Book Club: Biography
For those who want to read an account of the heroic efforts of women rescuers in New York on 9-11-2001, I highly recommend this book authored by Susan Hagen and Mary Carouba. Women at Ground Zero: Stories of Courage and Compassion.
I'm still staring down some of the books that General Clark recommended in July - I finished two, and have two to go.
But this book by Hagen and Carouba is the only one (unless something has changed in the past year) of more than 300 books written about the events of 9/11 that focuses on the role that women rescuers played that day.
Proud to be an American.

It sounds like a good one.
I'll have to look for it at my favorite event of the fall...my NYC book sale the weekend before Thanskgiving. I'm sure I won't have gone through my pile of books before then. :)
It is a topic that's not been addressed much. Should be interesting.

Will add it to my "wishlist."
Because I needed some "escape" I'm reading a fiction book right now and loving it. House of Many Gods, by Kiana Davenport.
