O! and his supporters have offended me so many times, I've lost count.
Older "bitter", "clingy" rural white woman from a working class family who could whoop his a** at the bowling alley. Oh...and I hate lattes!!
Ahhh....screw em.

if O gets the nomination, is a mass resignation from the Dem party - especially if the FL and MI voters are shut out. My name will be at the top of the list. I will not be associated with his particular brand of "Chicago" politics.
We're electing the President of the United States, not some g.d. prom king.

Various people keep mentioning this. What they don't seem to be mentioning is that he's spending that in states he lost as well as in those he won. So, ok - maybe she didn't win Indiana by double digits, but he still lost outspending her 4 to 1. So eaxtly how many percentage points does that represent? Dunno, but I think it's a fair assumption that, had he spent the same amount she did, he margin of victory might have benn higher.

All this debate over whether or not Hillary should drop out, or if Obama has survived his various mini-dramas. These are important issues to be sure...so important that apparently there is no other news happening any where else on the face of the planet !
Oh yeah - and in case anyone in the news media is watching, Myanmar's death toll is now up to about 100,000!
yeech!
