MEDIA ALERT: General Clark on Fox News Special Report on Iraq, 11 am ET
Submitted by larry on November 22, 2005 - 11:24am.
General Clark will be appearing on Fox News with Richard Perle to discuss Iraq. Sorry for the late notice, but this is a last minute deal.

Anybody see this?
"The mark of leadership is not to standup when everybody is standing, but rather to actually stand up when no one else is standing" - Pulitzer Prize winning author Samantha Power, introducing Gen Clark

Black suit, white shirt and red tie with a white pattern in it. Looked relaxed and glad to be on TV. He didn't say anything we haven't hear before, but Bill Hemmer was very respectful and what a difference in style to have an anchor come from CNN who can ask good questions without having to read the teleprompter. Later in the program, Congressman Hunter quoted something Wes had said about not pulling out of Iraq now and Hemmer also quoted something "the general" said. I think that's a good thing. Especially coming from Hunter. It's a sign that some of the really harder right members of congress see Wes as someone they can talk to. Wouldn't it be refreshing to have a president that people on both sides of the aisle think they can talk to and have listen to them?

I must say I am surprised to read that Bill Hemmer was respectful toward General Clark. He has been known (during the 2004 campaign) to be less than polite in the past. In fact, he's been a downright jerk on a couple of occasions that come to mind.
If you want to talk about uniting, not dividing.....then yes, Wes is your man. I think he would be a fabulous leader for both sides of the aisle.
And btw.....thanks for presenting the haberdashery report! You know how some of us are about that sort of thing......
to that when he was with CNN. He thought that he was the bees knees on CNN and seems to been brought down a peg or two and is more respectful on Fox. Be interesting to see whether it lasts.
Unfortunately, I did not see today's appearance by the General. When I switched onto Fox he had already been on, but it wasn't possible to know that he'd been on for about 20 mins. Hope someone caught it for us.

I'm at work and couldn't catch it....Thanks for the recap....

Thanks for the report, LJM. CCN seems to be down now--and I don't guess anyone got a video downloaded?
BTW, speaking of someone both sides will listen to, there is a positive Clark post on Mark Warner's PAC blog. Warner is gaining some in the Kos poll, but Clark is still head. I think that a lot of Clark people would like to see both on the ticket.
The General gets it right. Competence--What a concept!

I missed this (and am missing lots of things right now) because I've got my mom here for the week and we're in the middle of a marathon baking session to make and ship Christmas cookies over to my son's platoon in Germany.
It's good to have Wes Clark in the world.
Am on the West Coast. It seems every time I read about a Fox appearance, it's already happened. I wish they had him on later in the day, or maybe they don't want him in prime time.
Have been gone a long time from the board.(traveling) It's good to see you all here.

There was breaking news about Padilla's indictment that pushed the show back and Wes came on by himself and not for long.
Tonight on News Hour, Holbrooke was on talking about Bosnia. He talked about being with Wes when that vehicle went off the side of the road. He gave Wes credit for working on the various documents they created to manage Bosnia and do the Dayton Peace Accord.

General Clak also appeared on Fox and Friends this morning at approx. 7.12 AM ET, interviewed by the horrifying E.D. Hill and the blond, brain dead guy. Both were deferential and allowed Gen. Clark to talk.
Anyone catch it?

That's coming up soon!
