It's time to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and DO some action!  I'm serious - I hardly blog on here or on Kos or anywhere else because it's little action and a lot of talk. 

I just finished writing every Democratic Senator asking them to stand behind John Kerry and the filibuster of Alito.  I'm sick our the Democratic party not standing together.  We haven't lost any hope, we only lose hope when we don't petition our elected officials to act on our behalf!

So today I'm setting out to challenge fellow Democrats on blogs on Yahoo groups to do what I just did, yes it was teadious but you know what?  I love my country and I love it enough to take a small amount of time and petition those who represent my interests.

If you need inspiration here's my letter that I wrote to all of the Democratic Senators:

Dear Senator ___________:

I am a Catholic married woman and mother of 2 little girls.  I beg you to please consider standing with our Democratic party and filibuster with Senator Kerry against Samuel Alito's confirmation.

I want my daugthers to know the same reproductive rights and the same free society that I have enjoyed.  Samuel Alito is a dangerous addition to the Supreme Court not only for his views on abortion rights but also for his views on Presidential power.  With his confirmation will come the erosion of civil liberties, the checks and balance of power.

There has to be a time where standing with your party means something and Sir/Madam that is now.   Please please consider this humble appeal by a citizen of the United States and stand with Democrats, be a person that our party can be proud of and be a person that can let fellow Democrats be proud of their party.
