TPMCafe Day 2 Topic 2: Making a difference
Submitted by larry on August 30, 2005 - 5:39pm.
Hey everyone. General Clark posted another note today on TPM Cafe. Read General Clark's post on Making a difference. Excerpt below:
I just wanted to post a brief note from La Crosse, WI where I have just finished speaking with over 50 new employees of the local Boys and Girls Clubs.
As a child, the Boys and Girls Club of America played an important role in my development as a person and as a responsible citizen. After my father died when I was very young, the Boys and Girls Club in Little Rock played a big part in my life, giving me a place to go, things to do, and other kids and adults to socialize with.
Read the rest here.
If you missed the post on the GI Bill, you can read it here.

Everyone, please rate this up so it can get back on BoB.
Larry since we lost the other GI bill blog, do you want to change the title to note 2 topics for day 2? Maybe there is not room.

but does anyone know how to find the other TPM day 2 blog?

I was lucky and had kept a bunch of windows open. It happened to still be open on my task bar.
You can go into "my account" and "track" and see blogs you have posted to. That can help sometimes.

Let's collect them here, and then post them all over there!

"Thank you for your generous donation of XXX, in honor of General Wesley Clark."

This is just the lead for a terrific comment on the need for Boys and Girls Clubs. Check out the entire comment and post your thoughts today.

Dear General Clark,
As an African American woman, I can't tell you how wonderful I believe your sentiment and your actions are in connection to the Boys and Girl Club. Considering the lack of funding for after school programs at the public schools and the competitive nature of college entrance in showing extracurricular activities on the applications; for some financially underpriviledged youngster, the Boys and Girls Club is a welcome site and a saving grace.
I belong to a church in a troubled community where we attempt to promote the welfare of children through a tutoring and sports programs, but it is a very difficult task. Organizations like the Boys and Girls Club are the model that we attempt to mimic, and so the Club does more than it even realizes.

Who from CCN will post first?
