Super Tuesday 2006

Super Tuesday 2006 - You Can Make a Difference

June 6. One Week. Democratic Primaries in 8 States. Six WesPAC Endorsed Candidates.

In one week, five of General Clark's endorsed congressional candidates have their primaries.  General Clark has also endorsed a candidate for Lt. Governor. Each race is important and several are very tight.

General Clark has actively campaigned for each of the six candidates.  Your help in winning each race is urgently needed and critical to success.  The Clark community can be a decisive resource in helping General Clark support the six candidates on June 6.

We believe there is nothing we can do as Clark supporters more important than to make sure these candidates get into the general election.

Take action and help today - and every day for the next week.

WesPAC members are working closely with the six campaigns on General Clark's behalf.  We need your help today, tomorrow, and every day for the next week.

Three immediate steps you can take toward victory on June 6:

1. Contribute now. We know General Clark has asked you to help each candidate before. The closing week is the most vital. Please contribute what you can to one or more of the candidates.
The easiest way to contribute is to join the Clark Grassroots individuals who are making a difference in these campaigns. Go to http://www.actblue.com/page/wespac  and make a secure contribution today. Making a contribution on this page demonstrates the impact General Clark is having on these races.
2. Contact the Clark liaison (listed below) for each campaign and volunteer to phone bank.
3. Forward this note to every Clark-supporter you know.

Please do this today. We are in the closing days when voters wake up and elections are won or lost. Your help makes a difference and demonstrates that General Clark can mobilize the grassroots to help candidates.

The Congressional candidates are:

for my contribution to Boswell yesterday. Is this going out in an e-mail to everyone on the WesPAC list so it's easier to forward to others?

People all over the place have sent it to every Clark-related Yahoo! group known to the universe and their private e-mail address books.

Time is a-wastin'. Get the word out.

Dear Sybil Liberty,

This week, Jackie Speier's opponent John Garamendi launched a wave of false and misleading attack ads on TV, distorting Jackie's record and smearing her reputation.  It's a cheap shot, a sign of Garamendi's desperation -- and we can't let it go unanswered. <snipped>

"Garamendi's ads insinuate that Senator Speier has taken a quarter of a million dollars from Enron. This has no basis in fact.

"Garamendi's ads allege that Senator Speier is soft on corporate crime. That's simply not true...

"Garamendi's ads also claim that he doesn't take contributions from insurance companies. The public record shows otherwise.

"Is this all Mr. Garamendi has to offer the voters after his 30 years as an elected official?  It's time for him to follow Jackie Speier's lead and sign the Clean Campaign Pledge and take his deceptive ads off the air."

Please help defend Jackie against John Garamendi's false, negative attacks in these closing days.  Contribute today!

Local Radio Interview  campaign forJackie Spiers for Lt Governor CAJS  we are now ahead in the  poll by 5% we had 15% jump we finally got our media up statewide and voters are connecting to me we have positive ads and there is a lot of negative ads out there ... Host  accused you of taking money from Enron - and insurance company money what do you sayJS I received in 2000 a contribution from Enron for $5000.  then I carried legislation about energy - for investigations into their manipulation of energy market ... were they really off line or manipulating the market that was the legislation I carried that so that is an outrageous argument that I owe Enron and energy manipulators
I have 30% of vote Garmandi ( sp?) he has 20% of vote Host it is a close raceyou have most of the endorsements
JS I have most of the endorsements
Host  why does anyone want Lt. GovernorJS it is an under utilized office I want to change that - a position where we hold UC higher education accountable for doing something ... I want to do that for higher education because Lt. Governor is on Board of Regents for UC university ssytem ... I want to make sure there is access make sure we understand what is at stake when if we starve higher education... we rank 40th in nation for students that graduate HS and go onto college
we rank 42ond K-12 spending on K-12 ... 50th - 51rst in nation for student to counselor ration .... ( EB notes remember Proposition 13 thirty years ago -- the GOP trojan horse... that was a property tax issue but really engineered to demise the CA  pulbic edu system which it did ) JS  our economy is knowledge based .. so if we don't grow scientist and math majors... we will become the suburb of Bangalore ... we have 1 in 6 bio tech companies in world  in CA now...  that came into being because we invested in research.... Board of Regents to UC as Lt. Governor....  we do want them to be accountable and it starts at the Board of Regents .... we have to stop having stratification  K-12 from college - higher edu  in CA has to be more involved with K-12 education
I will be on the road most of weekend in San Diego on Monday - vote on Tuesday .... Host   are you having a debateJS on radio talk show in LA today  - we are having a mini debateHost we hope you win
