ACTION ALERT! Walk a Mile in Our Shoes

Feel frustrated about Michigan and Florida and want to DO something that the DNC cannot help but notice? A group has set up a very clever project—you can see details here.
http://www.walkamileinourshoes.org/
Send a pair of shoes to the DNC or gather up a bunch. Include your own message, respectfully asking the DNC to pay attention to us regular people.
The good news is that the DNC will be asked to donate the shoes to an organization that will give them new life, AND if the goal of 10,000 pairs of shoes is reached, the media attention will certainly follow.
The bad news is that you have to act VERY fast! Shoes should be at the DNC by May 30th. Shoes should go out tomorrow or Saturday, but no later than next Tuesday (Monday is Memorial Day) for less expensive postage. (After that, the postage becomes prohibitive if the shoes are to get there in time.)
Thanks for getting involved. PLEASE tell your friends. You could do a box of them. I did the group’s logo (not on the web page yet as I write). The shoes are Hillary's favorite color.

And testvet is right -- priority box is the way to go!
Thanks, Tricia!

office, and then let them know how we feel!
The first time I called, the guy I talked to was very polite and he seriously talked to me for a few minutes. The next time I called a few weeks later, the lady who I talked with did not really want to hear it but she was polite anyway.
The more calls that they get, the more that they should understand how very serious of an issue that this really is!
It brings home the point that these votes are not just numbers, they belong to real people. Real people who are really angry! I like your logo too!

Anyone considering sending shoes, I humbly suggesting printing Kristen Breitweiser's You Broke It You Own It Obama Style & sending it with. Should be required reading for all SuperD's & anyone drawing a paycheck from teh awesome DNC.

I am getting my shoes off in the mail today. The PO lady helped me decide how to do it. If shoes weigh less than a pound, then a puffy envelope is around $3. (much more if more than a pound). But I have 3 pair to send, so I selected a flat rate Priority box just as TestVet suggested (medium size--there is a bigger one available) for $9.80.
I know that seems like a lot of $ for this activity, but the neat thing about it is that the DNC WILL notice. They can't help themselves. And the more shoes they get, the more impact the project will have.
Hope man of you can get some shoes off by next Tuesday at the latest.

The priority boxes will hold 2-3 pairs of shoes and cost the same and get delivered in three days it may be cheaper than mailing them in a regular box even at first class postage just a thought I use to be a mailman
