Hillary’s Drive – She’s got 'em right where she wants 'em.

Who remembers the story of “The Drive”? Time was running out; the Broncos needed a touchdown; and they were huddling behind their own 2 yard line. But quarterback John Elway was a fighter; and he knew his team could do it; so he began that huddle with that now famous comment; and the Denver Broncos went on to get that touchdown and win the game.

Well folks, we’re behind a little in the last quarter of this record-breaking series; but our Hillary’s got drive too; and her team is going to be out there playing smart until we win all the states we need in order to win the nomination.

We just got a hard fought tie-breaking win in Indiana.

And now things are going great in West Virginia.

Likewise in Kentucky.

Oregon is looking better than ever.

Hillary’s folks are excited in South Dakota.

Montana’s big skies are beckoning.

And sunny Puerto Rico can’t wait to have its say.

So, what do you say, Hillary fans? Is this contest over like our "ain't got that swing" opponent says? Or do we come out of our huddle and fight our hardest and smartest until the very final play is run?

UPDATE: It's definitely not over! Here's the latest: Hillary is advertising in WV, and going for a big win!

Hillary can go on and win this contest with wins half the size of what he sets forth as possible. Despite the media rush to misjudgment, it is still very possible that a substantial number of as yet undecided Super Delegates will vote for Hillary. Also, some of those now supporting O could flip. Politics is not nearly as predictable as the pundits want us to believe.

And hooray for my old Democratic hillbilly voting block! We can smell a phony from miles away.

check out what they have on their website:

However, while Senator Clinton has remained close and competitive in every meaningful measure, she is a close second and the race is over. It has become clear that Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee.

At the moment, Senator Clinton’s team is busily trying to convince Superdelegates and pundits that she is more electable than Barack Obama. For reasons discussed in a separate article, it doesn’t matter. Even if every single Superdelegate was convinced that the former First Lady is somewhat more electable than Obama, that is not enough of a reason to deny him the nomination.

With this in mind, Rasmussen Reports will soon end our daily tracking of the Democratic race and focus exclusively on the general election competition between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama. Barring something totally unforeseen, that is the choice American voters will have before them in November. While we have not firmly decided upon a final day for tracking the Democratic race, it is coming soon.

Wow. Guess they've decided who our nominee is, eh? :/

Well, lemme give 'em some help! If BO is the Dem nominee, McCain will be Prez, and no more time need be expended on polls!

Since when?

Since when do pollsters call a race before it's over?  Your cessation of polling the Clinton-Obama race is about the more irresponsible and unethical thing I've ever seen coming out of what I thought was a reputable organization.

It's back to Gallup for me.

It is like a mirror of past elections for Obama...Hillary wins against McCain...
Lots of polls showing Clinton wins over McCain, Obama loses.

Don't forget the other 'Drive': The San Francisco 49ers vs. the Cincinnatti Bengals in 1989. Substitute the name Joe Montana for John Elway, and 49ers for Denver Broncos, and you have a very similar come-from-behind miraculous victory.

What a great place to go see her! I haven't been inside that building since 1965, and I can't wait! I'll report back afterwards!

Sorry. It's exciting that you will get to see Hillary! I thought though you might also want to pass this along to your fellow W. Virginians:

Praying for Barack Obama's safety in West Virginia... Hotlist

Im praying for Barack Obama's safety tomorrow when he enters West Virgina.

* CrazyBeautiful's diary :: ::

I have been reading how West Virginians want to stay far away from Barack Obama, and how much they strongly oppose him. I don't think its smart for him to go there. If they want to be racist, ignorant bigots let them be. Reading the stories, articles, blogs, and reviews on peoples phone calls to West Virginia is sickening, and disheartening.

I am shocked in the year 2008 people are still so racist. Those people need to really get with the times. It's funny how Hillary Clinton is prancing around WV like shes a GOD to them. I bet that she will feel good that she won her "landslide" victory due to her racist bigots in West Virginia. She doesnt care, she has them eating out of her hand. Al Qaida could be voting for her and she wouldnt care... whatever gets her the vote...

Anyways, Im praying for Obama's safety tomorrow and hope everything goes ok. I dont expect him to change people's minds... just maybe he can get them to open their hearts or eyes...

The rabid O supporters truly believe
that to support Hillary instead of him, one
has to be a violent racist just waiting for
a chance to murder an African-American. Where
does all this sickening thinking originate?
Unfortunately, I think it's encouraged from
the very top of his campaign.

Well, maybe this woman should have read her words back to herself before she posted it for all to see.

Hmm, maybe Obama can get her to open her heart and eyes...

and I have a black friend in Cincinnati who told me black people there are leery about going to WV! Of course, I live in OH now, just across the river, but will always be a West Virginian. And, ya know, the Clintons ARE gods there, just like JFK is. Interesting, isn't it, that icons like these could be beloved both by white hillbillies and black people (or at least used to be). My husband told me that a TV commentator said BO wouldn't get many WV votes because he's not known there. I presume that means he didn't dare campaign there for fear of being murdered. The flim-flam man always has an excuse.

West Virginia probably has its share of bigots, just like every other state. But there's no excuse for the crap in that Daily Kos diary. And as for racism, West Virginians fought on the Union side, if memory serves. O did campaign in Charleston, and he outspent Hillary 2 to 1 in the state. He also had more paid staff there than she did. And speaking of flim flam, Hillary whipped O's butt there so bad because most mountain people can spot a phony from a mile away. Something about the daily struggle for existence always being a little more difficult in the mountains I think. Of course, one reason Colorado is so different from W. Va politically is that most people here live on the plains.

And the people who don't live on the plains in Colorado are either granolas in The People's Republic of Boulder (no offense, Nick) or similar types making their homes in suffering areas such as Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Telluride...
