Our General hasn't strayed far from Faux this week.  To have him appear almost every day points out just what issues are making the news and will be used by the Republicans as we head into the 06 campaigns.

Wes gets asked that question he should just say, "of course I'd like to be president. I ran for president in 2004. Would you like me to be president?" Turn it back on them. I feel cheated out of finding out what Wes really thinks about Iran, Syria and Pakistan. How much time was wasted talkng about Hillary and Al Gore?

He is so-o-o smooth.  What a vast amount of knowledge about everything.  Disagreed that Democrats have no plans.  Said he had been speaking out all over the US, presenting his ideas about solving problems in the Middle East.  He is such a firm believer in diplomacy and that sometimes it has to be backed up with force or the threat of force.  Wes is the man for president in 2008!

I've noticed the past few appearances they've starting to ask him more and more about the politics of things.  He needs to be more and more prepared for it.  ;)

I think that Cavuto may actually be more obnoxious than Sean Hannity, I really can't stand Fox unless Wes is on.

Needless to say Wes really did well, he didn't let himself get pulled off topic or turn against the Democrats, which I get the distinct feeling was what Cavuto was trying to do with the Stuff about Gore, Hillary and the possibility of him running for President. I really think they want to make him say something to aleinate the left, it doesn't seem to be working though, I loved this one...

thanks to Ruth I've just had a chance to watch that interview. It was excellent. I don't like Neil Cavuto, but at least he's not as full of bluster as O'Reilly or Hannity and he gave Wes some room to speak his mind (and what a mind!)

My favourite bits were Wes's line about Syria being "caught in a squeeze play ideologically".

His reaction Cavuto's apparent eagerness to attack Iran was pure gold: "and then what? what's the end state?" (I'm assuming he was saying "end state" and not "in state"?) I liked how he pointed out attacking Iran won't suddenly make Ahmedinijahd say "I give up, I'll be your friend". And the good thing was Cavuto got the message that it'd likely galvanise opposition to the US in the region.

"And then what?" is the question I'd like to see asked far more before military action is taken anywhere. Imagine if it'd been asked seriously before the invasion of Iraq?

Anyway, what can I say other than nearly nine minutes of the General, finishing with clear connections to him, the Democrats and the presidency can't be a bad thing. He should be in studio more often, and with Neil Cavuto if that's the platform it's going to provide.

The most irritating part of Cavuto's 'faux' reasonableness was where he said that Wes's Dem colleagues were to the left of him on foreign policy or national security (can't remember the exact reference). What bugged me was the way he said "left" -- as if that very word indicated positions that are flawed and dangerous. I mean, obviously, that's how these wingnuts think, but the poisoning of the word "left" infuriates me.

it's what shots they play and to what part of the field that is interesting to note.

Cavuto's use of the word "left" and framing the issue that Clark might have to run because the Dems are "too far to the left" that was telling. And total bull as well.

auh they have been trashing 'left' the word since God knows when ... I don't think that was example serious framing... labeling as much as framing... Cavuto's most important frame... is in the introduction to his audience... 'welcome to your world' his right wing audience is told you are entitled to rule the world... or some such thing... could make a better closer interpretation but not really thinking in these terms now... I am stuck on two thing

1) do you have any idea why nobody will respond to my blogs and messages about http://scroogle.org the alternative to google that can not track your researching... not one bite 2) do you know how to make the computer accept a list entry so I can list buddies ? I am computer illieterate mostly

but my mind of course is on ALITO FILIBUSTER

at the moment I am enjoying my hobby reading about astrophysics spaceastronomy... Rocket man .... now that was genius ... I am reading about 'frame dragging' predicted in 1918 the Lense-Thirring effect studying it with satellites since 1993 they publically declaring their findings late 1990's and 2004.. funny how that word 'frame' is in my lexicon this week...

I am having a hard time concentrating on it... these days are the most important days since the beginning of this country that's my feeling... that's gravity.

If you click on another user's name (on a post, or on one of the boxes down the left hand side of any page) it will take you to a page which gives your their "history". It tells you how long they've been a member, who's on their buddy list, and underneath that it has a header that says Buddy Actions then a clickable link that says "add [blogger's name] to my buddy list."

After you click on this another page will come up with a button on it which you must click to complete the operation.

If you want to see whenever a buddy has made a blog post you need to click on the "my account" link at the top left hand side of the page then look for the "edit" tab near the top of the page (under the red bar across the top).

When you click on that it will open up a page that allows you to set your preferences.

scroll down a bit and look for the brownish header that says "Block configuration".

there are some check boxes there and you can select to see Buddies recent posts. You can also check My comments, which will mean a little box appears on the left hand side of your page which records your last five comments. It will indicate if there've been replies to your comment -- and how many. (this is the feature I was alluding to the other day when I asked if you could click on "reply" when responding to a post.)

Also, if you click where it says "more" at the bottom of that "My comments" box you'll find a complete history of all your comments and the replies to them.

As to why your blog post about scroogle attracted no comments ... can't tell you. That's just the way it is. Sometimes you get quite a few responses, sometimes you don't. Depends what else is happening, how many people are around, what mood people are in ... it's one of life's little mysteries.

two main things to remember: The fact no one replies doesn't necessarily mean no one has read and taken note of what you've said. And if no one replies, never take it personally.

You'd be taking them to the Better Business Bureau if you bought a washing machine the way we went into the war in Iraq. Wes Clark, CNN Aug 17 2003

can read it away from the screen glar and do it... thanks again

It's been what an hour or so ..and really to be more precise.... framing is framing the unconscious mind.......

when as you referred to the left comment from the anchor to W.C. and then another reference to rank left of left whatever it was... that is called setting expectations ( that is conscious stuff)  like changing the volumn of music... people notice when you change setting and react ( it dos of course have a unconscious component but you know ) this is game playing the corrupt media to the Dem side of the government... you see it every political Media theater show... any one worth their salt can deal with that and you see how W.C. deals with it... very adept at that stuff.. even the greeting 'welcome to your world ...is not really a frame per se because whats unconscious about that that is declarative... expectations setting  and it is used every show it is repeated and it is telling them who they are ' entitled viewers of Fox right winger nuts it's your world... hardening  I would call that conditioning certainly but it is hardening becasue it is aimed at the ego... hardening the boundary of the ego to territory scope dimensions... it is their world... territory is about fighting to the death...that what ego does tells you this is me... everyting else is other ... but when ego is fondled to create ignorance and hype territoralized instinct then you know neighbors fight over boundaries... states bicker about boundaries... nations fight wars over boundaries... hyper stroking the ego.... like training a dog that is domestic to become an attack dog... it is no little thing psychological language skills.

P.S. buddies list I may be mistaken about this I thought it will be easier for me to find people's comments on these long threads if I have them on my buddy list... my eyes can't take the screen glare... yuk
