Joan WalshTuesday July 1, 2008 19:23 EDTSlamming Wesley Clark

I was sorry to see the Obama campaign "reject" Gen. Wesley Clark's remarks about John McCain on Face the Nation yesterday. I think the context of Clark's remarks mattered (although that's gotten lost in the right wing blogosphere's attacks on Clark). Clark was baited into his statement by host Bob Schieffer, who took issue with some earlier, milder remarks Clark had made about McCain's military service not being direct preparation for the presidency.

bless Joan's heart. Many fine people are standing up for our General. And it's the right thing to do. Wes deserves no less.

Too bad the one who counted most DID NOT stand up for Wes. He was too chicken shit.

Perhaps some won't forget that word that goes side by side with "leadership"...."accountability". I haven't seen either in the past few days out of that who strive's to be one....a leader....or those who strive to make it so.

The netroots have been far far more supportive of General Clark than I expected around this. I admit that I have grown jaded with the left liberal blogosphere, but for the most part people in it have really rallied to General Clark's side over the attacks being made against him. It is nice to see Wes Clark being treated with such respect at least in that quarter.
