of the greasy palm! Good post at www.liberalrapture.com

"Every Democratic loser of the past half century has gotten on the Obama greasy palm express. Frankly, I am sick of hearing that I should be begging SD's to do the right thing. The winning thing. Obama is blackmailing them - pure and simple- promising dough and lining them up to endorse when he needs to overtake a bad news cycle. He is the pollution in the system he speaks against. If the SD's can't see the truth then, frankly, they are in a party I no can longer call my own. The party of the greased palm. Forget it. Nominating someone so supremely unqualified and so easily beaten in the Fall tells me one thing: the SD's don't care about the party. They care about their positions. They care about BHO's money lists.
So - no - I will not be emailing any more SD's asking them politely to do the obvious."

This article is an absolute must-read! It is an analysis of how BO has been marketed into Brand Obama. It's from an on-line business publication, and, fair warning, admirative of the marketing strategies put into play (also pro-BO). However, it's a real eye-opener! And without the model for all future political campaigns. Nausea pill may be necessary.

May 15, 2008

Conyers: 'We're closing in on Rove'

Just off the House floor today, the Crypt overheard House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers tell two other people: “We’re closing in on Rove. Someone’s got to kick his ass.”

Asked a few minutes later for a more official explanation, Conyers told us that Rove has a week to appear before his committee. If he doesn’t, said Conyers, “We’ll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We’d hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested.”

Conyers said the committee wants Rove to testify about his role in the imprisonment of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, among other things.

“We want him for so many things, it’s hard to keep track,” Conyers said.

'Fully 72% of the public - including comparable percentages of Democrats, Republicans and independents - say that journalists should not be anointing Obama as the Democratic nominee at this stage in the race. Just 20% say that journalists should be doing this. '

Wanting this race over is another symptom of the "instant gratification" disease that infects this country.

"FL & MI Deserve To Be Heard"

Millions of people in Florida and Michigan went to the polls to make their voices heard in the Democratic Presidential primary. They deserve to have their votes count.

The DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee is meeting on May 31 to make a decision about Florida and Michigan. Send a message to the DNC telling them to count the votes and seat Florida and Michigan's delegates.

I wrote them -- again. And again.

Each letter is showing less and less patience. Here's this one:

______________________________

Democracy is about counting voters' votes. Letting their voices be heard. Never since the stopping of the counting in FLA in 2000 could I have imagined a time I would be writing to the DEMOCRATIC party and begging them to count voters votes. Millions of voters votes. Oh but the rules... Yeah I know. Right.

Count the damn votes or be prepared to lose an awful lot of "weight" on your member rolls this fall.

$%^&*#@**!

From one raised in Michigan, where my family and friends are suffering the hardest from Bush's nightmare war and nightmare economic disasters. These people have paid dearly in lives of their offspring (see Iraq death and wounded stats) and in loss of income, homes, and pensions. (see Auto workers)

How dare you disenfranchise them now.

#$%^&**%#!

COUNT THE DAMN VOTES!

Corbett's Corner

Why I'm Turning Down Obama
Friday, May 16, 2008

"Operation Turndown" has deep roots in my own personal radical politics.

If Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for president, I will not vote for him.

I will turn him down.

Judging from callers to "Corbett" yesterday, so will many other Democrats.

Democrats must follow their hearts and their heads.

they really need to be FLOODED with emails from Dems who tell them what they think and feel and tell them just how long they intend to remain loyal paying customers if they keep up with this kind of disenfranchisement. Oh I know.... Donna Brazile is ruffled by the word "disenfranchisement" when referring to FL and MI.... guess it exacerbates her guilt.

Good.

Have out of town company this weekend, but checked in, saw this and sent them another message. It's absurd they are punishing the voters in 2 States for decisions and judgments made by the "party leaders." If this stands, if those voices are not included in deciding who our nominee will be, then what's the point of anybody participating at all?

First they decide who gets to run -- hence our General could find no way to have a fair shake in the race -- then the press decides who will be heard, and who will be blacked out, thus eliminating everyone they deem not worthy. And now between the corruption in both parties and the corporate control of our press, they're shoving the weakest candidate imaginable down our collective throats to run against a war-mongering, PNAC supporting, downright scary guy who may or may not have all his marbles. :(

I just wrote my 2 cents worth. I also just received an email asking for a contribution to the DNC and when I unsubscribed I was given a comments box to say why I was unsubscribing. You can bet I told them how disappointed I am that they would allow Hillary and Bill to be vilified by the press and the Obama supporters. The DNC should have interceded and put an end to the hurtful lies being spread about the Clintons but they did not, so I do not want to be associated with them any longer.

Hans von Spakovsky withdraws as FEC nominee.

Today, Hans von Spakovsky — President Bush’s nominee to the FEC and a lighting rod for criticism over his history of voter suppression at the Justice Department — withdrew his nomination. The Senate had blocked Spakovsky over concern about his tenure at the DOJ, where he unilaterally approved stringent voter ID laws and blocked investigations into voter discrimination. View Spakovsky’s resignation letter here.
