So, It's Pretty Strange without Wes Tonight

Wesley Clark
Why isn't our general speaking? This IS a veteran's night, isn't it?
Will he speak tomorrow?

I haven't been able to find out anything.

Or was it Wes Jr? (darn CRS -- can't remember who said what at the time... might have been both) But in either case, WKC would not have been in Europe this week if Obama's people or the DNC had wanted him in Denver.
That he would change his plans and be available if he were asked and if his appearance could contribute in a meaningful way.

Not overly optimistically or unrealistically I hope, but Wes seems to be exuberant about the Obama "team" -- and I believe he knows he will have a place on it. Then I will be completely comforted.

Other than the very nice video about the veterans, I must have missed the point of the use of Securing America's Future. The only thing the speakers seemed to be trying to secure was the election of the nominee. Our heavy hitting Dems - the ones who had the credibility to take on the security issue - are Wes Clark, Jim Webb, even Jack Reed but these men were notably absent. Oh yes, we did get Claudia Kennedy, Bill Richardson and Amy Klobuchar in addition to the featured speeches of President Clinton and Biden.

But in my mind, these were all B list politicians.
Tonight is the night for the A list politicians -- Wes Clark is on the A Team!
"It takes two to speak the truth - one to speak and one to hear." - Henry David Thoreau

If he's just one of a bunch of generals on stage in some sort of grandiose photo op, that's hardly A Team. If he's given individual recognition, well, it's still not A Team per se, but it's more than I dare hope for.
