Take me home, country roads.

Denver....coincidence? I don't think so.
Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains
Shenandoah river -
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
All my memories gathered round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine
Teardrops in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
I hear her voice
In the mornin hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin down the road I get a feelin
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, now country roads
Take me home, now country roads
"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK

Riverview Charlie's on the water in New Smyrna Beach after about 5 margaritas. The whole family singing it LOL and Geno on the guitar.
Wes Clark Democrats...let the Clinton campaign know who sent you
my daughter Julie just returned from her 2d year at West Virginia University! She loves it there! Sent this to her.

CNN is reporting Obama will speak from Missouri within the hour BEFORE`the West Virginia polls close. I believe that is a mistake. Does Obama really need to spin now? He needs to fight for these voters. This is not the way to do it.....

"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK

I just got on was a little lost. I am watching Fox, sure not watching the Obamabots..on msnbc or cnn...well maybe flashing back and forth. They just had Rove on! I listen to him, to hear the R's views..ya know what i mean! Sure better then hearing the other channels berate Hillary. Fox does not do that. Their ratings have gone up! Dems!
Juan williams on panel..
Why is Tim Russert on MSNBC tonight as an analyst? Didn't he already call the race? He shouldn't be allowed to comment on something he's already called.
I know that I shouldn't even turn on MSNBC but I did want to see if they included any women on their political panel tonight besides Rachel Maddow. Last Tuesday, they had 7 men and one women. No wonder - they don't think a women can be president so they couldn't possibly think that women could comment on the race.

I'm listening to some quite uplifting stuff here. Sunny Side of the Street...oh yea. Makes me wanna snap my fingers. What's going on anyway. OK - reading blog and bopping to the Paterson-meister.
Obama will suffer an electoral massacare tonight.
Sen. Clinton will win by 70% plus
She will also net 200,000 plus popular votes.
Congrats on the historic victory in advance, this battle was over before it even began.

if they call it for Hillary before any votes are in, as they did for O! in NC. Heh. Not holding my breath or anything, and yeah, gotta get dinner going...
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Him out of the water! HA! Ha! Now where did that picture of O on the water go? You know the one where he should have been walking on water?
call it for Hillary Clinton. 2 to 1 they are saying...

Politico.com is good -- just the results and they refresh automatically.
CNN Election Results is good, although I can't get the page to load right now, but the link is:
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#WV
And usually Jeralyn and BTD live-blog, although not sure they will tonight. But a good Hillary friendly place to get commentary on what the gasbags on the teevee are saying if you don't want to watch.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I honestly didn't think they'd call it so soon. Well, now I guess they can go cover O!'s speech in Minnesota or wherever the f he's droning.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Hi Doug! I'm bitter and clinging to my steak, baked potato and asparagus! :/
This is from jeralyn who watches the corporate cable so called news shows so we don't have to!
CNN analysts discuss Obama's speech. MSNBC is discussing McCain and Obama. Olbermann says to the Governor of West Virginia, "lets look past W. Va." The Governor, who is an uncommitted superdelegate, wants to talk about how high the voter turnout is. Olbermann responds by asking what West Virginia has to change to be able to have a November win for Obama.
The media is diminishing West Virginia reporting mostly how white, rural, poor and uneducated the voters are.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
The people of West Virginia should be pi**ed. They have been ridiculed, dissed and put down by almost every pundit. Stupid, uneducated, poor, white (that's a bad one), uninformed, clinging to guns and religion, racist. The Governor of the state happens to be a good guy and he should be upset. Now, if he comes out and endorses O after his voters voted so heavily for her at the same election that they voted him the winner of his own primary, then I'll call him a skunk.
And I, being born and bred there, remain one of the fold even though I live across the Ohio River. My fellow mountaineers showed them all tonight just how intelligent, informed, and wise we are!
to a Shellacking -- a great read at taylormarsh on BO's dismal speech in Missouri plus a very creepy New Republic cover of BO as . . . you guessed it!

Oh. My. Gawd. Did you see Mr. Hope in Missouri today? Excruciating. Halting. His head in his cheat sheets. No passion. But worse, a Democratic economic message that he couldn't even begin to get excited about. One thing about Senator Obama, when he's bad he's awful and this was simply awful.
You won't every catch Clinton sounding unenthusiastic about her economic message. As a candidate, Obama cannot touch her gifts for policy specifics and the passion to take it to people.
It didn't take long before Chris Matthews turned from "ruining mate" to laughing at Barack Obama, talking about the horrible advance work. But the audacity of these Hillary hating talking thugs to even think she'd drop out after a huge win tonight defies description.
We're waiting for it. Countdown to the shellacking. West Virginia comes in at 7:30 p.m. eastern time.

Now one of the commentators

States that the Clintons have been living in a parallel universe and must come to terms with reality at some point. He's mystified by her determination in the face of inevitable defeat. I need to turn to the cooking channel now. Oh, the ballroom where Hillary will give her great speech is being described as "empty." Oh geez, KO is such a hateful man. He had to get in yet one more nasty comment about Hillary's "greatest speech in the world," dripping contempt with each syllable.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Castellano on CNN just said Obama would have to hire a food tester if he chooses her as a VP. In what nation in the world would these people qualify as commentors.

...I'm making calls to the VVA for donations....which I do to earn pin money.
Please let me know when Hillary makes her victory speech

but they're in the House. Will try C-Span2. Nope, no election covereage there. How about 3?
Oh, the little crawl says live coverage on C-Span 2. I'll prolly miss it, unless it's after 6pm Pacific Time. Gotta do the dinner thang. Hope someone alerts us!
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
Oh my God. Can you believe it?! And the excuse de jure again: He lost because he didn't campaign there.

But that's not news. Nobody does. He's Mr. Everybody / Mr. Nobody. And if the superd's haven't figured it out by now, we're doomed.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
Looks like we won! Heh.
But no numbers yet other than big margin.
CNN has the crowd and they sound loud to me (KO said it was an empty room??) Gee, ya think he doesn't like Hillary or somethin?
Us Hillbillies jes LUV her!!
CNN just announced (with no small degree of chagrin) that tonight will not be the night that Hillary Clinton bows out of the race.
Yes, they did.
They are now puzzling over all the 'young people' they've seen in W VA supporting her... I'm sure they're just young hillbillies that don't know any better.
WOLF: "But but the math is so much against you... how can she win?"
Howard Wolfson handles the Wolf with grace and ease.
Wolf keeps interrupting him though and his voice is going up a few notes in frustration that Wolfson will not capitulate.
WOLFSON: We won Ohio TX Penn --- we weren't supposed to win these states
WOLF: But but but what about the financial burdens? She's out of cash?
WOLFSON: "No question Obama will outspend us. We have shown we can beat Sen Obama EVEN AFTER being outspent. We're gonna be outspent. That's OK"
WOLF: "--Allright allright. John (king) - I want you to show Howard Wolfson the MATH!"
John King "Wolf, I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that Howard has studied this math...."
He said the media has been telling voters that the nomination is decided - it's Obama, and DESPITE all of that hammering, millions are still going forward and casting their votes for Hillary in astonishing numbers (see W Virginia).
What does that tell you?
Ya think the media might be 'out of touch' with the peeps?
Oh good. Let's go to Donna Brazile now for some balance.
Sour looking faces on CNN tonight.
Wolf Blister has interjected about 100 more of his famous "But but but"s in the past 10 minutes than in most weeks.
RE the 48 state strategy and Howard Dean:
"The rules are the rules" ~ Donna Brazile
ms in la quotes wolf as saying (regarding Sen. Clinton):
'WOLF: But but but what about the financial burdens? She's out of cash?'
Someone remind Wolf that last summer, McCain was nearly out of cash, also. Look where he is now (with Cindy's help, I suppose).

Update: Unbelievable. An Obama superdelegate from W. Va. is on saying he will vote for Obama even though Hillary won his state because that's his job as a superdelegate, to vote for the best candidate in his view. When Hillary suggests superdelegates vote their conscience, people scream about how they are violating the will of the voters.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
Of course, this is a typical Fox News line, but, in this case, correct! The anchors and commentators have really had the BOers squirming over the significance of WV. Instead of just graciously saying something like "the Democrats are a diverse group", they're giving surly, nonsensical answers. I suppose some brave soul will eventually mention ethnicity, and then the Obamaniacs can scream "Racism!!" again!

The West Virginia exit polls indicate that he lost white voters 69-28. Astounding? Not really. In Ohio, Clinton won white voters 64-34. In Pennsylvania, Clinton won whites 63-37. Indiana? Whites went for Clinton 60-40. Massachusetts? Whites went for Clinton 58-40. Rhode Island? 63-31 for Clinton. North Carolina? 61-37. And the same in Arkansas, Tennessee, Maryland, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri and so on.
Obama has won the white vote in Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, Idaho, Utah, North Dakota, Nebraska, etc. West of the Mississippi all of them.
West Virginia is not an anamoly.
Obama's white working class problem is EAST of the Mississippi. It is not just Appalachia. It MUST be addressed. Calling West Virginia names is not going to solve the problem.
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

These numbers likely mean that he can't hold Pennsylvania or grab Ohio.

Roland Martin agrees
and then says it doesn't matter!

They can't take the bad news either! Jamal Simmons, Roland Martin, Donna B. all seem snippy, defensive and have their panties in a wad. They just can handle anyone questioning the Awesome One.

playing hypothetical math games.
Wolfson talks about his numbers not including FL and MI. Thinks 100% of those voters should be counted. So doesn't accept is math if it doesn't include FL and MI. Not going to a convention with only 48 states represented.
Super D's will look at WV vote and say "let's slow this down". Can we win in a GE without the candidate who won these big swing states.
Wolfie back on the "fuzzy" delegate math. Wolfson back on MI and FL...."it's the right thing to do" to count those votes. Democracy.
Ohhhhh...Campbell Brown tells Donna Brazile Wolfson put it all on her shoulders. Heh. She's....blah de blah about the rules. Roolz are the roolz. We know what that means now, don't we?
Ugh...time for a break........
He's defending Obama now in a high pitch! (MDO= Must Defend Obama)
WOLF: "He didn't even campaign!! The rules are the rules! The DNC said it!!!"
Wolf is not happy tonight.
Wolfson is still holding his own, despite the Wolf's constant interruptions.
Wolf just said "We are all anxious to hear the tone of her remarks tonight--"
Oh yeah. Let's hear the tone. And then let's have Wolf and Donna interpret that tone for us. I suppose it will be the usual divisive, racist, scorched earth tone we are all accustomed to.

It's all about what Hillary wants and they seem to believe the tone of her speech will give them a clue. Meanwhile, tweety kept talking about diaries he'd read at DKos. Is NBC going to buy the big orange place or something? Hard to imagine tweety ready Kos.
It's on MSNBC's mandatory daily reading list!
Remember the CORPORATE owned media are owned by the right, used by the right, to advance causes of the right.
The Tweety's and Wolfs and Campbell's and Candy's and Andrea's are their faithful "reporters".
The Arkansas Project Redux....er, I mean the Daily KObama is no different in its talking points than the Freepers and the other rightists when it comes to Clinton.
Clinton Did It.
Tweety and Daily KObama-- a perfect fit! Soon he'll be blogging there too, alongside KO. :) Wonder what his username is?

It's the tone that is the problem!
lmao
as if
ramming through another untried media darling- no problem. Tone? Problem!!!!!!

says (in answer to Brazile) we won't punish the people for the mistakes the party made. Corrected the BS about poor poor Bawack not having his name on the ballot in MI. Basically said that was his own fault. Good for Wolfson!
Waiting for Hillary's speech......

Bill Schnide was just showing how she killed him with non-college educated whites. Says "they don't usually vote for Dem in GE in WV, anyway".....blow them off. Then how she beat him with college educated....but there aren't that many of them in WV anyway....blow them off. Hahaha. These people are too much.

"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood of ideas in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people." JFK

um um um um like- hmmmm.... this reminds me of something.
Who else usually doesn't vote for Dem in GE anyway?
R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N-S thisissonothardtofigureout. Anyone getting how basing a nomination on illusory crossover appeal is maybe not too smartsy? Eh?
Cripes- wasn't "crossover apppeal" supposed to be his trump card? Wake the * up Dems.
I guess everyone who gets a degree at WVU or Marshall U (not to mention many other smaller colleges) immediately flees the state! Can you imagine him saying this about some predominantly black area in the South? I hope the utter, unmitigated ignorance of these TV commentators convinces voters not to heed a word of their propaganda!
I'm not exactly a pollster, but I think they are overstating the demographics of the type of voters Hillary attracts. Virtually everyone democrat young, old, college educated or not that I have encountered in central Massachusetts is pro-Hillary. There is far more passion towards her then there was towards Kerry in 2004.
Hillary attracts a diverse range of people. People from all different backgrounds like her.
I'm a former republican who is voted for Hillary in the primaries and I will vote for her in the general election.
to announce the numbers.
Because she stomped him no doubt.
They'll wait until something really huge like American Idol is on across from the cable news networks so they are less viewers available.
She must have cleaned his clock.
One of our very own Clarkies in WVA has worked tirelessly with her husband for Hillary. Her hubby is a retired officer and has been instrumental in leading the Vet effort there, introducing Hillary and Bill at various events. She reported this evening that the first results to come in would likely be the around around Charleston where a college and a good portion of their black vote is, so don't be discouraged if that's what you see first. The rest of the state will look right pretty!
Hillary even mentioned him in her closing remarks tonight when she was thanking everyone. Jack and Barb worked constantly for the last few weeks.
they just go to the gym during the losing primary results moments. I think my husband will be in great shape come June.
my vote in Michigan and all of those votes in Florida was not disenfranchisement. I wonder what she calls taking our voting rights away.
How can the Democratic Party nominate someone who only gets 26% of the vote in a late primary after outspending his opponent 2 to 1?
The people are speaking loud and clear. Let's hope the delegates are listening. Hillary has won 6 of the 7 most recent primaries.

waits until after we have dinner! LOL!!
Thanks to those who are watching the gasbags and reporting in!
Once in a while you get shown the light, In the strangest of places if you look at it right.
Dang...I was only there for 30 minutes...and I can't take it! Why didn't you guys remind me to wear a helmet and ear plugs. Oh wait, ms in la did warn me to watch my head.
It was sooo bad - I was trying to fall back on my high school shorthand, but I couldn't transcribe all of the crap fast enough.
Looks like Terry McAuliffe unfortunately said that Hillary's speech is going to be the speech of all speeches or something silly to that effect.
Ok- now KO is making fun of what McAuliffe said about the upcoming speech to Russert and making some snide comparison to one of Churchill's speeches. Now, KO, Russert and Tweety are all laughing about her upcoming speech and continuing on with their middle school humor.
Now they're trying to take away from her win by discussing her terrible financial situation.
Ok, Huckabee is on - and making fun of her speech.
Whew, Norah doing the exit polls now..so that shuts them up for a few minutes.
Think I need to get a strong drink before I go back in --not that I will.
I think I'll switch over to FOX.
CM filled in for Joe Scarborough this am and was frantically over talking everyone in efforts to slam Hillary. It was absolute unwatchable crap.
My demographic.
I think I'm an elitist Hillbilly.

And...
1.) I'm a Hill
2.) I'm a fan of Hill and Bill
Wes Clark Democrats...let the Clinton campaign know who sent you

Do you really think that's it? Do you think that somewhere in the all pervasive under-conscious of the democratic demographic there's a subliminal elitism that is put-off by the very simple and inarguable fact that these two names:
Hill Bill
come too close to "hillbilly" making them, therefore, from here on ever after, just too darn low-brow for the high falutin' halls of the White House?
Well....makes as much sense as anything else. Geesh.
but could just as easily be snipped from the Daily KO

jen says,
'Obama has won the white vote in Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, Idaho, Utah, North Dakota, Nebraska, etc. West of the Mississippi all of them.'
Last time I checked a map, Wisconsin was east of the Mississippi. Did somebody move Wisconsin to the west, or did they move the Mississippi to the east? (referring to the Misssissippi River)

what BTD said at Talk Left. Take it up with him.
