I'm Voting Republican

(This doesn't meet the strict rules of what constitutes a blog entry, but I found it too poignant to let it slip away in the GD.)

The reasons people choose to vote Republican. But that being said. I am a firm believer that there are DINOS (really Republicans) in the Democratic Party. (Take Lieberman for example before he put that (I) by his name). I also believe that there are RINOS in the Republican Party. But it can be really hard to weed it out an tell the difference. Unless you're paying real close attention.

she's voting Republican. I said, "If you think McCain will straighten out the pitiful economy, vote for him. If you think McCain should reverse Roe vs Wade, vote for him. If you like the idea of our troops staying in Iraq indefinitely, vote for him. If you think he'll support the blue collar workers, vote for him. If you think he's got a great health care plan, vote for him." There's a lot I could have added, but what I said was sufficient to get a blank stare.

Becky Sue, I so agree. Eventually, those Republicans in Democrat clothing tell on themselves.

I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them.

Economic policy: set by Congress

Iraq war: funded by Congress

Union Policy: laws passed by Congress

Health Care Plans: set by Congress

Congress has been controlled by Democrats since 2006 and nothing really being attempted by these 'leaders' there.

That leaves the Supreme Court which is basically controlled by Presidential nomination. After seeing the lack of support for constitutional rights of 600+ people (FLDS members) in Texas [with a few exceptions like the ACLU and various lawyers), I'm not giving the Democrats any credit for protecting our rights (hey, didn't most of them vote for the Patriot Act anyways?). And after seeing the great support the DNC gave to a woman running for President, I'm not giving them any credit for standing up for women either.

In terms of the FLDS, it was the nine Justices on the Texas Supreme Court (all Republican) that finally put a stop to that nonsense despite people like Democratic leader Harry Reid supporting kidnapping a bunch of kids under gunpoint based on a hoax call without any evidence.

Very effective video.

Hi Nelsons!

I thought this might be a good place to put this. (I'm not sure what constitutes a separate blog either!)

RENO - Ex-Democratic vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro praised the Nevada Women's Fund on Tuesday for using their resources to help young women overcome adversity in the same way Barack Obama beat long odds to become his party's presidential nominee.

"I want a fairer country for women and girls - black, white, yellow or brown, I don't care what color. And I'm not going to stop pushing. You women are empowered to help make that happen," Ferraro told about 1,000 people at the nonprofit group's 17th annual "Salute to Women of Achievement."

"Last year at this time, when Sen. Obama announced for the presidency, people white and black alike said, 'You can't do it. This country is not ready for a black man to be nominated president of the United States,"' she said.

"Well, he said, 'Yes, we can.' And he didn't wait for someone to give it to him, he worked hard and he earned the nomination," said the former New York congresswoman, who became the first woman on a major party's presidential ticket as Walter Mondale's running mate in 1984.

"And now today, the Nevada Women's Fund and your honorees' devotion to fairness, you are also saying, 'Yes, we can.' And I have no doubt that together, we will be successful."
