General Wesley Clark
Remarks On Twenty Year Vision For America
Manchester, NH
January 10, 2004

We'll still need our armed forces and we'll take every necessary action to make America safe — but we'll gain that safety not by force of arms, but by who we are and what we represent. For we should be an America not puffed up by pride in our own power, but rather an America humbled by the recognition of our common humanity. We must make sure that globalization helps people around the world, raising living standards and improving the environment everywhere — rather than leading a race to the bottom.

The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off. ~Gloria Steinem

On a different note, at least a couple of networks sent out alerts that Hurricane Gustav was a category 5 - that is not true. A FEMA official was being interviewed and incorrectly stated that it was category 5. In fact its a category 4 and just reaching western Cuba. By Monday it should reach the Gulf Coast somewhere along the LA coast or maybe the Texas coast.

That's just the problem, FEMA is already in NOLA. It was the head of FEMA who "misspoke" calling Gustav a category 5. Gustav is going to hit our coast somewhere and its very likely it will be a major hurricane when it does so everyone might consider getting out of NOLA (and many are evacuating today), but if FEMA wants to stay that's fine with me. :)
