I'd like to thank Gen. Clark for coming by Jim Webb's campaign headquarters this morning to offer his endorsement.  Turnout was great, and there were a lot of familiar faces in the crowd -- people who had been Clark supporters during the 2003-4 primary season.

 In Clark’s endorsement speech, he spoke of Webb in glowing terms as a man who understands national security, who understands the importance of “checks and balances” in our system of government, and who will “have the courage to say what’s right regarldess of wher ethe chips fall” politically. According to Clark, Jim Webb “sees the glass clearly,” and is a man who will always strive to “know the facts and make the right call.” Clark added that “Jim Webb is the kind of man that will put the interests of the people of this state first, and that Webb will “take his fight to the floor of the U.S. Senate, he won’t back down from any challenge and he will focus on the job he is elected to do.”
