Donuts Gone – We got Hungry. EAT!

CCN Series Blogs
“Donuts” worked out well for awhile, but serious growth needs good nutrition, and it’s near time for the Clark Community Network to start our seven part feast of scheduled Series Blogs. That means it’s time for serious EATing to begin. – with a new CCN Editorial Advisory Team. Yes, E.A.T is the new name for the new working group that grew out of the crumbs left over from our original Donuts (and if by chance you the reader are a new member of Clark Community Network, or a new Guest here, and you don’t have the foggiest idea what I’m talking about – best chalk it up as an in joke that’s not worth the effort to figure out - trust me on this. “Donuts” has gotten stale by now).
Chances are we’ll often skip the formal name for the Committee that I’m introducing you to today, and just say “the Editorial Team” rather than the CCN Editorial Advisory Team. You have to admit that sounds less clumsy, but please remember that “Advisory ” fits there in the middle, or else we won’t be able to spell out E.A.T., and actually “Advisory” is at the center of what this new team will be doing.
OK, so who is E.A.T anyway? What really became of the Donuts, and what will E.A.T. be doing (beyond the obvious puns that is)? Well, to start with E.A.T. has three returning and newly transformed “Donuts”; MS in LA, CarolNYC, and me . You may all remember that not only did the name for the old team, “Donuts”, organically sprout from the fertile imagination of CCN regulars, but the entire initiative started out fairly impromptu. Improving CCN already was an ongoing discussion in many circles, but the latest push emerged from problem solving suggestions made by members of CCN right here at on this site. And then some of the people who opened their big mouths the furthest got drafted into a group to actually put up or shut up with all that loose talk (let that be a lesson to everyone). A couple of other bleeding hearts got pulled in along the way, but the point is “Donuts” was never really planned to be a long term ongoing group, and over time some of the original members needed to move on to attend to other personal and political priorities.
A lot of neat things got set in motion by “Donuts”, but lately we needed both a new ongoing purpose AND a transfusion to get more things accomplished. And GIRL did we get new blood! (normally I would have said “Boy” there but, uh, you’ll see). The new primary purpose of the Editorial Team is to coordinate developing dynamite new blog content for the Clark Community Network, focusing most of our energies on finally launching the full set of diverse and regularly rotating Series Blogs that “Donuts” originally discussed here weeks back. As you all know, this is purely a volunteer effort, and frankly we needed additional talented help to really pull this off.
And we got it! E.A.T. is proud to now announce our brand new members. They are (identified here by the tags that they are best known and loved by on CCN): Nelsons, DonnaZ, Dormaphaea, and Phoebe in Sydney. Our new team is now newly energized and ready for action! Most of you already know and like everyone on E.A.T. Some of you may not know every one of us well, and heck, everyone may not always like all of us either. In a large diverse community of folks like the Clark Community Network, that happens. But no one can deny that everyone on the new Editorial Advisory Team has shown themselves over time to be very loyal and hard working supporters of General Clark, and that part is the key. This is a bust ass Team, and far as we can figure (and we did try to figure) it’s a good bet all current CCN members will recognize at least several members of this team that they view as honored members of this community. In short, we think we got you covered.
People were chosen who both had the time to give, and the organizational and writing talents that E.A.T. will need to succeed. One more thing. Everyone chosen for the Editorial Team has the complete support and trust of WesPAC to take on this task in a thorough and responsible way that will do credit to the General. WesPAC is behind this effort all the way fellow Clarkies. They want us to create the best, the most informative, the most lively and interesting politically related blog site on the internet, if we have it in us to do so. And I think, with all of CCN working together, maybe we really do.
That's one of the seven Series Blogging Teams that are currently lined up. The full target date for getting the new system up an running with a rotation between seven different Series Blog teams is August First, but the "Then and Now" team was kind enough to be willing to jump the gun a little to help make sure we keep some fresh material on the front page through the end of this month.
It is a great team, isn't it?
Don't know exactly how long it takes to handle the mechanics, but posting that installment should be done sometime tonight.
1) Donuts/ EATs do not do software and are not involved on the backside of CCN in improving the workings of Drupal 4.7 or other issues such as scrolling and posting. Only in that we feel for those of you having these issues and really appreciate your patience and understanding that-- although we live in an instant microwave age-- there are still some problems that take more than a few days to resolve. We all want these problems to get fixed yesterday... Especially when you're about to roll out all these new features to attract new users...
2) Donuts/ EATs CAN be used if you are a CCN member who would like to write on a Series blog and are not yet on one. If there is a topic that interests you, just contact the Donut/ EAT that is currently on that subject and offer your services-- writing or research!
3) Donuts/ EAT's CAN be notified if you have a special topic idea that you would like to see covered in Series that is not yet there, or you personally would like to write and introduce to the community.
4) Donuts/ EAT's CAN be contacted if you have a perfect Guest Blogger idea for CCN you think should be invited or if you have a special contact with someone you feel would be a good addition to Guest Blogging.
5) EAT's (<---switching over now!) CAN be the people you bring your general complaints or comments or .... who knows-- maybe even Kudos to Wespac, CCN admins or others working on blog features. A human channel of communications over and above the bug report.
EAT's are sometimes fragile creatures who all work minimally at one or two jobs, and have families to tend to -- they are ALL inordinately HUMAN - and function much the way all other humans do-- with all the beauty and all the flaws. Please respond and react accordingly. We're doing our best. Thank you!

but in cyberspace, no one can hear you shave (not that I do anyway).
Now you may think that is an off the wall reply, and it is, but I blame it on the Roches, who can be very off the wall and who I saw perform live yesterday. I can't get get one of their song titles out of my head: "Jesus Shaves".
It's true I'm not getting added respect because of my Gender. Clarkdom tends to have matriarchal tendencies just in case you hadn't noticed already. Ha.
It's a good one! The roll out of "Then and Now" is done, it's up, and this one is a lot of fun to read! (at least I think so)

I can live with ET (editorial team). Good to see the change in the series box on the front page. Everybody will have to learn to scroll the front page to look for new content in that box.
I have a new computer and my old one isn't here yet, so I am having to go back thru some of my blogs to find the data I use to write with. But then again I have so much as my wife calls it "useless data" in my head that give me an hour or two and I can find what I am looking for having CRS is a terrible thing, thank someone for computers and the internet, typing from stool and the computer spread out on the floor is not fun, I need my computer desk lol when you threw out the Donuts I assume you kept me on the Troops and Vets team :)
The individual series blog topic teams all remain. In fact, now is the time for them to kick it up into high gear if possible, so most of them probably can also use one or two good new people also.
Don't you dare go away!
P.S. I meant to attach this as a reply to your comment.

Sounds like a great team Tom.
Looking forward to watching the 7 course meal take shape.
erm...who's the dessert chef? Hoping for some really fine pastries. Oh, and an occasional cheescake would be nice. ;-)
